Today we are going to install part number 13535 from Curt on our 2006 Honda CRV. First, we will show you where the hitch mounts up. First will be on the drivers side, on that frame rail right here. And then the center point, where the tie-down loop is, it uses that. And the same two holes on the passengers side, which is right now hidden by the muffler. more

Today we are installing part number 13328, a hitch made by Curt, and it will be going on a 2005 Honda Pilot. Okay, we are underneath the vehicle now. And the first thing you want to do is remove your spare tire, and get it out of the way. Locating the attachment points, right here on the back side of the bumper there are two weld nuts that attach to the flange on the hitch itself. And then we go over here to the drivers side of the frame rail, there is just a tow hook that needs to be removed. There are three bolts holding it on. And those three weld nuts in the frame will be the attachment points for the hitch, as well. And then on the passengers side frame rail, there is not actually a tie-down, there are just the existing weld nuts. On older vehicles, over time corrosion will build up into these weld nuts, so you want to go ahead and clean those out really well before you get started. You can use any kind of spray lubricant, like WD-40, and a wire brush to get the threads cleaned out. more

Today we are going to install part number 87440 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on an 2008 Honda CRV. All right, first we will show you where the hitch mounts up. It will mount on these two holes existing in the frame. It will also mount to the tow hook in the middle of the vehicle. And it also attaches to two same threaded holes above the muffler. more

Today we are going to install part number 24763 on our 2008 Honda Civic hybrid model. The hitch is going to install above the exhaust on this frame rail behind the heat shield right here. It wraps all the way around the muffler. It is also going to attach to the tow hook right here. Also on the frame rail over here just on this side of the shroud. The first step is to remove the exhaust and also, to do that, we need to remove the rubber isolator from the exhaust muffler. And that will give us some wiggle room. Next we have to unbolt this heat shield right here. Alright next what needs to happen is that this rivet right here has to be removed. We will put it back up when we are done. What we are going to do now is go ahead and hang the hitch. We are going to start off at the tow loop. As you can see, we have the U-bolt hanging down from it. It might be a good idea to have an extra set of hands to work around the muffler. more

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 90153 on a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The attaching points for the hitch are going to be on both sides of the frame. They are going to be these rear 2 most weld nuts. On a lot of the models that have seen at least one winter you will see lots of road grime and corrosion built up into these weld nuts. So definitely it would do you some good to go ahead and lubricate these with some WD40 and clean them out as best you can with the wire brush or basically anything you can get in there to clean it out. We are going to need to remove the exhaust off the exhaust hanger. Okay, with the weld nuts throughly cleaned out, we are going to want to go ahead and put the hitch up into position. more

Okay we are going to do an install on a Honda element using part number 24720. We will take out all the spare tire and the plastic so we can actually do the install. Okay we will go ahead and clean out the trunk area and then get down to the spare tire and take that apart. What well do next is tighten this down just enough to snug it to hold it in place, and then well see where to drill or holes out using the hitch as a template. more

First thing well do is lower the exhaust to give us a little more working room. As you can see we use a tie down to pull the exhaust out of the way even more so. That is totally optional it just depends on your circumstances. What were going to do is clean out the bolt holes on our frame. Sometimes you wont have to do this, particularly if the vehicle is brand new. Some older vehicles, especially fewer years down the line, you run into problems with rust and corrosion getting in the threads. Were going to use a wire brush that comes off a battery terminal cleaner and were going to spray it down with WD-40 and work out the rust. Its not so bad in this model but well go through the steps anyway so its easy to see what you need to do before you put the hitch on if you have an older vehicle. The next step would be to use the actual bolt and run it in there a few times in and out to clean it out just to make sure. more

The first thing we need to do is remove the rubber hangers holding up the exhaust. Theres one here in the center of the vehicle and theres a secondary hanger on the outside of the frame and you need to remove that one as well. This will allow the exhaust to come down so you can access this hole here. The next step is to install the bolts into the frame through the existing hole. You want to use the bolt leader thats provided, wrapping the the threads around the bolt. You slide the block onto it as well and feed it up into the hole, and pull the bolt back down through. That locks it into position. Now well repeat that and do the same thing on the other side. After we get the bolts into the frame well mount the hitch into position. After we get the two mounting frame bolts into place we want to install the mounting bolt into the tow hook. more

Today we are going to do an install on a 2006 Honda Fit using part number 11058 Class 1 receiver hitch. The hitch will mount up to the car pretty easily, It uses this tie down loop right here. This skid plate also come off. The hitch actually covers those very same areas right back up. Then this stays off and you install the hitch on the cross member right here. First step is to take off the skid plate right here. Next we will install our hitch on this toe loop right here with this U bolt. Then tighten all of the bolts snug before giving them the final torquing. This concludes our install of part number 11058 Class 1 receiver hitch from Curt Manufacturing on a 2006 Honda Fit. more

Today we are going to install part number 87454 and we will install this on a 2007 Honda Pilot. This also applies to part number 75599 from Draw Tite. To begin our install we have to take care of a couple things. First off this tow hook has to be taken off and it stays off. The other thing is we want to clean out any of the bolt holes that are exposed to the elements. The hitch attaches on this side here and also attaches on the far side of the muffler on the passenger side. On these exposed bolt holes here the ones that we will need to use we will have to clean out and we will take care of that next. We will begin by spraying down the holes with some WD40 or any kind of cleaner. This ensures that all of the dirt gets out of there before you try and install the hitch. more
