Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 1999 Honda CRV

Today we are going to install part number 118336 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this on a 1999 Honda CRV. To begin our install we actually have to get behind the speaker area. That is where the plug is actually attached at. We will just go ahead and pry this off, and then there are three screws that we have to undo to get behind the speaker. Be careful that you do not poke a hole in the speaker. And there is the plug right there, taped to the speaker wires. We will leave that sit there for now. And actually, if you want, you can actually take the speaker off - it might be a little easier to work with. What we do next is go ahead and pull back our carpeting, pull out this hatch, and then we are going to take this little plastic screw out to get back underneath here. All right, next we are going to route our cable from inside here down here. And it is all sheet metal behind here. So really we are going to take this panel loose and pull it away from it and run the cable between the metal and the plastic. And that means taking off this, this threshold, and pulling this back out so we can get some working room. First, we will take off this tie-down bracket - give us some working room there. And you can see we have got to take this thing off to get some more working room. So that means we have got to clean off this area here to get underneath here to take out our threshold.

  • Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack for 2 Bikes and a 1999 Honda CR-V
  • First, in order to use the Yakima BigHorn, # Y02404, you will need to have a 2 inch trailer hitch installed, # 13314, if you do not already have one. When we have installed this hitch on CR-Vs in the same generation as yours, we found that from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to clear the spare tire measured 6 inches. This is important to make sure the bike rack fits. On the BigHorn, it measures 11-1/8 inches from hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar of the rack so it

  • Base Plate Recommendation for a 1999 Honda CR-V
  • For your 1999 Honda CR-V you would want a Roadmaster Classic Base Plate Kit # 1528-1. The base plate kit from your 2000 Saturn LS would not be the correct base plates for your vehicle as they are all model specific. The # 1528-1 should work well with your falcon tow bar # RM-520 also. I attached a couple FAQ articles on flat towing that you might find informative also.

  • Can a Trailer Hitch be Installed at Home on a 1999 Honda CR-V and Does Exhaust have to be Lowered
  • You can install the Curt trailer hitch # 13314 at home. A lift is not required, but raising the vehicle using a jack and jack stands to give you more room will definitely help install a hitch on your 1999 Honda CR-V. If you have someone that can assist you in holding up the hitch when tightening the hardware, that is also going to be a big help. Lowering the exhaust is necessary for proper hitch installation. It is actually not nearly as difficult as it sounds. Just make sure that you have a

With this system installed, the SportRack Aero 1300 Cargo Box, # A26395, can be used on your CR-V and the weight capacity is 165 lbs. • What is the Capacity of the SportRack 2 Bike Rack for 1 and 2 Bikes on a 1999 Honda CR-V
  • I spoke with my contact at Thule, the manufacturer, about the capacity of the SportRack Super EZ Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, # A30901LR. They told me that the capacity with two bikes is 90 pounds. With one bike, the capacity is 45 pounds. Fully loaded and at capacity, this will put a total of 145 pounds on your tongue weight. Even with a Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitch, there would still be 55 pounds of capacity left over.
