Today, on this 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse, we're going to review and install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Class I 1-1/4" receiver hitch, part number 24754. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on our Eclipse. I notice it's very tight up underneath the bumper fascia right here, and it's very close maybe within 1/4", and this is going to be our 1-1/4" opening right here. Look onto the side right here. There's a hole for a hitch pin. This uses a 1/2"-diameter hitch pin or your favorite locking hitch pin. Underneath here, it does come with some safety chain loops right here. This will work with a wide variety of safety chains. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Toyota Highlander - Curt

Today on our 2016 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C13200. What I like most about this hitch is how it's pretty close to flush, so it should give us room for just about any type of accessories that you may want to use with this. With where it sits, the cross tube is pretty well hidden to where it maintains a really clean look on the vehicle. It's got the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening with this nice welded on reinforcement collar around it to make it look nice and heavy duty, but also give it a very clean look. It's got the plate-style safety chain connection points with the nice large holes in order to connect your safety chains to, so it really shouldn't be a problem in order to get any safety chains that you may have connected to that. Standard five eighths inch hitch pin hole, which is going to be good for all your class three accessories. It features a nine hundred pound max tongue weight, which is the total downward force on the hitch, and a six thousand gross trailer weight, which is going to be the weight of the trailer and anything that's on it. In use with the weight distribution system, the max tongue weight is still nine hundred pounds, but the gross trailer weight goes up to eight thousand pounds. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Curt

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be installing the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C15572. This is a Class V hitch, so it can handle a substantial amount of weight. That's why we need to have this frame, versus just utilizing the factory hitch attachment points that would be right here on a small square. It's very heavy duty. They're made to handle a lot of weight and abuse. You can just see by the thickness of our safety chain loops here how substantial it is, being welded all to the bottom of the receiver, and all the way back to the frame of the hitch itself. This hitch will work great for you if you're in construction, or doing a lot of heavy duty work with heavy duty equipment, and you have to tow a big trailer behind you with a lot of weight, but you can't utilize a goose neck or a fifth wheel trailer, this will work out perfectly for you. We have these easy use safety chain loops right here. We have our standard 5/8ths inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, and a nice collar welded around the opening of our receiver to add some reinforcement to it. more

Best 2017 Kia Sportage Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2017 Kia Sportage. The first hitch that we're going to be looking at is going to be the CURT class three hitch, part number C13281; followed by the Draw-Tite class three, part number 76074; then the CURT class two, part number C12158; and finally, the Draw-Tite class two, part number 36593. The primary difference that you're going to see between the CURT hitches and the Draw-Tite hitches up here is the way that the safety chain connection points are designed. On the CURTs they've got the flat steel safety chain connection points, but on both Draw-Tites they've got the safety chain connections that come down underneath the bottom of the receiver tube opening. Another difference that you'll see is here on the Draw-Tite it's got this little l-bracket that comes out that's welded off the crosstube here on the frame. What that's there for is to give you a mounting place for wiring if you choose to have it outside the vehicle. Up here on that CURT, it doesn't have anything like that, so you'd have to get an extra bracket in order to do that. Here on the class three Draw-Tite it's got two pinholes in the side. more

Today on our 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be taking a look at and installing the CURT class three trailer hitch receiver, part number C13362. This hitch is for Caravans without stow-and-go seating. What I like most about this hitch is how far it comes out and how easy everything is here to access around the receiver tube, so it should be easy to get any pins or hitch locks or anything like that on and off, and getting your accessories shouldn't be a problem mounted on the hitch. As you can see, everything's pretty well hidden away except for the receiver tube and safety chain connections right here. This does come out plenty far to make sure that it's going to give you plenty of room with just about any accessory that you may want to mount in here. You shouldn't really need to worry about clearance to the rear of your vehicle. Features the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening with a nice reinforcement collar around it that helps give it a clean look but also makes it nice and sturdy. more
