Review of the Bike Mounting Kit for the Rola GearSpace 34
Today we are going to show you part number 59409 from Rola. This is the bike mounting kit for GearSpace 34 the enclosed cargo carrier. Each kit includes a steel, hard point channel track complete with the mounting hardware. Quick release fork mount with bungee retainer. The channel track feature enables a user to slide the fork mount into any desired position along the track. The track itself is bolted onto the cargo carrier with the existing holes. Now we will show you how it works. We are going to open up the cargo carrier and show you where the tracking mounts onto the body. This is the track itself that bolts to the floor of the body. As you can see it uses the existing holes on the floor. Basically your fork gets mounted to here and then your bike will just sit further back. Now we will go ahead and show you how it works.
Go ahead and tighten it up just like your wheel. You can also secure the front wheel of your bike right next to the frame using your bungee cord. The bungee cord comes like this and what you do is push the one end through plastic head. Then pull this part until it gets skinny and caught on the teeth and it will not go anywhere. We will go ahead and just attach the front tire to our frame here which you can do a variety of different ways. This seems to clamp around the rim nicely so we will do it this way. You also have these bar extensions here. They do come in a variety of different lengths but a normal design like this one here will fit just nicely inside the carrier. Next you can close it back up and you have one bike stored and secure and nobody knows what you have in there.
We will go over a few key points again here just transport these bikes inside the GearSpace 34 part numbers 59105 and 59106 can accommodate the 2 bikes with enough clearance to close the lid around the upstanding bikes. This offers the best in bike protection since it encloses the bikes. The fork kit includes obviously the fork mount and mounting hardware. The track and 3 foot bungee cord retainer for the transport of one bike. This part comes with a 5 year warranty.
