Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Honda Pilot - Video
Today on this 2011 Honda Pilot we will be installing a Yakima roof rack using the Yakima RailGrab Towers part number Y00138 and the Yakima 58 inch cross bars part number Y00409. There are three basic components to the rail grab kit. The first is the RailGrab tower itself, the second is the additional set of claws, and the third is the end caps for the load bars. You can also purchase separately the Yakima SKS lock core system. The lock cores will replace this knock-out and will provide a way for you to lock the door closed to prevent someone your rack from the vehicle. Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack System Review - Video
Today we are going to cover the typical components of a Yakima roof-rack system. We will start from the bottom and work our way up. On the bottom part are the actual pieces that are going to make actual contact with the vehicle, and those parts are referred to as Q Clips, part number Y0605. They actually adapt the rack to the car itself. And this is a set of the Towers right here, part number Y00124. These go from the roofline to the crossbars. And the Q Towers are lockable, so no one can take them off your vehicle. They do come with the cases for the locks themselves. These do not have the key lock inside them you do have to add the cores to them yourself. And that is part of Yakimas SKS System. And then the last part is the crossbars themselves, part number Y0408. And these bars come in various lengths, designed for specific applications. What we will do now is go ahead and assemble these components and actually install them on a typical application. In this case, we are actually going to install this on a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossbar Review - Video
Today we are going to take a look at the Thule AeroBlade crossbar. The AeroBlade is available in 4 lengths, 43 inches, 47 inches, 53 inches and 60 inches. The AeroBlade is Thules quietest, strongest loadbar. On a vertical load test it can sustain over 800 pounds of force. It also managed to decrease the drag force by 55 when compared to the Thule Rapid Aero cross bar. On the top is a rubber wind diffuser that sits inside the T-slot. The wind diffuser helps control the air flow to keep noise down. It produces 13 decibels less noise than the previous Thule Rapid Aero bar. The slight bow in the center of each bar helps to ensure a sturdy, custom fit roof rack. Like the Rapid Aero bar the AeroBlade has a T-slot for attaching accessories. What is different about this system is the end cap. The end cap does not need to be removed in order to mount or remove accessories. It will swing up and out of the way to allow access to the T-Slot. Once you have installed or removed whatever accessories you need in the T-slot, close the end cap and your ready to go. more

Thule Podium Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Honda CR-V - Video
Today we are going to install a roof rack from Thule on a 2008 Honda CR-V, and we will be using the following part numbers: THLB50 we are going to be using the Podium Roof-Mounted Foot Pack, part number TH460 and then we will use the Fit Kit, part number THKIT3042. That will connect the roof rack and the foot to the actual roof of the CR-V itself. On the table here we have got the assemblies needed to assemble on the roof rack. This is actually one-half of the kit all these part numbers include two of everything. So you have two load bars here, two of the Foot Packs, and two of the Fit Kits. As you can see, we have one already installed on the front half of the vehicle. We are going to put this one together for you and show you how it will install on the back part of the vehicle. more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2006 Mini Cooper - Video
Today, on this 2006 Mini Cooper, we are going to install a roof rack using the following part numbers. We will go ahead and point out the components here and the accompanying part numbers. First off are these two cross bars here. This is the THLB50. These two bars here and accompanying hardware on the side here are the TH487. That is the short roof adapter. Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Toyota Sienna - Video
Today on this 2011 Toyota Sienna we are going to show you a Thule Crossroad roof rack system. The Thule Crossroad system is designed to attach to vehicles with factory raised side rails. It utilizes a steel band that is coated in rubber that wraps around the side rails. Once you have the roof rack system assembled, lay the first crossbar over the side rails. Once we have our crossbar in position, we will make sure that the bar is overhanging on either side evenly. Once we have made sure that the overhang is even on both sides, we can go ahead and begin tightening down our crossbar system. Take the steel band, pull it underneath the side rail and push it in to the crossroad foot. Take the cap with the built in Allen key and begin to tighten the clamp. We will move back and forth from driver side to passenger side to make sure we tighten down the system evenly. As we tighten the Allen head bolt, not only does it pull the steel band tight around the side rails but it also locks the Crossroad feet on to the crossbars. 1:02 more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2001 Saturn L Series - Video
Today on this 2001 Saturn L Series we are going to install a Yakima Roof Rack and these are the part numbers that we will be using, Y00124, Y00654, Y00408. As you can see we have half the rack already set up and next we will show you how to do it. We have the pieces all laid out so it will be easy to find. Start off with the crossbar and we will install one of the Q towers, pick it up and slide it in. The next thing we need to do is get the measurement between the two ends of the towers and you always want to refer to the instructions for this measurement. In this case, for the front rail, because they are different, will be measuring out 36-3/ 8 inches and also the measurement for the rear crossbar is going to be 35-3/ 8 inches. 00:47 more

