Review of the Rola Roof Mounted Cargo Basket

There are so many options out there that allow you to carry cargo on the outside of the vehicle creating more passenger space inside. This sleek roof mounted basket from Rola does not detract from the look you like of your vehicle, only adds to it. Joe demonstrates how easily it can be installed onto your roof rails and be ready to haul sporting equipment, camping gear, luggage and more allowing you to transport the maximum number of people possible inside and still have room to enjoy each others company! So get ready for your next trip to the park or across the country and do it in style.

Today we are going to show you part number 59504 from Rola, the Rola roof mounted cargo basket. The stylish cargo carrier will clear the interior of your vehicle of clutter. Say for instance you have luggage you do not want to keep inside, you can put it on top of here and strap it down and it will work out great for you. Its durable corrosion resistant construction and universal mounting hardware will mount to virtually any roof rack, factory or after market. Also you can see on the front there it has a fairing to help deflect the wind over your luggage and what not and makes it an overall nice neat package. Also you can see that the tubing on here is all round which again adds to the sleek styling and maybe less wind resistance. Basically the Rola roof mounted cargo basket and how it attaches to the roof rack in the most simplest terms is that it just clamps into place. It has a pretty neat little system here. It has a u-bolt right here that actually goes to the bottom of your rack and these two knobs will actually clamp on in an assembly somewhat like this right here and gets clamped down into place. This opening is filled up by this little plastic bracket that goes between the bars. That way it takes up the slack and works on a variety of different vehicles.

At this point we will go ahead and show you how it gets installed on a typical OEM style roof rack. As you can see here we actually have the cargobasket laying on top of our factory roof rack. What you want to do is adjust the cross members so they sit evenly underneath the rack and also so the rack fits evenly on top of the vehicle so you have room to open your rear hatch also. Now I will go ahead and clamp it in place. Start of by putting the block in between the rear bar of the vehicle and the basket, it just pops into place. This top clamp goes down, and these two little squares where it fits into on that plastic block. Run your u-bolt onto it and then put the other end on. At this point we just run them down tight. And there you have it, now we only have three more to do. Now that we have it sitting there and snugged down, make sure it is the way you want it and then tightened down evenly to make it secure and really tight to your roof rack then you are ready to load your cargo onto it. As you can see we have the Rola roof mounted cargo basket installed and it looks pretty nice on the vehicle, it may add to the look of sportiness or maybe more of a utility look but overall it looks pretty nice. The rounded tubes on there really add to the design and flowing lines on todays SUVs. Also if you have a longer vehicle and have the room for it there is an extension to expand it, that part number is 59505. And there you have it for part number 59504 from Rola, the Rola roof mounted cargo basket.

My experience with etrailer.com has been teriffic. I searched for a couple of days for a wiring harness designed to connect to the stock harness on my toyota Highlander. Etrailer was the only site I could find this part. The directions were online with photos to help identify the installed connectors. I ordered on Monday morning and my item arrived on Wednesday ground UPS. Thank you etrailer for making this so easy and affordable
