Demonstration of the 1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Adapter by Brophy
This product converts your 1 1/4 inch receiver hitch up to a 2 inch receiver hitch for certain applications such as cargo carriers or bike racks. We'll show you how it gets installed on the hitch, it's pretty simple. It just plugs in like so, install your pin and clip and you're good to go. A couple of things you want to take note of, the adapter itself is rated at 350 pounds of tongue weight. However, when it's plugged into your hitch you want to limit your hitch to about 175 pounds tongue weight. Basically it cuts it in half. So if you have 350 pounds of tongue weight originally, with this adapter it's going to cut it in half to about 175 pounds of tongue weight to deal with. Typical applications of this are bike racks, two inch cargo carriers will work on this, however you want to be careful how much weight you put on there. That pretty much covers it for part number HTAD, the 1 1/4 inch to 2 inch adapter bar.
