Rola Four Bike Rack Assembly and Demonstration Transcript - TX104
Getting Started with your Rola Bike Rack
Once you unpack your bike rack, there's a couple of things you wanna check before you start your assembly. One would be to check the locks and make sure they work. Simply look down the barrel and make sure the locking mechanisms work. Try it on the cable too. The other key to try is on the latch. The final thing to check would be the measurements on the outside edge of the cradles and compare them to your bikes. This way you don't have to go through the trouble of taking the rack apart when the bikes don't fit.
Bike Rack Installation
If you don't have a workbench handy, might as well start by putting the shank on the hitch and working your way up from there. Next we put in our hitch pin in which acts as an anchor while we tighten the bolts down. Then we'll start on the superstructure going up.
Next thing is to put the pivot bolt in. This pivot bolt when you unlock it the whole assembly goes up and back which is why there is a small hole there. This bolt comes with a couple special nylon washers, there's a trick to them with tightening down. It doesn't actually take that much because the assembly has to have enough room to go up and down. Tighten it down to where its just snug, don't cram it. Make sure it's not smashed and you can turn the bolt.
Features of the Bike Rack
Next is the tilt function. Simply remove the safety pin, unlock it, pull up just a little bit and back. To lock back up push it back to the original position. Lock it up and put the safety pin back in.
Now lets put a bike on it. Pull the key out on the top lift the arms until the holes match up again and lock them into place, pull the button out and the key pops into place. To operate the lock for the bikes, pull the lock from the storage tube come around your bike and push the two end pieces together, giving a couple tugs to be sure. Put the cover over the lock and your ready to hit the trails.
