Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Honda Element

Today on this 2007 Honda Element we are going to install part number 118465 from Tow Ready. This is a T-One wiring harness and what this harness basically does is fill in the missing parts of the factory tow package. First thing we are going to do is find the port underneath the dash where part of the harness plugs into. It is a two piece kit. One piece gos in the front of the vehicle with the modulite box itself and the other half plugs into the back of the vehicle. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Honda Civic

Today on this 2009 Honda Civic we will be installing wiring harness part number 118420. Our harness here consists of three different ports. We have got two ports that are going to hook in over on the driver side, that will be the port with the brown and red wires and the port with the yellow and white wire. Also on our harness here, we are going to connect on the driver side, the white wire there with ring terminal on it. That is our ground wire. The third port with the longer green lead we are going to feed over to the passenger side tail light and we will connect them to give us our right turn. The connection points for our wiring harness are located directly behind the tail light assemblies here on the interior. To gain access to those connectors, we need to go ahead and remove some interior pieces. We need to remove the center threshold piece here and also pull back the interior fabric here on both sides and to pull back the interior fabric here we have got three flathead screws per side. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Honda Odyssey - Video

Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Today we are going to install part number 118438 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this on a 2005 Honda Odyssey. All right, this is the plug that will go into the factory plug behind the plastic here, and we also have the ground for our unit, which will get grounded on the inside on sheet metal. So first we will take this off. All right, we are going to take off these tie-down points here we have one on each side. There are some buttons underneath here, too, so we are going to loosen those first. There you go - it just pops right up. Now you can see where we have got to take this off so we can pop this loose and out. We will take off the jack storage compartment door and then just easily pull it off on the side. Some are harder than others. And it will also help to take off this little tie-down point, too. You may have to put a tool back here to work it out. All right, once you have the threshold panel taken off, you can see why this has to come loose - now you can see why you have to take the threshold off, because this overlaps it. What is going to happen is that this is going to get pulled out just enough to run the harness in here, because the harness is going to be stored inside the jack storage compartment. The connection point is going to be on the passengers side of the vehicle behind this plastic here. It kind of helps to take this tie-down point off and pull it away. But there is a fuse box back behind the plastic we have to plug our harness into. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Honda Accord

Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118302 on a 2006 Honda Accord. We are inside the trunk area here. The connection points are actually located behind the tail light assembly, so we are going to need to remove this rear threshold piece. There are push rivets located here that are holding the threshold piece on. I am going to take a flat-bladed screwdriver and just gently pull up. OK, next I am going to go ahead and remove the carpeting. To do so, there are two Phillips-head screws that we are going to take out. We are going to remove the plastic plugs that are in here as well, and that will allow us to pull the carpeting back here. So here on the drivers side we are going to go ahead and make all three of our connections. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Honda Pilot

Today we are going to install part number 33105 from Hoppy, and we are going to install this on a 2004 Honda Pilot. A wiring connector is hidden behind this plastic piece right here in the threshold, so what we have got to do is get behind this, take it up, and then get between here and the bucket that is behind here, and that is where the connector lies. Pulling back the bucket here, you can see where our wiring connector is hidden. We will loosen that up and install our harness under that port. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Honda Odyssey

Today we are going to install part number 118336 from Tow Ready, and we are going to do this on our 2004 Honda Odyssey. The port where we need to get to the wiring is inside the vehicle, so we need to open up the hatch and get to the inside, drivers side quarter-panel. To get behind our quarter-panel here, we have to get behind this access panel. Pull this loose, so you can undo this one, and then get back behind the wiring harness which is located in this general area, here. And there are a couple of clips back in here, and if you kind of put your fingers in there to work it out, it will come loose. Just keep working it back and forth until you get the brake loose until you get enough to where you can get your hand in there. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 1999 Honda CRV - Video

Wiring Harness Installation - 1999 Honda CRV

Today we are going to install part number 118336 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this on a 1999 Honda CRV. To begin our install we actually have to get behind the speaker area. That is where the plug is actually attached at. We will just go ahead and pry this off, and then there are three screws that we have to undo to get behind the speaker. Be careful that you do not poke a hole in the speaker. And there is the plug right there, taped to the speaker wires. We will leave that sit there for now. And actually, if you want, you can actually take the speaker off - it might be a little easier to work with. What we do next is go ahead and pull back our carpeting, pull out this hatch, and then we are going to take this little plastic screw out to get back underneath here. All right, next we are going to route our cable from inside here down here. And it is all sheet metal behind here. So really we are going to take this panel loose and pull it away from it and run the cable between the metal and the plastic. And that means taking off this, this threshold, and pulling this back out so we can get some working room. First, we will take off this tie-down bracket - give us some working room there. And you can see we have got to take this thing off to get some more working room. So that means we have got to clean off this area here to get underneath here to take out our threshold. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda CRV

Today we are going to install part number 118427 from Tow Ready, and this is a T-1 connector for a 2008 Honda CRV. This T-1 connector actually installs inside the vehicle, so let us have access to the inside. We will open up the hatch and show you what panels need to come out. Remove this panel here and then we need to remove this threshold right here, and that way we can get access to this interior panel here so we can get behind it. You have two plastic rivets at the bottom. They are kind of different - you push the center and they pop out. It just takes gentle pressure and then it will pop out. And then this panel we will need to pull loose, and there is one rivet right here. Way back in the back you can see the white connector with light blue tape around it. That is the connector you need to get into. It is about two feet deep in there. more

Step one would be to get to the wiring itself, thats going to require removing a couple of panels and loosening a couple. First thing to do is take out the trunk tray, the threshold and loosen the two side panels. Taking off that panel will allow us to get this panel loose here to get to the junction box inside. Wiring harness installation: Now that we have our panel is loosened you can see the junction box. It will use this port here and simply plug in. Once youve plugged it in, go ahead and ground it. Theres a handy ground screw right here well just use that. Last step is to mount the box here and well just stick it behind this harness here, it has self adhesive. more

Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Honda Pilot

Today we are going to show you part number 118336 from Tow Ready and we are going to install it on a 2007 Honda Pilot. To begin our install we have to gain access to the inside of the vehicle and take off the rear threshold. That port we need to get to is underneath the threshold. A little bit towards the center but closer to the driver side. Next this threshold panel needs to come off also. They actually come off pretty easy. On this tray here we push back a little bit and we can see the port right here. Once we have gone ahead and plugged it in we will stick our little converter box on right here. There is just enough room. We can stick it against the wall and keep it out of harms way. We can tuck these wires back in there. You can either run the wires back out through this hole or sometimes there is a crack in this little hole you can run it through also. more
