Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2000 Buick Century

Today on this 2000 Buick Century we are going to install part number 18252. To wire the vehicle up we are going to have to get to the back of the tail lights and the wire harness is ran up behind here and into the tail light. We are going to have to go to both sides of the vehicle and right now we are looking at the driver side. What we are going to do is take off the fasteners that hold this cover in place so you can get back to the wires. You can see the wires that go in the tail lights will be pretty easy. We will peel back the electric tape so we can get access to the wires. We have got the wires bare, now we will test which wire does what function. First we will start of with the running lights. The kit comes with a supplied light tester so that looks like the running light circuit so that is going to be brown so we will hook up our wire to the 4-pole and the running light on the 4-pole will be brown also. Slide on the scotch lock that comes with the kit and run the brown wire next to it and we will squeeze it with the pliers and we are good to go. 01:04 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Buick Enclave - Video

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Buick Enclave

Today on this 2009 Buick Enclave we will be installing wiring harness part number 118450. The connection points for our wiring harness are located directly behind the tail light assemblies on both of the drivers and passengers sides. So the first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove both of those. And that will expose the two screws that are holding the tail light onto the vehicle. We will go ahead and remove those. We will just gently pull away the tail light connector that we are going to be connecting our harness into located right here. We want to go ahead and press the tab here at the top of the connector. And that will allow us to pull the two pieces apart. I am going to set the tail light aside for the time being. We will take the harness here and we will start with the connectors that have the yellow and brown wires on it. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2003 Buick Park Avenue

Today on this 2003 Buick Park Avenue we are going to install part number 119176KIT from Tow Ready. The first step is to go ahead and open up the trunk and get access to our wiring. We are going to have to remove the threshold and then we are going to have to remove the carpeting in both corners behind the taillights. Ok, here is our wire harness that we need access to right here. Now we can go ahead and test our wires. And to do that, instead of piercing the wires, we can actually test on the inside of this connector right here. So you push down this tab right here on top and it comes apart. Ok, we will go test our pins. Before we do any testing, let us go ahead and install our ground. We use the sheet metal right here. And it is double layered. You can tell by the weld marks here. We will leave that ground in for now. And we will attach our ground lead from our tester and we will probe our wires. 0:52 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 1995 Buick Le Sabre

Today on this 1995 Buick Le Sabre we are going to install part number 18172 from Tow Ready. On this vehicle, what is nice about the wire harness is it is run down one side, so all you have to do is pull back the cover and get to the wiring harness. What is nice about all the GM products is it is almost color for color match up. It is always a good idea to double check everything. We are going to need a ground to do that with, so just install a ground screw into the sheet metal right here. :24 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Buick Tarazza

Today we are going to install part number 118396 from Tow Ready. We are going to install this T-1 harness on a 2005 Buick Tarazza. And also, we are going to use a bracket, part number 118144. First we will install our bracket. It is going to install to the factory bracket that is on the hitch. Now this bracket here, it can be installed like this on the hitch. Or, if you did not have a bracket on the hitch, you could easily attach this to the bumper. We will go ahead and start installing our T-1 connector. And we do have to get the tail lights off the vehicle, so we have to open up the back hatch to get to the screws to take off the tail lights. We will take off these two screws right here and then we just pop the whole assembly off. Once you have the tail light loose, go ahead and disconnect it from the wire harness. It is this connection right here you want to take apart. And then go ahead and repeat the same steps for the other side. more
