Today on this 2009 Chevy 3500 HD Pickup we will be installing Westin running boards part number 26-1400. The first thing we are going to do in preparation is to go ahead and lay out all of our hardware and make sure that all of the components are there. The next step is to go ahead and remove the existing body mount bolts from the underside of the cab. There are two. You can see one here at the front right at the hinge portion of the front door and then one here more towards the middle section on 05 and older models you will need to actually remove these bolts and use new hardware. On 06 and up models we are actually going to be reusing these body mount bolts. more

Today we are going to install E-Series Tube Steps from Westin, part number 23-2900, and we are going to install this on a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup crew cab. The body brackets will actually mount to the body bolts right here - one at the front of the cab here, and we are looking underneath the passengers side of the vehicle - and then the last one at the back of the vehicle, this one right here, it mounts up there. The bolts in the centers come out, and they get replaced by new bolts that come with the kit. Okay, we will start off with the rear passenger body bolt. Then we will take a bracket and our hardware and run a bolt right through and thread it into place. We are just going to snug them down for now, and we will tighten up everything as our last step. The front bracket actually gets a spacer on top, and the long bolt goes through just like before. more

Today we are going to be installing Bully step bars, part number NB-103 on a 1999 GMC Sierra regular cab. We are underneath the vehicle now, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the step bars. We are going to locate the body mounting brackets. There is one here at the forward side and one here, more toward the rear, almost even with the edge of the door. These are the two components that we are going to be using to attach our hardware to mount these step boards. We are going to be removing the bolts from these brackets and putting up our mounting brackets for the step bars. more

This is the Power Step running boards. They are automated running boards for all makes and models of your truck, whether it is a Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge and Nissan. What you will notice here is the Power Steps are in the closed position, which will allow you full ground clearance between your vehicle and the ground. So, if you do any kind of off-road activity - hunting, fishing, ranching, farming - your boards will be up out of the way, maintaining full ground clearance. As soon as I open up the door, as you will see, the boards down. They deploy in about 1 seconds time. It provides me with a true stairstep in and out of the vehicle. Close the door, and you will notice the boards will go away. As soon as I am ready to get out of the car, open the door, my boards are here, ready for me. more

The next product we have got is what we call the Bed Step, and this is designed to solve the problem, How do I climb in the back of my truck? Currently, everybody is having to do this, or they are doing this, and they are pulling themselves up in there. It gets to be a problem. What we have here is the Bed Step: a spring-loaded step that mounts directly to the frame and the bumper and allows easy access. And now when I need to get into the back of my truck, I am up in there. And when I am done with it, simply kick it away. The big advantage to this Bed Step is the fact that it does come out at an angle, so it allows me access in and out of the truck with my tailgate up or my tailgate down. So now I can climb up into the back of the truck real quick and easy. And again, when I am done with it, why, I kick it and forget about it, go back to work and do what I have got to do. more

Today we are going to show you part number 26-3125 from Westin automotive products. What we are going to install are some tube steps on a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. This install will be an relatively easy one to do. There are already threaded bolt holes in the frame which is really nice from the factory. So basically all it is when you hold up the bracket install the bolts and then tighten them down it will be pretty simple. We will do that on 4 points of the vehicle. We will do this here, make sure you do not mess with this cable here for the parking brake. The bracket actually goes around it. So it is pretty hard to mess that up. You have this bracket, and when going towards the front of your vehicle, you will see 2 more threaded holes up by the body mount here. Again it mounts in the very same way it just bolts on. It is identical to this on the driver side also. Before we can begin our install it would be a good idea to run the bolts in and out of the hole a few times. To make sure there is no dirt or junk that would mess up the threads. So it is a good idea to just go ahead and run them in a little bit. We got about 2 threads in and it stopped already. more

Today we are going to install part number 27-1495 from Westin automotive products. These can be used on many different style of running boards. These can be used on 2002 to 2006 Chevy Trailblazers EXT and the GMC Envoy. This application is pretty straight forward. What happens is these brackets you can see here, get bolted up to the bottom panel. Then they set up like so and get bolted into place. Now on the rear ones here they use bolt on. The other 3 will require a bolt thats already existing to be used. There is a hole you have to drill for a fastener on the other 3. One thing you will want to do is any holes that are underneath the frame you might want to run a bolt through them to clean them out. We went ahead and first off sprayed them with some WD40 and ran the bolts in just to clean them out. more
