  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1998 Chevy Tahoe Behind a 1996 Class A Motor Home
  • First, make sure to consult the vehicle owners manual on the proper procedure for towing your vehicle. There are a few different base plate options available for a 1998 Chevy Tahoe. If you wanted to go with Roadmaster base plates, you will have to measure the distance between 2 holes on the frame rail. Details are on each of the product pages for Roadmaster base plates for your Tahoe, see link. The other option is to skip having to measure and use Blue Ox base plates, # BX1623. With these ba

I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt hitch. To install the winch to the hitch you will need the Curt Electric Winch Mount Plate, part # C31010. This plate ha

  • Trailer Taillights Not Working on a 1998 Chevy Tahoe Everything Else Works Except Running Lights
  • It sounds like the tow package running light fuse is blown. There is a power distribution panel under the hood. When you remove the cover there will be a legend on the underside indication where the tow package fuses are located. The running light fuse for this circuit should be located in this panel also. If a tow package fuse is blown check the trailer wiring for a short on the taillight circuit before reconnecting it to the vehicle. If you find that the fuses are good, the next thing to

  • Everything Needed for a 1998 Chevy Tahoe to Tow a Cargo Trailer
  • The 1998 Tahoe needs to be wired for all the functions you need. You would need to start by installing a 4-Way wiring harness, like part # 118319, and then use a kit to upgrade to the round 7-Way plug needed for the trailer, part # ETBC7. The electric brake controller and 12 volt auxiliary line can then be connected to that round 7-Way. The 12 volt auxiliary line could be used to charge the trailer battery powering the alarm system. You can view all the parts you would need using the links belo