Thule Tracker II Roof Rack with Kit Review - Video
Today we are going to install a Thule Tracker II Roof Rack on this 2006 Ford Escape. Using the Thule Tracker II Foot Pack part number TH430R, the fit kit part number THTK1, and the Thule Rapid Air Load Bars part number THRB43. The first step in preparing the roof rack is to loosely assemble the hardware with the bases. Depending on your vehicle application not all of the hardware is going to be used. However on the Escape we are going to need all of them. Through the top of the base we are going to our bolt with the thread locker on it as well as the washers. They do go in a certain order. Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta - Video
Today on this 2003 Volkswagen Jetta we are going to install roof rack. We will be using part numbers from Thule. These low bars here are part number THLB50 and the foot pack here is part number TH480 and the pieces along the side are the fit kit part number THKIT1051. We will start off with the assembly and we will take one of the low bars and take one of the feet, end cap, a bracket from the fit kit, and one of the pads. We will assemble it now. Put the bar inside the foot and we are going to open this lever up to unlock it. Take the bar, slide it in, and just leave it loose for now. Put on the end cap. Flip it over. Open this little door here, it snaps open. Remove the Acutight tensioning tool. Take the bracket and it is going to fit into this slot right here and pull back up and it falls in. Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2003 GMC Sierra - Video
Today we are going to review part number TH480 from Thule. This is Thules traverse foot pack. And we will also be using fit kit part number THKIT1522. And the cross bars we will be using on this demonstration will be THLB58. Those are sold separately. And we will be taking these parts and will be installing these on a 2003 GMC Sierra extended cab pickup truck. We have our parts here laid out with just one end of the bar so you will not get confused. We will flip the whole assembly over so you can see it easier. We are going to start off with our tower here. To slide it onto the bar, what we are going to have to do is loosen this clamp up. So we pull back on this latch right here. Then we can slide our bar in. We will just leave that loose for now. We are going to pop on our little cap. We are going to need to open up this door here. It just snaps open. And while we are here, we will use this tool to tighten down this screw which actually will clamp it down to the car. Then next we will go ahead and install the fit kit itself. 1:00 more

Thule Ride-On Adapter Review - Video
Today we are going to cover part number TH532 from Thule. This is Thules Ride-On Adapter, and what this device basically does is, it converts your existing roof rack from the factory to be able to use a variety of different Thule products on your roof rack. Basically, what this adapter does it, it actually stacks on top of your existing crossbar. This has to have the factory rack. It also has the bars going from left to right. It also comes with a special torque bit, here. This actually has a security bit that actually has a hollow point so not a regular torques bit can get in there and undo it, so you have a level of security built in right there. Now I will go ahead and just put this on a factory roof rack and give you a better idea of how it looks and how it works. more

At that point, we can go ahead and tighten it down using the included Allen tool in each foot. With the each foot snuggling in place, you do need to make sure that your crossbar is square. To do this, find a fixed point on the side rails and measure to the foot with the tape measure. more

Today on our 2011 Volvo XC70, we'll be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Crossroads Roof Rack System, product numbers TH450R and THARB53. With our vehicle equipped with factory side rails and our roof rack already pre-assembled, we're ready to begin fitting it to the vehicle. When installing these crossbars, there are three things that you need to remember. You need to make sure that the crossbar is even from left to right. You need to make sure that the triangles on each of the feet are directly over the side rails on the vehicle, and third, you also need to make sure that they are perpendicular with the side rails. We'll do this by finding a fixed point on the side rails and measuring the same for each foot. more

