Topline Truck Bed Bike Rack
This is a two bike truck bed carrier from Topline. This lightweight compact is perfect for the on the go biker, with easy installation and removal it keep your bikes secure from bouncing around in the bed of your truck. This bike also comes with a locking key to keep honest people honest and is easily converted to carry more bikes. This is by using the add-a-bike system that is sold separately. Starting from top to bottom, we'll cover some of the parts we have here. On top here is the arm that reaches out and holds your bike, as you can see on the left hand side here there's a clamp, that is what gets clamped to the bed of your truck. Going to the second part, this is the bar that goes between your first bike and second bike. Together they will add stability and not go anywhere.
On the bottom on the left hand side is a cable, again that is a security system to keep the bikes from going anywhere. To the right you'll see a black plug, which is for trucks with over the rail bed liners. You do have to drill out a hole for your bed liner, so you can attach the clamp to it. Once you take of the rack you put the plug in and you don't have to worry about dirt or dust getting in there. Now we'll show you a typical installation. Before we start our install, what we're going to do is mount one of the clamps to the bike first and stick the bike in the bed the way we want it. Now we'll mark the bed with a piece of tape. Now we'll take everything apart and install our clamp. Now that we have our place marked, we can install our clamp. It's pretty simple, this edge here will go behind the rail and this will clamp on top. Once we have this in place we'll use our eye bolt to tighten it down. Once you have it tightened the way you want it, then this jam nut has to be tightened down so it won't back off when your down the road. The next step is to loosen the clamp here the top half so you can rotate your arm. Now we're going to install our first bike. We'll give it a trial run here, make sure your bike is vertical. Just clamp it into place, our bike is now clamped down to our truck bed and will not go anywhere. Before we install our second bike we need to make sure we add our front tire tie strap. This will connect the front wheel to the frame so it doesn't move around during transport. We'll install our next bike, you may want to take a couple of tries to make sure it fits right.
Now we get our cross bar, which gives us an idea of how wide it needs to be. These tubes are really big so we're going to install these clamps with the handle as far out as possible on the threads. Snug them down and take a minute to make sure you have them the way you want them like they're sitting vertical. They might need an adjustment or two. Then you can clamp them down. Now we'll re-strap our front tire. Now all we have to do is lock up our bikes with the cable and we're good to go. We'll run our cable through the eye bolt and around the frames. As you can see we have two bikes secured to the back of this pickup, with an additional kit you can have up to four bikes in the bed of the truck including the first two. This is simple and easy to use design, with components consisting of aluminum and high impact plastic which will last you for a very long time and will work on all types of bikes. There you have it for part # UG2500 the truck bed two bike carrier from Topline.
