Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2006 Mini Cooper - Video
Today, on this 2006 Mini Cooper, we are going to install a roof rack using the following part numbers. We will go ahead and point out the components here and the accompanying part numbers. First off are these two cross bars here. This is the THLB50. These two bars here and accompanying hardware on the side here are the TH487. That is the short roof adapter. Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Toyota Sienna - Video
Today on this 2011 Toyota Sienna we are going to show you a Thule Crossroad roof rack system. The Thule Crossroad system is designed to attach to vehicles with factory raised side rails. It utilizes a steel band that is coated in rubber that wraps around the side rails. Once you have the roof rack system assembled, lay the first crossbar over the side rails. Once we have our crossbar in position, we will make sure that the bar is overhanging on either side evenly. Once we have made sure that the overhang is even on both sides, we can go ahead and begin tightening down our crossbar system. Take the steel band, pull it underneath the side rail and push it in to the crossroad foot. Take the cap with the built in Allen key and begin to tighten the clamp. We will move back and forth from driver side to passenger side to make sure we tighten down the system evenly. As we tighten the Allen head bolt, not only does it pull the steel band tight around the side rails but it also locks the Crossroad feet on to the crossbars. 1:02 more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2001 Saturn L Series - Video
Today on this 2001 Saturn L Series we are going to install a Yakima Roof Rack and these are the part numbers that we will be using, Y00124, Y00654, Y00408. As you can see we have half the rack already set up and next we will show you how to do it. We have the pieces all laid out so it will be easy to find. Start off with the crossbar and we will install one of the Q towers, pick it up and slide it in. The next thing we need to do is get the measurement between the two ends of the towers and you always want to refer to the instructions for this measurement. In this case, for the front rail, because they are different, will be measuring out 36-3/ 8 inches and also the measurement for the rear crossbar is going to be 35-3/ 8 inches. 00:47 more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta - Video
Today on this 2003 Volkswagen Jetta we are going to install roof rack. We will be using part numbers from Thule. These low bars here are part number THLB50 and the foot pack here is part number TH480 and the pieces along the side are the fit kit part number THKIT1051. We will start off with the assembly and we will take one of the low bars and take one of the feet, end cap, a bracket from the fit kit, and one of the pads. We will assemble it now. Put the bar inside the foot and we are going to open this lever up to unlock it. Take the bar, slide it in, and just leave it loose for now. Put on the end cap. Flip it over. Open this little door here, it snaps open. Remove the Acutight tensioning tool. Take the bracket and it is going to fit into this slot right here and pull back up and it falls in. Alright, today on this 2008 Acura RDX we are going to install roof rack. We will be using parts from Thule and we will be using the following part numbers. First off, we are going to use the Traverse foot pack, this will be part number TH480. And then we are going to be using roof rack bars, THLB58. And then we are going to use a fit kit. And these are actually the parts that actually adapt the roof rack to the roof line of the vehicle itself. That is going to be part number THKIT1550. Alright, we will go ahead and assemble one side. Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Toyota Prius - Video
Today on this 2008 Toyota Prius we are going to install roof rack from Thule. We are going to be using the following part numbers. For the cross bars we are going to be using part numbers THLB50 and then we are going to use the Traverse foot pack part number TH480 and then the fit kit for the Prius we are going to use part number THKIT1345. With this installed from here we can haul anything we want. It could be a cargo box, a bicycle rack, or a rack for kayaks, or a simple open basket and you can put anything you want inside of it. Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2003 GMC Sierra - Video
Today we are going to review part number TH480 from Thule. This is Thules traverse foot pack. And we will also be using fit kit part number THKIT1522. And the cross bars we will be using on this demonstration will be THLB58. Those are sold separately. And we will be taking these parts and will be installing these on a 2003 GMC Sierra extended cab pickup truck. We have our parts here laid out with just one end of the bar so you will not get confused. We will flip the whole assembly over so you can see it easier. We are going to start off with our tower here. To slide it onto the bar, what we are going to have to do is loosen this clamp up. So we pull back on this latch right here. Then we can slide our bar in. We will just leave that loose for now. We are going to pop on our little cap. We are going to need to open up this door here. It just snaps open. And while we are here, we will use this tool to tighten down this screw which actually will clamp it down to the car. Then next we will go ahead and install the fit kit itself. 1:00 more

