SportRack hitch mounted three bike folding carrier demonstration
Before we put a bicycle on here, you have to determine if you have a 2 inch receiver hitch, or 1 1/4 inch receiver. One of the nice features about this rack is that you can switch it over to both sizes. We'll actually show you how to switch it over to the 1 1/4 inch hitch today. To convert the shank over to 1 1/4 inch, it's just a simple matter of unscrewing one screw and popping off the plastic sheath around it. Again before we put the bikes on, let me show you some of the features of the little clamps themselves. With the clamp itself, you can unbolt it to tilt it from side to side. Also the clamp is adjustable, having four holes of adjustment to allow for different thicknesses of frames. Lets go ahead and put on a bike to show you how the clamps work.
One nice detail about the sport rack is that in the cradles themselves you can see there's grooves in the rubber lining there, they are for allowing the cables on your bicycle to fit inside there and provide a little bit of relief so they won't rub up against the frame of your bike. Another nice feature about this bicycle rack is that the cradles themselves can tilted allowing versatility with different frame types. Some alternative frames have a slanted cross tube you can accommodate that without any special adapters due to the tilting ability of it. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to do that. Next we'll install a bike with an alternative frame, we'll show how beneficial the tilt ability is on this rack. As you can see with two installed it shows the tilt ability of this bicycle rack. We only put two on here but this can accommodate three bikes. As you probably noticed as we put the bicycle on this knob on the end here is different from the rest, that's because another feature of this rack is a locking knob. Basically what is does is you can spin it on, and when you take the key off you can't spin it off. You may be wondering why there's only one locking knob. If you only have one knob and put it on the end, and to get the other bikes off you would have to pull those bikes through the first bike. Therefore you only need one locking knob. As you can tell over all this is a good solid bicycle rack, with simple yet beneficial features to it.
