Erikson Car Tie-Down with Adjustable Axle Strap and Ratchet Review

This is a 2 inch by 8 foot long, 10,000 pound rated deluxe car tie down with a built in axle strap. We will go over and cover some of the finer points of this device and show you how it works. Starting with the ratchet, it is a little bit better better than most conventional ratchets you see because it has a bit longer handle for extra leverage. This unit does have an oversized hook, compared to lighter duty models. The same also applies for the tie-down axle strap here. Some models actually have this coming straight out in the hook, which makes for a twist in the webbing here. With this model here the actual hook is twisted and does one continual loop basically with no twisting. This axle strap is adjustable in the length here with this buckle. So you can make it as large or small as you need to. Well now demonstrate how this works

We have our little mock up here and basically we will start off with the axle strap itself, this will go around your axle. You can see the red padded section touches your axle and we will go here to the ratchet and tie it down where you want. Once you have that accomplished it is a simple matter of tightening it down and taking up your slack. You can see this is still protecting your axle and it is well secured to your axle here and your car will be properly secured.
