Thule Roadway 4 Bike Rack
This particular model is convertible from an inch and quarter and two inch receiver hitch which is nice. I'll show how it goes together, and then I'll show you all the features too. First we'll show you the cradles and the features of those. What you have are these straps that can be used on either side to accommodate your bike. It also has these grooves here that makes room for your cables so it doesn't mash your cables to the frame of your bike. The cradles also twist left to right or move front to rear. You have almost infinite adjust ability. Next we'll show you the hinge mechanisms on here that help with storage and gaining access to the back of your vehicle. First off we'll show you storage. What happens is you lift these levers to tilt the rack up and down to store it.
Last but not least, we'll show you a couple minor details which I think are crucial to this bike rack. What's really nice about this for one are when it comes to tools that you can see we've used so far. We've used this wrench to assemble the rack and we're going to use this Allen wrench here to show one of the best parts of this rack. What happens is this is a sleeve for a two inch receiver hitch. You can take this sleeve off and have access to use an inch and a quarter hitch, just by taking out one bolt. See you still have access to your pin hole here for your bolt, so it's anti-rattle on either hitch. The last detail, which is pretty nice, this strap right here if your wondering goes from the bike rack to the mounting point on the back of your car. A little additional support when you have the bike rack maxed out to its full capacity. That concludes this demo of this Thule roadway bike rack. It's a really nice bicycle rack, one of the top brands out there.
