Circuit Tester Kit Review - Video

Circuit Tester Kit Review

You can see the kit comes with three parts to it, obviously the tester itself here, the alligator clip that will actually go on to the end here. You also have the hook that goes over the end which goes around the wire and pierces the wire to test the wire also. This is the larger alligator clip you use for the ground. The way this unit identifies the circuits working, it does it in two different ways, it actually lights up and it actually makes a sound. We will demonstrate that here with this light we have hooked up to a power supply. This is the ground so this will go to the ground of one of the lights that you are working with. This probe here will actually go to the wire itself. We will use our hook here, and we will go ahead and just test the wire. Just squeeze it gently and you hear a tone and it lights up. What is also nice about this, if you actually reverse the polarity of this, it will reverse the ends and tell you the polarity. more

Plews LubriMatic Ultimate Grease Gun Review - Video

Plews LubriMatic Ultimate Grease Gun Review

This ultimate grease gun is equipped with a 10 inch grease pipe, a heavy duty coupler and a longer lever than you see with other competitors models. The barrel and the loading lever both come standard with comfort grips and the stroke on the lever is variable. In other words, if you need a lot of grease just increase the stroke. This also has a nice air bleeder valve installed on it so when you put a new cartridge in it, or if you somehow get a air bubble inside it you can let out that air. This unit puts out about 10,000 psi total pressure and this unit is a heavy duty design to take the abuse of being dropped into the toolbox and whatnot. This is really an over sized unit intended for industrial applications, no shop should be without one of these. As you can see here, the barrel itself is about 10 inches and the are grips on the barrel here and on the handle too. You can see with the lever here that we talked about earlier, you do not have to go all the way out, you can deliver just a little bit at a time or go all the way out to put out the maximum grease that you can. more

Plews LubriMatic Deluxe Bearing Packer Review - Video

Plews LubriMatic Deluxe Bearing Packer Review

Aside from being really helpful with trailer bearings, you can also use it on other types of bearings. For instance, for your car, truck or RV bearings. It has a minimum id of 1/2 an inch with a maximum od of it is going to 5 inches and the height of the bearing will work from a 1/4 inch up to 2 inches tall. Basically when you get it its going to be unassembled like this and you assemble like so. To use this device we will take a typical bearing we have here, and you just install it. It will slide over, it does not have to be centered as this device is self centering. You want to make sure the cone of the bearing is pointing up like this, make sure the narrowest point is on top. Now we take the top half and thread it on also. This makes a seal between the top and bottom halves of the bearings. What happens is the grease will come out from inside the bearing out the top a little bit and then comes out through the rollers themselves. more

Plews LubriMatic Lever Action Grease Gun Review - Video

Plews LubriMatic Lever Action Grease Gun Review

This is a general purpose grease gun that is good for all household jobs or light duty work in the shop. It comes in a black metal casing that takes 14 ounce cartridges. It is capable of producing up to 6000 psi. Like I said, this is your plain, straight up standard duty grease gun. It has a nice long lever to get good leverage on it. To operate this you pull the lever up and push it back. It delivers a shot of grease out the front. You have a rigid design tube here, it is about six inches long and now we will show you how it works and how to get grease inside. To load this grease gun you pull the lever back, and it goes in this dent in right here. Now you just unscrew the head assembly from the barrel. Then you pop in your cartridge per instructions then you just go ahead and reassemble it. It is released out here and the spring tension takes care of delivering the grease. That is part # L30200, the LubriMatic standard duty lever action grease gun from Plews. more

Plews LubriMatic Grease Gun Kit Review - Video

Plews LubriMatic Grease Gun Kit Review

This is a nice small model that will fit in your toolbox just nicely. It will come in handy if you are at the boat launch and you want to stick some grease in your bearings before you go in. It also works afterwards if you need to get some water out, you never know when you need some. This is an essential tool to keep in your toolbox. At this point we will go ahead and show you how it goes together. It is a pretty simple device really. You start by unscrewing the head off the cartridge. With the plunger here you give it a good turn and it comes apart. With your grease cartridge you take the cap off and it goes in the tube. You pierce that and it goes in there, let the tension go back down and in a few seconds you are squirting grease. As you can see the whole unit is all steel construction with a nice painted surface. You can tell it has these nice grooves in the handle which are called knurling for nice one handed operation. This gun also only takes standard 3 ounce cartridges. There you have it for the LubriMatic mini grease gun kit with the multi-purpose grease from Plews, part # L30132. more

Plews LubriMatic Pistol Grip Grease Gun Review - Video

Plews LubriMatic Pistol Grip Grease Gun Review

What we have here is a heavy duty grade grease gun. Instead of the typical lever style we have a pistol grip design instead. This pistol grip design develops 7000 psi. What is also nice and different about this unit is, instead of a rigid hose going up to the coupling, it has a flexible line so you can get to the hard to reach areas. That combined with the pistol grip makes this a very user friendly device. This gun uses all 14 ounce grease cartridges too. It also comes with a bleeder valve to get any trapped air out of the cartridge when you are using it. Also what is nice about the flexibility on this if you happen to throw this in your toolbox you will not have a rigid line sticking out all the time, you can take the hose and fold it up and put it away. more

Dielectric Grease Review - Video

Dielectric Grease Review

Today we are going to talk about dielectric grease. A lot of people have most likely never heard of it. You can use it on any electrical connection or junction. If there was a plug going in between a truck and a trailer. Say for instance you have a 4 pole flat. You can apply just a little bit and plug the other 4 pole into it. That way you can have the grease on both pins. What happens is the grease helps cut down on the corrosion. Which happens when electrolysis happens. What that means is that the current will run through the metal here and react to the air. Thats how you get that green stuff that you see. This will slow that down quite a bit. more
