Thule Revolver Swinging 4 Bike Rack Demonstration
These are the parts that will consist of the bicycle rack, we'll show you how they come together. One stipulation is that this is made only for a two inch receiver hitch. We'll start by inserting our shank into our hitch. We'll use the bottom half here and then use our hitch pin/anti-sway bolt to hold it in place. Next we'll install the swing out arm portion of the bike rack. The swing arm assembly consists of the bolt, two washers and a nut. Now we'll install the main body of the bicycle rack. Again this will install with the same bolt, two washers and a nut. The next step is to go ahead and assemble the lock assembly for the hitch pin. Step one we have to take off the protective covers off the locks themselves, step two we'll install the lock cylinders, and three we'll test its operation. Now we'll test the lock on the hitch pin to verify that it works. With the first lock done we'll move on the second lock which has the same procedure for installing it. This will be for the cable lock for the bicycles. Lets go ahead and test our lock. Lets get the rack ready to accept the bikes, what we have to do first is rotate the cradles facing the right side up. Then we'll get the straps out of our way and test fit the bike. Now we have the bike attached with the cradles, now we'll one up it by adding one of the anti-sway brackets. This will keep the bike from moving around on the rack. As you can see we used a standard road bike frame for our first bike, now we'll do a test fit with an alternative frame bicycle. This bike is fitted with the standard cradle so now we'll add the anti-sway device. As you can see this bicycle rack will handle an alternative frame bicycle with ease also. Lets move on to some of the features of this bicycle rack. One of the first ones is the built in anti-theft. The built in cables you saw earlier will wrap around the bikes and we'll show you how that works. Also the cradles on this rack are really nice because you can have two axis's of movement. You can have left to right and forward to back. Also on this rack the straps have two options depending on the style of bike you have. You can go on one side or the other too, depending on which fits your bike best. Also the cradles on this rack have grooves built into it to accommodate to the cables right here. Also a nice feature about this rack are the anti-sway cradles we were talking about earlier. What it does is actually keeps your bike from rocking back and forth, minimizing the effect of bouncing off each other. Again it shares the same feature with the cradles, the straps can be used in two different positions. You can manipulate practically any way you want to. Once you have the bikes the way you want them, don't forget to take time out and tighten down the swing arm. It makes sure it doesn't go anywhere and keeps it from rattling. The best part about this rack is its swing way feature, we'll show you how that works. That will cover it for all the features on this rack, it's really nice and well built, can accommodate four bikes, and has a lot of features. This is about the best one you can buy from Thule, and as another note we'll show you the overall measurements so you can check with your bike to make sure it will fit it. It looks like the overall width you need to look out for is 13 7/8 inches. That is you Thule bicycle rack part # TH964.