Thule Podium Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Video
Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, well be test fitting the Thule Podium style Roof Rack System using part numbers THKIT4019, TH460, and THLB50. The Thule Podium style Roof Rack System will use the Factory Raise Side Rails on this Jeep Grand Cherokee and with our roof rack pre-assembled, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well need to set the front crossbar on top of the raise side rails. Well adjust the fit to slide into the grooves of the side rails. Well then find the fix point on the side rail to measure to the leading edge of our roof rack system. This will ensure they both fit on the left and right are in the same location. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Jeep Patriot - Video
Alright, today on this 2012 Jeep Patriot, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System. We'll be using the Thule Rapid Crossroads Foot Pack with the Thule AeroBlade Load Bars. Our Jeep has rails already in place in the factory so all we could do is add our load bars to it. We're going to start off with our load bars already assembled according to instructions and we'll go ahead and place them on the rails. We'll start off with the first crossbar going towards the front. We'll put it into place and then we'll go ahead and make sure it's square, and then we'll loosely install the straps to go around the factory rails and to the clips on the other side. more

Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor we are going to do a test fit of the Yakima roof rack system. We will be using the Yakima RailGrab towers and we will be using the 15 inch load bars. Alright we are going to start off with our crossbars already assembled according to the instructions. Now our vehicle has a factory roof rack system already installed so it is just a matter of attaching our Yakima roof rack system to the factory system. We will go ahead and start off and with our first crossbar going towards the front of the vehicle. We are going to put the crossbar square with the factory rails. We will measure off from one edge of the factory rails over to the leading edge of the tower. Now this measurement can vary depending on the accessories you are going to use from your roof rack. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011Mitsubishi Endeavor we will be test fitting the Thule roof rack system using the 58 inch crossbar and the crossroads feet. Today the crossbars are preassembled so we will now show you how they are installed on the vehicle. To begin we are going to mount the front crossbar. Three things that we need to make sure of when mounting the crossbar is that the crossbar is overhanging evenly from left to right. The triangle on the foot is centered on the side rail and the bar is perpendicular to the side rails. After the crossbar is in position, I will move back and forth to tighten down the feet, ensuring that the position does not move. Once the front bar is secure, we can move to the rear. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor - Video
Today on this 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor, we are going to be test fitting a Thule roof rack system using a 53 inch AeroBlade bars and the Rapid Crossroad feet. We already have our roof rack assembly put together and now we are ready to mount it up on the vehicle. Since this vehicle already has factory raised side rails, we do not have to worry about any measurement for positioning our roof rack. We do need to note that Thule recommends a maximum crossbar spread of 45 inches. So we want to make sure that we do not exceed this amount. We will go ahead and place our assembly up on top of the roof rack at the front of the vehicle. When we position the front bar, we need to make sure that it is overhanging evenly from left to right. more

Today on this 2002 Ford Fusion were going to be test fitting a Thule AeroBlade roof rack system. We already have our crossbar assembly put together so now we are ready to fit them to the vehicle. First thing well do is open the front door on both sides. Next we are going to take our front crossbar assembly and set it up on top of the roof. To position the assembly, we need to measure from the edge of the windshield to the edge of our Traverse feet and set it at 8 inches. Once we have the front bar in position, we will take the included AcuTight measuring tool to tighten the system down. Once we have tightened down the front assembly, we are ready to mount the rear. more

All right today on us 2009 Dodge-Ram 1500, we going to test fit our Thule roof-rack system, were using Thule sixty inch aero blades and well be using the rapid traverse foot pack, we have roof rack already assembled according to the instructions so lets go ahead and put them on of the roof of the truck. Well start of by opening the doors and well go ahead and put our first crossbar towards thefront windshield then place first. To put the crossbar in correct spot wed need to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the foot pack. Now, lets go by on the instructions but in this case its going to be four and a quarter inches. Okay, well go and install the second crossbar, just like we did first one except when measuring off the center of the first crossbar to properly place the second crossbar. Okay, so Im measuring the center from the first crossbar to second crossbar center well be 31 inches. more

