Now Let's go ahead and install our hitch. We're going to begin by opening the rear hatch of the vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and lift up the rear covering pieces here, cause we're going to need to gain access to this location right here. We'll need to remove the cover by simply twisting it. Then you can see that there's a nut right there.more

Some models will have dual exhaust system, so each process you do to lower or remove the exhaust system will need to be done one both sides in those applications. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We're going to need to go ahead and lower this carbon canister down here on the passenger side. To do this, there are three nuts that will need to be removed to get the main body of the carbon canister out of the way, two at the rear of the vehicle and one in the center on the front of the canister. With this lowered out of the way, we'll need to remove two more bolts that hold the bracket to the frame of the vehicle.more
