Draw-Tite 3 Bike Towing Bike Rack Demonstration
As you can see this bicycle rack lends itself to towing applications as well. What this bicycle rack does is actually wrap around your existing draw bar or draw bar that has to be purchased separately, will convert it to haul bicycles and a light duty trailer at the same time. As you can see the bicycle rack is adjustable on the shank of the draw bar itself, depending on how much clearance you need. The closer you can get to the vehicle is better. Another nice feature about this rack is that it can be titlted out of the way in case you need to get into the back of your truck, wagon, or SUV. First off you unlock it, pull it up and let it come back. Our next feature is the cradles themselves, it's a nice one piece unit with one lid carrying all the bicycles, no separate pieces to worry about. Also if you notice in the cradle there are grooves to allow room for the cables so they don't get smashed up against the bike. Now we'll show you how a couple of bikes get installed on this rack. First we'll take the top plate off, set our bikes in place and put the plate back on. As you can see that's how a standard frame bicycle will sit on the rack. Now we'll show you how an alternative frame bike will sit on the rack. We have our bikes in place, lets put our top plate on and screw it down. There you have it, your bikes are clamped into place, you're ready to tow and go. As a final note, we'll show the width of the cradles themselves to show you how much room you have to work with your bike, especially kids bikes. It looks like the total width overall is 4 1/2 inches. There you have it, the bicycle rack from Draw-Tite, part # 40123, the 3 bike towing carrier for a two inch receiver hitch only.
