Easy Swivel Trailer Jack Installation - Video

Easy Swivel Trailer Jack Installation

Today we are going to install Dutton-Lainsons pull pin easy swivel trailer jack part number DL22800. On a typical application we are going to simply clamp this jack on to the side of the frame. It would be a pretty easy install. However, on this trailer we have a different type of frame on it where it is a little bit angled. Going towards the back of our trailer our frame is thicker, going toward the coupler it is a little bit thinner. I am going to do a couple of modifications to the installation of this. It will look pretty good when we are done with it. The original jack was bolted on the location right here which is pretty close to the coupler and it was not working all that great. We are going to replace it with a heavier jack but, we come to find out when we install it in its original spot it is going to take up a lot of room no matter how you situate it, it will take up a lot of room even when you bolt it in place. 00:46 more

A-Frame Trailer Jack Installation - Video

A-Frame Trailer Jack Installation

Today on this enclosed trailer we are going to replace the jack on it and we are going to be using part number BD155032 from Bulldog. This is their round A-Frame jack with topwind handle. The capacity of this jack holding the trailer by itself is 5,000 pounds and also while it is lifting it is ready for 5,000 pounds also. Basically to replace it is going to be pretty easy. Just give it a go and see if it comes apart. We have got these three bolts to remove and you should be able to just remove the jack straight up. You will also notice we have got the trailer hooked up to our truck that way we have it supporting the trailer pretty easily so we can remove the jack. In our case here we are pulling it up and it catches. That is because the bottom of the jack has been ground down from abuse and dragging and what not. So honestly we are going to take a grinder and cut off the bottom. It does not matter because we are going to have to replace the whole thing. 01:04 more

Powered Trailer Jack Installation - Video

Powered Trailer Jack Installation

Today we are going to install part number BD500185 from Bulldog. This is their powered jack. The jack is ready for 4,000 pounds and it should be pretty easy to install. The first step involved is to remove the old jack and any accessories with it. We will lower the trailer on some jack stands. Get the jack loose. We have got a battery box for the brake away kit so lets take that apart and loose and out of the way. Once you have the stuff around the jack out of the way we will unbolt the jack from the tongue. Once we have got it unbolted we can pull it straight out. 00:43 more
