Today we are going to be installing part number 75656 on a 2009 Ford Flex. We are up underneath the vehicle now, on the drivers side frame rail, and as you can see, the exhaust is on this side. And the hanger for the exhaust is actually being held on with these two bolts that are in the frame here. Those are actually the same two bolts and weld nuts that we are going to use to install the hitch. So the first thing we want to do is to go ahead and remove these bolts and bring the hanger down. more

Today we are going to install part number 75374 from Draw-Tite on our Ford Econoline van, the E250. And this also applies to part number 70755 from Hidden Hitch. To show you where the hitch installs out on the frame, it uses these two holes toward the end of the frame, here. And then this hole right here on this part of the frame. It is identical on both sides. And for clarity, we did take down the spare tire. It is not a necessity, but it tends to make things a little easier to work around in. more

Today we are going to do a hitch install on a Ford Escape Hybrid, built 05-07. And we are going to use hitch number 75281 and it is a class III receiver hitch and we will get to installing it. The first step that we are going to do is to make things easier on ourselves. We are going to go ahead and disconnect the rubber exhaust hangers on the exhaust. We will lower it down just to give us a little bit more finger room. Now we have a lot more working room. What we will do next is pull our bolts through the frame. We will start by running our leader through the bolt hole itself and then out the access hole. Then we will pull our bolts back in through. OK, lets do the other side, the same process. OK, notice how the bolt got caught. What you need to do is just roll it back and forth until it twists around and falls into place. Do not pull too hard. And you see how the plate came through first, which is good. Then you can pull the rest through. more

Today we are installing hitch part number 87108 on a 2008 Ford Taurus X. The first thing we want to do is to go ahead and lower the exhaust. We just need to remove the exhaust from the rubber hanger here. Now that we have got the exhaust off of the rubber hanger, we want to go ahead and remove the hanger assembly itself. And we can do so by removing these two bolts here. OK, now with the exhaust hanger removed from the frame, we want to go ahead and fish the carriage bolts into the frame here on the drivers side. We just want to go ahead and run the fish wire that is provided in the kit. We want to run it through this hole and out through the access hole here at the top. Pull it down into position, like so. We want to now remove the fish wire from the thread you can just unwind it. And then we want to go ahead and put the other carriage bolts into the horizontal frame position here, as well. We will fish through the same access hole, and up out through the hole. This location gets the 1 x 2 inch block along with the 1/2 inch carriage bolt. Now I am going to run the fish wire down through the hole, like so. This position gets the 1 x 2 inch block along with the 1/2 inch carriage bolt. Pull that through like so. You want to go ahead and leave the fish wire on the carriage bolt in this position so that, when we put the hitch back up, if for some reason the hitch forces the carriage bolt back into the frame, you can just pull it back through. more

OK, today we are going to be installing hitch part number 75526 on a 2007 Ford Edge. OK, before we install the hitch, we need to lower the exhaust unit down. And, on the Ford Edge, there are 3 separate exhaust hangers that we are going to have to lower down. There is one here on the passenger side and there is one in the same location over here on the driver side and there is one directly in the middle, between the 2 exhausts. Before we move the third hanger here, we want to go ahead and put some kind of support under the exhaust because, once this hanger has been removed, the exhaust will fall all the way to the ground. So I am going to just use a regular strap here. Pull it tight underneath so it still allows the exhaust to lower but not lower too much. OK, the next step, we are going to need to remove both, the driver and passenger side, heat shields, which are held on by 3 screws. And we are going to need to trim the heat shields to allow access to this hole here and this hole as well. That is going to be the 2 attaching points for the hitch. more

All right, today we are going to install part number 75038 on a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck. All right, the hitch gets mounted to the frame right here. There is actually a dent in the hitch where it mounts against this rivet right here. And it mounts onto the frame about this far back. And you do have to drill all the holes out in the frame. So the best way to do it is to clamp it up to the frame and then use the hitch as a template and drill out all the holes. All right, one other thing you want to do before you install is lower the spare tire as far as possible to give you some working room to get up in there. more