Alright today on this 2011 Nissan Versa, we are going to do a test fit of the Thule AeroBlades, we will be using the Rapid Traverse foot pack, and the 53 AeroBlades. Okay we have the roof rack already assembled per the instructions and so we will go ahead and open the doors up and put them into place. Okay we will go ahead and set our first cross rail into position and put it on the roofline, and then we will slide it to the correct spot as instructed. Next we will go ahead and measure out for a crossbar for the correct spot. We are going to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the foot pack. Today on this 2011 Kia Soul we are going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack, using the 53 AeroBlade Load Bars as well as the Rapid Traverse Foot Pack. We will place the front load bar assembly up on top of the roof. Alright today on this 2010 Hyundai Elantra we are going to do a test fit of Yakima Roof Rack System. We will be using their round bars with the Q Towers, and we have our bars already setup according to the instructions so its just a matter of putting them on the vehicle. We will go ahead and open the four doors and install our first cross rail going towards the front of the car. To get them in the right spot we need to measure from the glass up to the leading edge of the foot pack. In this case it is going to be 9, but always refer to your instructions when installing. Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2003 Nissan Murano - Video
Today we have a 2003 Nissan Murano, and were going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack System. We will be using the 50 square load bars along with Thules crossroad feet. We already have our load bar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to mount them on the vehicle. When mounting the front load bar assembly we need to check three things. First we need to make sure the bar is overhanging evenly on both sides of the vehicles, second we need to make sure the crossroad feet are centered on top of our side rails, and finally we need to make sure that the front load bar runs perpendicular to the factory raised side rails. To do this we are going to find a fixed point on the side rails on both sides of the vehicle, and measure from that point to the front edge of the crossroad feet and make sure the measurement is the same on both sides. more

Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Honda Civic - Video
Alright today on this 2010 Honda Civic were going to do a test fit of the Rhino Rack Roof system. Were going to start off with our bars assembled, and then we will go ahead and open up the doors, and put them in place. We will start off with the first load bar, we will put it on top of the roof line and then we will put it in the proper place using measurements. What we are going to do is measure from the center of the door jam here, to the center of the roof rack and thats going to be 11-13/16. Alright next we are going to do the second rail and basically provide the same procedure as before except we will measure from the center of the front rail for proper placement. On our second measurement from the center of the crossbar to center of the crossbar will 27-9/16. more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Stretch Kit Installation - 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse - Video
Today on this 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse were going to be testing a Yakima Roof Rack System with the Q Stretch Kit. The Q Stretch Kit is going to allow us an additional 4 of crossbar spread when compared to the roof rack kit alone. We already have our cross bar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to mount them on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open the doors on both sides of the vehicle. Well set our front crossbar assembly up on our roof; we need to measure 4 back from the edge of the windshield weather strip to the leading edge of the Q Tower. We can adjust the thumb screws for proper tension. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Kia Sorento - Video
Today we are going to be doing a test fit on our 2012 Kia Sorento, were going to do a test fit of the Thule Roof Rack system with square load bars and the Crossroad Foot Pack. I have already setup my bars so lets go ahead and test fit them on the vehicle. There are three things to note when installing your bars. First you want to make sure that the bar overhangs evenly on both sides. Next theres an arrow on the foot pack that needs to be in the center of the side rails, and third we want to make sure that we tighten down our foot packs perpendicularly on both sides. To do this, Im going to take a measurement on a fixed point on a side rail so that I can make sure that both sides are even. more