Thule AeroBlade Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Silverado - Video
Today in our 2011 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab were going to be test fitting the Thule Aeroblade roof rack. Part numbers THARV53TH4EDR and THKIT1532 with our roof rack are already preassembled to specifications found in the instructions. Were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle because instructor the naked roof well actually need to open the doors as the roof rack system will use the door openings to clamp to. With the two front doors open we can go ahead fit the front bar and into place, will set it up on top of the roof, will measure from the top of the windshield back on the roof to the leading edge of the front bar foot that measurement will be 11 inches. With our front bar and its correct location we can now tighten it down using the provided Allen key with each foot. But our front bar secure we can now move to the back bar, again we need to open the two rear doors. more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford F-150 - Video
Today were going to do a test fit of the Thule square loadbar roof-rack kit with traverse speed on our 2011 Ford F150. Weve got already a little bar in feet assemble so lets go ahead and put them on the vehicle. Lets start by opening up both front door and placing the loadbar on the vehicle. Place the loadbar properly we need a measure of 10 and 1/8 inches from where the edge of the windshield and meets the edge of the sheet-metal on top of the roof-rack. All right now, weve got a front loadbar measure out in place and we start turning it down. Well take up some of the slacks on the clamps and then well tighten it down with the included torque tool specifications. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg - Video
Alright, today on a 2011 Volkswagen Touareg, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System using the Crossroads Foot Packs and AeroBlade bars. We're going to take the front crossbar and place it onto the vehicle. You want to check your owner's manual, check the weight limitation and the proper spacing for the measurement for your crossbars. We'll start by squaring them up with a non-point on the roof rack and then we'll move from there to the leading edge of the foot pack, then we'll go ahead and tighten it down. The foot pack comes with a tool to tighten them down and when you're down, it will store inside the foot pack. Put the front bar tightened down, we'll get and install the rear bar. more

Today on 2011 Honda Odyssey, we're going to test fit the Thule Roof Rack System using the Rapid Crossroads Foot Pack and a 60-inch AeroBlade, product number TH450R and THARB60. We'll start off with our roof rack already assembled according to instructions and we'll fit them to the factory rails. Place the first rail on top of the vehicle and put the strap underneath the factory rail and onto the clip on the other side. For our test fit, we'll be using a generic measurement taking from the scene of the roof rack to the leading edge of the foot pack to place the bars properly. With the front bar in the proper spot, we want to make sure it's even on both sides. Once we have it in position, we can begin to tighten down the clamp that goes to its factory rail. more

Rhino Rack Aero Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt - Video
Today on this 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt we're going to be test fitting a Rhino Rack Roof Rack System. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together according to the instructions so now we're ready to mount them up on top of the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open both front doors. Next we'll take our crossbar assembly and lay it up on top of the roof. We'll measure from the center of the seam where the two doors meet to the center of the front bar. This measurement needs to be 250 mm or 9,27/32". more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-9 - Video
Today on this 2010 Mazda CX-9 we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Crossroad Roof Rack using the AeroBlade bars. Now we have our bars preassembled and we'll be fitting them to the factory rails. You want to check the documentation that came with your roof rack for proper placement of the load bars that you're using. Also depending on the kit that you're going to use, you want to check the documentation for proper spacing. For our test fit we'll be using a generic measurement. We'll put our crossbars into place and run the straps underneath the factory rails and then back up to the catch on the other side. more

Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Toyota Camry - Video
Today on this 2010 Toyota Camry we're going to install the Rhino Rack Roof Rack. Product number DA118 for the crossbars and DK114 for the clamp kit. For our quick test fit we went ahead and assembled the crossbars as described in the instructions and we'll just place them on the vehicle and see how it looks. We'll start off with the front crossbar. Let's lay it on the roof and we'll move it into its final position. To place the front rail we're going to measure from the center of the rail over to the center of the door jamb. more

Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor we are going to do a test fit of the Yakima roof rack system. We will be using the Yakima RailGrab towers and we will be using the 15 inch load bars. Alright we are going to start off with our crossbars already assembled according to the instructions. Now our vehicle has a factory roof rack system already installed so it is just a matter of attaching our Yakima roof rack system to the factory system. We will go ahead and start off and with our first crossbar going towards the front of the vehicle. We are going to put the crossbar square with the factory rails. We will measure off from one edge of the factory rails over to the leading edge of the tower. Now this measurement can vary depending on the accessories you are going to use from your roof rack. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011Mitsubishi Endeavor we will be test fitting the Thule roof rack system using the 58 inch crossbar and the crossroads feet. Today the crossbars are preassembled so we will now show you how they are installed on the vehicle. To begin we are going to mount the front crossbar. Three things that we need to make sure of when mounting the crossbar is that the crossbar is overhanging evenly from left to right. The triangle on the foot is centered on the side rail and the bar is perpendicular to the side rails. After the crossbar is in position, I will move back and forth to tighten down the feet, ensuring that the position does not move. Once the front bar is secure, we can move to the rear. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor, we are going to be test fitting a Thule roof rack system using a 53 inch AeroBlade bars and the Rapid Crossroad feet. We already have our roof rack assembly put together and now we are ready to mount it up on the vehicle. Since this vehicle already has factory raised side rails, we do not have to worry about any measurement for positioning our roof rack. We do need to note that Thule recommends a maximum crossbar spread of 45 inches. So we want to make sure that we do not exceed this amount. We will go ahead and place our assembly up on top of the roof rack at the front of the vehicle. When we position the front bar, we need to make sure that it is overhanging evenly from left to right. more
