• I did some checking and you should have a factory transmission cooler in your 2004 GMC Canyon. It will be near the bottom of the radiator. If you plan on doing any towing I would strongly recommend you install an aftermarket transmission cooler in conjunction with your factory transmission cooler as factory coolers are usually adequate at best for vehicles that are not towing. If you can tell me the size of the engine in your 2004 GMC Canyon, if it is a 2WD or a 4WD and if it is registered in California or not, then I can see if there is a direct fit converter that does not require welding for you.