Now, we already have put together by manufacturer instructions. So let's go ahead and just start installing one to our factory roof rack. Now, locations of a crossbar will vary, you want to check with the manufactures low-limits and instructions that came with the factory roof rack. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Kia Sorento - Video
Today on a 2012 Kia Sorento, we're going to do a quick test fit of the Thule roof rack system. We'll be used the Thule Rapid CrossRoad Foot Pack. We'll be using Thule AeroBlades. Just attach to the factory roof rack on the vehicle. We'll go and start off the first crossbar going towards the front. We'll be using generic measurements on this application. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer - Video
Today we're looking at a 2011 Ford Explorer. We're going to do a test fit of the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System. We used the 60" load bars with the rapid load foot packs. With our load bar is set up, let's go ahead and install it on the vehicle. Each foot pack has an aero indicator, so that you can center it on the raised-side rails. Now, the load bar installed, let's go ahead and adjust it from side-to-side to make sure it's even and running perpendicular with the side rails. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Honda Pilot - Video
Today we have with us a 2011 Honda Pilot, and we are going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack system using the AeroBlade Load Bars and the Rapid Crossroad feet. We have the 53 AeroBlades with us, but with this vehicle you could step up and use the full 60 AeroBlades. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so we are ready to mount them on top of our vehicle. We will start with the front crossbar first. Well set it up in place and we will double check to make sure the overhang is even on both sides of the vehicle. We also need to make sure that the crossbar runs perpendicular to our factory raised side rails, and to do this we will find a fixed point on our side rails on either side, and measure to the end of the Rapid Crossroad feet to make sure that the measurement is the same on both sides. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2002 Ford Focus Wagon - Video
Today on this 2002 Ford Focus Wagon, we are going to be installing a Thule Aeroblade Roof Rack using the Thule Crossroad Rapid feet. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so we are ready to mount them to our vehicle. First we will lay them on the factory raised side rails, get our position and then tighten them down. We are going to make sure the crossbars overhang evenly on both the left and right side of the vehicle, and were also going to measure them to make sure that they are perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. We will also make sure that the arrow marks on the side of the crossbar feet are pointing towards the center of our factory raised side rails. Once we have our front crossbar assembly positioned where we want it, we can go ahead and begin tightening it down. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Toyota Highlander - Video
Today we have a 2010 Toyota Highlander and we will be testing fitting a Thule roof rack. Well be using the 50 inch square load bars and the cross road feet. We already have our load bar assemblies put together and now were reading to mount them up on our vehicle. When positioning the front load bar you need to check three things, You need to make sure that the bar is over hanging evenly on both sides of the vehicle, you need to make sure that the center line triangle on the side of the cross road foot is on the center of the factory side rails, and finally you need to make sure that the load bar is running perpendicular to your raise side rails. To do this well measure from the fix point of the side rail on both sides of the vehicle, to the leading edge of the cross road foot. Well make sure that our measurement is even on both sides and then well know that our load bar is perpendicular. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Toyota Highlander - Video
Today we have a 2010 Toyota Highlander and we will be test footing a Thule roof rack using the 53 inch aero blade bars and the rapid cross road feet. We already have our load bars put together and now we are ready to mount them up on the vehicle. Since this vehicle has factoring side rails theres no set cross bar spread, Thule also specifies this measurement is not to exceed 38 inches. First Ill place our load bar assembly up on top the side rails. We need to check three things when we position this side bar, we need to make sure the lower bar is hanging over evenly on both sides of the vehicle, we also need to make sure the triangle mark and the side of our feet are pointing towards the center pf pour side rail, and finally we need to make sure that this load bar is running perpendicular to our factory made side rails. To do this well measure from a fixed point of the side rail on both sides of the vehicle to the leading edge of the cross road foot. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen - Video
Today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagon, we're going to be installing a Thule Crossroad and AeroBlade Roof Rack System. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and now we're ready to mount them up on our vehicle. First, we're going to install the crossbar assemblies up on top of our factory raised side rails. The Crossroad fit has a rubber coated steel band that's going to wrap around our factory raised side rails to secure a new system. Once we've laid the crossbar assembly up on top of our side rails, we need to check to make sure it's positioned correctly. We want to make sure that the overhang on either side of the Crossroad foot is even and we also want to make sure that our AeroBlade bar is running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. more

Thule Podium Roof Rack Installation - 2007 Honda CR-V - Video
We are going to install the Thule Podium roof rack. We will show you how to install it and how it looks. The first thing we need to do is remove the cover for the hard point that is already installed on the vehicle. There is a little slot you put your screw driver in and pull it out. There are two studs and we have to clean up the threads to install out adapter parts. It does come with a die that will help you clean up the paint on the threads. You want to run those all of the way down as far as you can and then back it off. You can do that for every stud. We will add two extensions to the studs. Go ahead and install the cover that comes with the fit kit and then put a crossbar on. 0:44 more

Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2011 GMC Terrain - Video
Today on this 2011 GMC Terrain, we will be test fitting the Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack System. Our Terrain already has factory installed raised side rails, so we will be using the RailGrab system that will clamp onto these side rails. Today, we will be using the small claw with our RailGrab towers. We already have all the crossbars assembled, so we can go ahead and begin mounting them. With our RailGrab towers in place, we need to make sure that the crossbar is overhanging evenly on both sides of the vehicle. Once we have the RailGrab system in place, we can begin tightening it down. We will start with the black Allen head bolt and tighten it down to the point where we have it snug. Once we do that, we can go ahead and tighten down our silver Allen head bolts on both sides of the vehicle. Once they are tight, we can go back and lock down the black bolts.0:44 more