Alright today we are going to install part number 41920 from Draw Tite. We are going to install this on a Ford F250 lite duty version pickup. The hitch will install in these pre existing holes in the frame here. There is also a bracket that needs to be installed at the end of the frame. That goes over the top of the rear set of holes, and there also has to be a hole inside of the bracket that needs to be drilled through the side of the frame. Our next step is going to be going ahead and temporarily bolting this bracket into place. We are going to just use existing hardware. That will just give us a guide for our drill bit to go on through. Okay we drilled out our pilot hole a 1/4 inch, then we will follow it up with a half inch bit. Now we are going to repeat everything for the other side. more

Today we are going to be filming hitch part number 36252 on a 1999 Ford Taurus wagon. Looking under the vehicle here we are going to point out the attaching points for this hitch. We are going to remove this bolt on both sides of the frame. It will become the upright fastener for the hitch. We are going to be using the existing hole that is just a little bit forward from this slot here on the side of the frame. So the first thing you will do is remove the bolt from both sides of the frame. You can see on this model they have tow hooks which not very many models have but this particular one does have them, so they need to come off as well. With the bolts now out of the energy absorbers, we want to go ahead and lower the exhaust. There are 2 hangers that are holding it on. There is one here to the rear side near the bumper and then there is one more towards the forward side, towards the front of the exhaust here. more

Today we are going to install part number 65043 from Draw Tite and we are going to install this on a 2006 Ford F150. This will be a front mounted hitch. Our hitch will install on the inside of the frame. It will use existing holes that are in here. The holes that will be used in the frame will be the square hole here and this round hole up here, that is sometimes covered by this balance right here. We can start by actually holding up the hitch into position. This is a good one to have an extra set of hands for. It goes on the inside of the frame and there are 2 notches on there to keep it a little bit higher or a little bit lower depending on clearance with your bumper. It is a good idea to install your hitch as close as possible then install your hardware. In this case we have the hitch install in the lowest position. That should give you an idea of what kind of clearance you can expect. Once you have your bolts installed you can go ahead and install your hardware. You still want to leave it loose because you might have to move your hitch back and forth for the rest of the hardware. more

Getting Started with your Trailer Hitch Installation The first task to be done is to pull the bolts through one hole to another on both sides. Well use the hitch as a template to drill the last two holes. If it is dirty underneath, make sure you take time to shake the bolt to make sure the plate sits flat on the steel inside. more

First thing well do is well hang our bolts in the frame starting with the holes at the end of the frame and well hold the hitch with those. Then well see how things line up and well use whatever we can to line things up. If a something doesnt line up well drill out a hole for it as specified in the instructions. more

Before we start the installation you want to be sure to lower the spare tire which allows more clearance when you put the hitch on. The attaching points are going to be located on the outside of the frame, the rearmost is going to be this hole here. There are also two forward attaching points here and here. Were going to go ahead and mount the hitch in place. Using the bolt leader provided were going to feed it through the hole and out the larger hole forward on the frame. You put the block on first, then thread the bolt onto the bolt leader and pull it through the frame. Were going to do the same for the other hole as well. Once youve completed the drivers side, do the same on the passengers side. Once we have all the bolts in place we can torque them down to 75 foot pounds. Once weve finished torquing on one side, repeat on the other. This concludes the installation of part # 87195 on a 2004 Ford F150. more

Today we are going to install part number 75082 which is Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch. We will be installing it on a 2007 Ford Ranger XLT. After lowering the spare tire underneath the vehicle here, on the driver side and passenger side we want to remove the rear most bolt on both sides. After removing both rear most bolts we need to remove the retaining clip that holds the threads out of the frame rail here. You actually pry this piece away from the frame rail. Because it is actually clipped around it. To give a little more clearance we are going to loosen this bolt on both sides. That should give you enough room here to pop the clip out of the frame. Now that the clip is removed from the frame we will go ahead and tighten these bolts back up. Now we will the hardware down from the top of the frame down into the holes in the frame. more

