Today we are going to show you part number TH5401, Thules Snowcat. This is a dedicated ski carrier. This ski carrier is designed to work with a variety of factory roof racks. It can carry up to four set of skis. Our first feature we will cover is the padding itself. It has got generous padding here for all your ski equipment. And, when you do install it, this part does telescope in and out. The one nice feature that is not told about is that the coating on the hooks themselves that wrap around the roof rack - it is kind of a plastic coating around the metal part itself. And it also has another plastic padding underneath of it, too, so it does not mar up the finish of your factory roof rack. more

Today on our 2011 Volvo XC70, well be test fitting the Thule Universal Flattop Rooftop Snow Sport Carrier, part number TH92725. Our vehicle is already equipped with the Thule Aeroblade Crossroad Roof rack system, and our rooftop carrier is already pre-assembled. So were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well begin by taking the front carrier and placing on top of the front crossbar. Well place it where its most convenient and accessible for us with it resting on the crossbar. Well go ahead and use the rubber coated steel straps to secure it down. more

RockyMounts LiftOp 6 Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2011 Volvo XC70 - Video
Today on our 2011 Volvo XC70 we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts LiftOp 6 Locking Ski and Snowboard Carrier, product number RKY1461. Our vehicle is equipped with the Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack. With that system our ski carrier is able to directly mount to the crossbar using the riser blocks. With our carrier pre-assembled we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll first need to remove the rubber strip from the top slide bar of the roof rack. With the rubber strap removed we can now simply slide the carrier into the crossbar channel and lock it down using our included Allen wrench. more

Today in its 2012 Jeep Patriot, we're going to do a test of part number TH92725 from Thule. This is a Universal Flat Top Ski Carrier. This will carry up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. Now, the jeep has already been equipped with the Thule roof rack system on top of it using the Thule AeroBlades. The flat top carrier is very easy to install. It would just settle on top of the rails and then we go ahead, run the straps around underneath of it and into the catch on the other side. more

Alright, today on this 2011 Nissan Altima we're going to do a test fit of a Thule Universal Flat Top Ski Snowsport Carrier. One quick note this carrier will carry up to six pairs of skis or four snowboards. Now our Nissan is already equipped with a roof rack from Thule with the square load bars and our Flat Top will just attach to the top of those. It's very easy. There's a strap that reaches around the crossbar and catches on the other side of the mount and then we just tighten it down. I already got 1/2 installed, let's go ahead and move on to the second half. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2012 Volkswagen Jetta - Video
Today on a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta we are going to do a test fit of the Yakima FatCat 6 ski and snowboard carrier part number Y03078. This will be on top of our round bar roof rack system. I have already got my carrier set up and hardware installed, so let us go ahead and do the test fit on the vehicle. We will start by tightening down the lower clamps. Once we have the lower clamps tightened down we will go ahead and open the carrier, then we will tighten down the level of adjustment once we get it squared up to the vehicle. Now that I have got my front carrier mounted and tightened down, I will go ahead and install the rear carrier. more

Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor, we are going to be test fitting a Thule universal Flat Top ski rack part number TH92725. We already have a Thule roof rack system on top of our Endeavor and now we are ready to go ahead and fit the accessories. First we will take half of the carrier and mount it up on top of our front crossbar. You can position the rack on either the drivers side or the passengers side; just make sure that it is easy to access when you go out to load your skis. We will set the rack on top of the load bar and get it centered, then we will wrap the straps around our crossbar back into the attachment system and tighten them down with the knob on the end. Once we have the first half installed on the front of our rack, we will go ahead and install the second half on the rear bar. more

Today we are going to show you the Yakima PowderHound roof mounted ski and snowboard carrier, part number Y03081. This model will hold up to four skies or two snowboards. It is a available in a larger model, called the Big PowderHound, part number Y03082 that will hold up to six pairs of skies or four snowboards. The PowderHound engages and idengages with a large push button that is easy to manipulate, even with gloves on.
