Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis - Video
Today on this 2003 Grand Marquis, we are going to install part number 13707. The first thing we are going to show you is where the hitch mounts up to the frame. There are no existing holes in the frame. So what we are going to have to do is go ahead and hold the hitch up, mark our holes and then drill out the frame. To prepare the frame, what you want to do is make sure you have gotten rid of any large weld splatters that are along the seam right here. This one is in pretty good shape but if you see anything you can take a chisel to it and just knock it off and it will be clean right there. The next thing that we need to do is make a mark from the end of the frame towards the back about 1 inch. And we will line our hitch up with that. It is about 1/8 of an inch past this point right here. You can see how the steel wraps around. Basically right on this seam right here, where it was welded, will work just fine. So, we will line our hitch up against that. We will make sure we mark it even on both sides. 0:51 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Mercury Mariner - Video
Today on this 2007 Mercury Mariner we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87585. This installation will also apply to Draw-Tite hitch part number 75693. We are underneath the vehicle. The first thing I have done is lowered the spare tire out of our way to give us a little bit more working room. Over here on the passenger side the instructions do not indicate this but I am going to lower the exhaust down as well. It is going to give us a little bit more working room. There are two hangers here that I am going to be lowering the exhaust off of. One here at the rear and one just forward of the muffler itself. To remove the exhaust off of its hangers we are going to take a spray lubricant like a WD-40 and spray the studs down. Then we can take a pry bar or a pair of pliers and separate the two pieces. Now with the exhaust lowered we can point out the mounting holes we are going to be using to attach the hitch to the vehicle. 00:45 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Mercury Sable - Video
Today on this 2009 Mercury Sable we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36360. This installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 90090. Looking underneath the vehicle we are going to start over on the driver side frame rail. The first thing we want to do is lower the exhaust down so we have some more working room. The rear most hanger is actually attached to the bottom of the frame. There are two bolts holding it into place. We want to lower that down first. With this rear hanger we want to take the frame mounted portion off of the vehicle completely. What we are going to have to do is cut this arm off of that mounting flange and have to accommodate the trailer hitch later on. 00:42 more

Well begin our install by taking down our spare tire to create more working room, now well show you where the bolts are going to be. Theres no drilling on this frame so were going to use this hole here, this oval one and this hole back here. Were going to fish wire bolts from the inside out. Next Ill show you the location where we pull the bolts through. To begin our fish wiring, basically it comes with a fish wire tool. We stick it in our first hole here, and push it all the way out to the end of the frame. What you want to do is slide your plate on first and get that started inside the frame. Once it falls through like so, its good to go. Now we thread on our bolt and pull that on through also more