Today we are going to do an install of part number 41546 from Draw Tite. We are installing it on a 2003 Ford E250 van. To point out how our install is going to work basically we pull right here into the frame using that to hold our hitch up which will allow us to see what holes on the hitch match up to the holes on the frame. First we have to lower the spare tire and then on the driver side there is a carbon canister we must move temporary to install the hardware. We only need to move it slightly so we can fit the hardware up here. We will remove these bolts here on the side and then this canister will slide right out. Now we can install our bolts on the very end of the frame here and we will hang out hitch from there. more

Today we are going to show you part number 87507 on our 2001 Ford Windstar. This also applies for our 75055 from Draw-Tite. Just to show you where the hitch will be installed at on this vehicle here is what is going to happen. We are going to pull a bolt from one end of the frame through this hole here. You will want to do that on both sides before hanging the hitch on these 2 bolts. After we have our hitch installed we will use of these last 2 holes and drill through this trim plate on the bottom of the frame. We will go ahead and start using our pull wire to get the hardware pulled through the bottom of the hitch. First we will slide our plate over the leader. Which that can fall down if it has too. Then you go ahead and install your bolt. When it pulls through you can go ahead and do the same thing on the other side. more

Today we are going to install part number 75506 from Draw Tite and we are installing it on a 2008 Ford F150. This also applies to Hidden Hitch part number 87418. We will show you where it attaches to the vehicle here. First off attach it by the bumper here by these 2 mounts here. Also by this this part of the frame. Then on the side of this part of the frame also. You do not have to take down the spare tire but we did just for clarity. Before we begin our install what we are going to do is take down this factory 4 pole because later it will be replaced with a different type of connector. But we are going to put it up just to show you how it would fit if you stuck with the 4 pole connector. Next we are going unbolt the bracket in order to remove it. more

Today we are going to install part number V82211 from Valley on our 2005 Ford Escape. To install our hardware the bolts get pulled from the inside out. The hardware ends up being pull through here to all 3 of these holes. You can use a wire pull to get the wire inside and out. You do the same thing on the other side but it is a little bit different. On this model here we have this tie down bracket which gets bolted to this side of the frame here. Also it gets bolted between the frame and the bumper. So we really can not take this down because it is trapped by a bumper. So we are going to have to enlarge a hole back here. Basically what we want to do is enlarge this hole here with a small hole saw. Then we will pull the hardware from one hole to the other. more

Today we are going to do an install of part number 70647 on a 1996 Ford Explorer. This also applies to part number 75083. The first step to installing our hitch is to remove any tow ropes here on the bottom of the vehicle. Sometimes they can be on the passenger side. In this case we do not have to worry about that. The next thing we can do is go ahead and install our hardware. Which the hardware fits in this hole right here and then on the side of the frame right here. What we will do is hang the hitch from this hardware here first. Then we will go ahead and install the rest. When you are putting up the hitch notice that this edge here is hitting here and on the shackle here. What happens on older vehicles is that the suspension sags a little bit. So what we have to do is raise up the body to raise the suspension so that we have room to fit the hitch into. more

Today we are going to do an install of part number 87161 from Hidden Hitch. This hitch install also applies for part number 75082 from Draw Tite. We will install this on a 2002 Ford Ranger with the Edge package. To begin our install we must do a couple things. We have to take out this bolt and the J-Nut on top. Basically it is just a nut that clamps on the frame. It must be removed also. The new hardware will be ped in so that it is pointing straight down. This nut towards the back will stay in place however we will loosen it up so we can have better access to the J nut. Then the last piece of hardware will be going in this hole here. The bolt that we loosen will always stay here in the frame. We will repeat this process for the opposite side. more
