Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder - Video
Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118361 on a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. And this installation will also apply for the Infiniti QX4 as well. The wiring installation is actually going to be done predominantly on the inside of the vehicle here. What we need to do is, I have actually opened up the rear hatch of the vehicle. Connecting points for the wiring harness are actually located behind the interior panels on both sides of the vehicle, directly behind the tail light assemblies. So the first thing I am going to do is go ahead and take out the six screws holding the rear threshold piece and then pry away the rivets on the sides to gain access to the connectors. We will just set that off to the side for the time being, and I will go ahead and pull back the carpeting. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Nissan Xterra - Video
To give you an idea of what were going to do, typically the modulite and other hardwired modules will get wired usually behind the tail lights. Most of the time you get four functions on the left hand side and the one right turn function on the right hand side. However on Nissans they actually run part of there tow harness here and this is the plug right here. Whats active on it only is the left and right hand turn and the brake signal. The wire is ran for the running light, but is not active. To make it active you have to buy the whole towing kit from the manufacturer OEM. What were going to do is show you a way to work around that where you do not have to run behind the lights and just basically fill in the blanks with the tow package. The First thing we need to do is mount our wiring module. It seems a pretty safe spot would be along the side of the hitch right here. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Nissan Altima - Video
Today on this 2006 Nissan Altima we are going to install part number 119176 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get access to the trunk area of the vehicle. We need to pull back some of the interior components so we can get to the wiring. We removed the flooring material, now we are going to take off this panel right here. It is assembled along the top edge here but you can just pull on it and it should pop out. We will do the same thing with the plastic rivets here and here and get closer to the wiring. We can see where our main wire harness comes down through here and this goes on to the passenger side of the vehicle and this one goes straight to the driver side tail light. So we can get access to our wiring here and here. 00:49 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Nissan Quest - Video
Today on this 2007 Nissan Quest van, we will be installing wiring harness part number 118469. Okay, we are inside the rear cargo area of the Nissan Quest van here and we are going to go ahead and point out the locations for our wiring harness, inside the interior of the van, behind these panels on both the driver and passenger sides as well. To gain access to those, we are going to need to go ahead and remove some of the paneling and this rear threshold plate as well. And if you have one of the storage compartments here at the bottom, we are going to go ahead and need to remove that as well. These are the rear threshold plates overlapping the two interior panels here. We are going to start by removing it. There are push rivets located along the back section here of this threshold plate that need to be released in order to get this guy off here. So what we are going to do is grab the bottom, and there are actually clips back here as well. And just start prying away until you here them release. 1:00 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Nissan Xterra - Video
Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118244 on a 2004 Nissan Xterra. We are underneath the vehicle. With the spare tire removed we are taking a look at the passengers side frame rail here. You can see right at the top of the frame rail we have got this plug with a cap on it. That is the plug that we are going to need to plug our harness into. I am just going to remove the cap, and I am just going to push the button in on the top here and remove the cap. And then we are just simply going to plug our harness into that and secure any of the extra wires that you may have on the 4-pole, using some zip-ties. And you do want to test all functions to make sure that you are getting power on all active ports. And this will conclude the installation of wiring harness part number 118244 on a 2004 Nissan Xterra. more

We have opened up the rear hatch of the vehicle and we are going to go ahead and point out where we need to locate the connection points for our wiring harness. The connection points are actually located behind the tail light assemblies, on the inside of the vehicle, behind these panels, on both sides of the vehicle. To gain access to those, we are going to need to remove quite a few items here from the rear end of the vehicle. To release these screws here, you actually want to align the arrows. There is an arrow here on the inboard side, along with the arrow on the knob. If you align those two, it will allow these two clips to release. There are also three screws here that are holding this compartment in that we are going to need to remove as well. more

Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number V30608 on a 2006 Nissan Titan. OK, we are underneath the vehicle here, and we are actually looking at the back side of the bumper just a little bit forward excuse me, just a little bit rearward - of the spare tire. We are on the drivers side, and you can see this port right here. This is actually the port that we are going to be plugging into for our wiring harness. So the first thing that we want to do is go ahead and disconnect that from the little pop rivet that is in here. And then you can go ahead and pull that down, like so. From there, you can see there is a little cap on there. You press the button here and and pull that right off. And that is where our wiring harness is going to plug into. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Nissan Murano - Video
Today we are going to show you the installation of part number 55571 from Curt. We are going to install this on a 2005 Nissan Murano. For this install what we need to do is open up the back hatch and remove some inner panels. Both of the covers on the left and right come off. These compartments will also come out. Now to remove the threshold what you want to do is remove this little panel underneath the hook. There are also 3 plastic releases in the back along with these 3 rivets in the back. Take those out and this whole panel will unsnap and come apart. We need to take this cover off so what we do is work it a little loosely and the pop this handle out and you can pull the whole thing out pretty easily. Then go ahead and pop those pins out of the side paneling so you can pull it off. Now you can see where the harness and the tail light connect. more

We are going to start the installation off underneath the vehicle and the Xterra is a little unique in that it has a partial tow package already installed on it so we are actually going to use the wires for that to install the modulite kit. Come over to the driver side of the vehicle near the bumper area and follow the frame forward to locate this open ended port right here and this is the tow package port so what I am going to do is pull it off of its retaining clips to give me a little bit more work room. What I have done is cut back some of the tape already to expose the wires. 00:44 more
