From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 19 inches, and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about 3 inches.Now I'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. Now to start off our install, we'll go ahead and show you where the hitch mounts up. Its going to mount up using this oval hole at the bottom of the bumper bracket and the second place is going to be this hole right behind the rear suspension shackle.more

From the center of the hitch inaudible 00:00:15 hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is four inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is ten inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. Now go ahead with installation. Notice part of this install we'll need to get into the spare tire well. We've already gone ahead and removed the spare tire and tools. Now we're ready to get underneath the vehicle and remove the under-body panel on the passenger side. To remove this panel, there are multiple fasteners, three torque fit fasteners and two plastic nuts.more

Now, let's go ahead and install our hitch. First we'll go ahead and point out the mounting locations that we'll be using to secure our hitch to the vehicle. Before we can attach the hitch, we will need to clean out the existing weld nuts.more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Dodge Ram Pick-Up 2500 Series we'll be installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Part No. C15809. Here's what our hitch looks like installed in our vehicle. We'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 3 1/2", from the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 21". Now let's go ahead an install our hitch. Let's go ahead and first begin by pointing out the attachment points that we'll be using to mount our hitch. There's a total of 6 attachment points, 3 on each side. For the two forward most locations, one on each side we'll be using the 3" long square hole spacer blocks with a 9/16 carriage bolts and a 9/16 flange nut. We'll go ahead and use the fish wire provided with the kit.more

Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. Let's go ahead and first begin by pointing out the attachment points that we'll be using to mount our hitch. There's a total of six attachment points, three on each side. Now for the two forwardmost locations, one on each side, we'll be using a 3-inch long square hole spacer block, the 9/16 carriage bolt and the 9/16 flange nut.more

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately five inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 10-3/4 inches. Now lets go ahead and install our hitch. Well begin here underneath the vehicle by installing a safety strap to help support the exhaust once we remove four exhaust hangers. Well go ahead and hook our safety strap in first and then were going to use a little spray lubricant and a large pry bar to work four rubber exhaust hangers loose.more

This will connect the hanger brackets for the exhaust to the frame. Well go ahead and remove these exhaust bolts and allow the exhaust to hang down some. Well do this on both sides of the car. Today on our 2012 Ford Escape, we'll be installing Hidden Hitch - part number 87626. This is what our hitch will look like once installed. Next, well go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is one and a quarter inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is eighteen and three quarter inches. This will assist you selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and point out the attachment points. For this application, we'll be using the pre-drilled holes in the frame by the manufacturer. There will be a total of six attachment points, three on each side. Our forward attachment point will be here in the bottom of the frame, and the center and rear attachment points will be in the side of the frame. Over on the passenger's side, we'll need to lower the exhaust to make it easier to get our hitch and hardware into position. To lower the exhaust, we'll spray the rear exhaust hanger with some spray lubricant and then using our pry bar to remove the rubber isolator from the metal hanger. Now, we'll go ahead and start putting our hardware in place.more

To begin our install, we'll first go in and point out the attachment points. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch and hull to the outermost edge of the bumper, it's pretty well even, but the hitch receiver tube does stick out approximately two and a half inches past the outermost edge of the bumper. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately fourteen and a half inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. Now you'll notice we've already gone and lowered the spare tire down to make the installation just a little bit easier. Next we'll need to go ahead and remove the two plastic appearance panels - one on the driver's side as well as one on the passenger's side. To remove these, you'll need to remove a combination of bolts as well as push fasteners. The bolts that you'll need to remove require a ten millimeter socket. The push pin fasteners, you can remove by taking a flathead screwdriver and working out the centerpiece of the push pin fastener, and then the rest of the fastener will pull out. Now that we have both plastic appearance panels removed, we're going to need to remove each of the tow hooks.more
