Michelin Easy Grip Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt- Video

Today on our 2010 Chevy Cobalt we'll be test fitting the Michelin Easy Grip Composite Snow Tire Chains, part number 9800400. Now these chains will improve your driving safety on treacherous roads. They use a poly-mesh construction and steel cleats to provide grip while also offering a smoother, quieter ride than metal chains. To begin our installation all we'll need to do is take the chain out of the bag, drape it over the tire making sure that the metal cleats stay centered in the tire tread. As we work the chain around the tire, we'll need to rotate the tire 180-degrees where we can then get out and install the rest of the chain. You'll notice that the red straps pull tight because of the elastic band on the inside of our tire chains.more

Thule XB16 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Toyota Tacoma- Video

Today, on our 2010 Toyota Tacoma with tire size 245-7516, we will be installing the Thule Standard Snow Tire Chains for SUVs. This is part number TH 01571255. Now, these chains have de-shaped links for excellent traction in snow and ice. The built in rubber tensioners help to ease installation and these chains only require 16 mm of clearance. Now, to install the chain, well first lay the chain out on the ground and take out any tangles or knots within the chains. Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Toyota Tacoma- Video

Today on our 2010 Toyota Tacoma, with tire size 245 7516, well be installing the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains part number PW 1046.Now, to begin our test bit, well need to lay the chains out on the ground and make sure that we get any kinks or knots out of the chains themselves. With that done, we can then drape our chains over the tire, making sure that the labeling here on the cross chain hook that says tire side faces the tire. Another good indication is to make sure that the hook of the chain faces out. Now that our chains are draped over our tire and centered in the tire tread, well work our way down to the 6 oclock position here on the inside of the tire, where we can connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking up as much of the slack within the chain as possible. We can then move to the outside of the tire, where well take the two ends of the outside chain and hook them together, again, taking up as much of the slack as possible. Now, when taking up the slack, youll want to make sure that you stay within one link of the chain on either side.more

Today, on our 2003, Chrysler PT Cruiser, well be test fitting the Thule Standard Snow Tire Chains for Passenger Vehicle, part number TH 01221090 with tire size 205 55-R16. Now, to begin our test fit on this chain, well lay the chain out on the ground and make sure that we get any kinks or tangles out of the chain itself. With that done, well take the blue cable with the yellow end and slide it around our tire, working our way from the back of the vehicle toward the front. We can then grab both ends of the blue cable, bring it up to the 12 oclock position and here, well connect the two ends together. We can then allow the blue cable to slide back behind the tire, where we will make sure our tire chains are centered on our tire tread. Now here, on the 12 oclock position, on the outside of the tire, well take the red chain link and the red hook and hook the two together.more

Today on this 2012 Nissan Frontier, were going to do a test fit of the Thule Tire Chains, part number TH01571265. This is Thules XP16 tire chains. Now Ill be working with the tire size of 265/75-R16. To make things easier to see and how the snow chains interact with the tire, were going to do this install on a ramp. First off, well take our snow chain and well take the one yellow end with the knob on it and run it through the backside of the tire towards the front and then well grab the other half and bring both halves up towards the top of the tire routing them behind the tire. Well lineup the two together and then connect them to make sure that the blue part of the chain is going to be hidden behind the tire and then well pull the rest of the chain over the top of the tire.more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart we'll be test fitting a set of the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW1034. Before we get started, we'll lay the chain out flat and make sure there's no kinks, and determine our anchoring points. Up at the top of the chain are our keyhole anchor points. This is where we're going to slide our various stops in to secure the chains around the tire. There's also a pair of clips here, one on either side, that we'll use to secure the access to the cable end. There are hooks that connect the cross pieces of the chain to our cable all the way down. They're bent around the cable and we need to make sure that the sharp edge faces away from the tire and that the smooth edge here on the inside is what makes the contact with the tire.more

Well then pull out the lever and step down on the self-tensioning device. Now these tire chains are self-tensioning, so you will need to drive a little bit for the tire chains to become tight against the tire. Now along with these tire chains having a quick and easy installation, they removal is quick and easy as well.more

Today on our 2003 Lincoln Town Car, we'll be installing the Thule Self-Adjusting Snow Tire Chains, part number TH00204104, on a tire size P225-60/R17. First, to install the snow tire chains, we'll take the blue cable and feed it around the back of the tire, back out towards the front, creating a C around the tire. Then, we'll take the two ends of the blue cable, pulling them to the top of the tire towards the back, connecting the two ends, feeding the J-hook into the locking mechanism. Next, we'll take the tire chain, bringing it out towards the front of the tire, draping it over the tire. Then, we'll take the red chain hook and red link, connecting the two at the top of the tire. Then, move to the bottom of the tire and take our cable, feed it through the pulley tensioner, and pull it tight, securing the bottom of the tire chain.more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner with tire size 265/70-17 we'll be test fitting the Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners, part number PWD2328SLC.To begin our test fit, we'll go ahead and set the chains on the ground, where we'll make sure we getany knots or kinks out of the chains themselves. This will ensure an easier and faster fit. We can nowdrape the chains over the tire, making sure that the cross chains are centered over the tire tread. Agood indicator of installing the chains correctly is making sure that the attachment point for thecross chains to the side chain hook faces out, as well as making sure that the cam tighteners are onthe outside of the tire. With that done, we'll move to the inside of the tire here at the six oclockposition and connect the two ends of the side chain together. Today on this 2012 Nissan Frontier, were going to do a test fit of part number th04805265 from Thule; this is XD16 snow tire chains. A couple notes about our test fit, is that well be working with a tire size of 265/75/R16. Now were going to do a test fit on the ramp to give a better view of whats going on and how to install the chains. Well start off with our test fit by taking the yellow end of the cable on our snow chain and working form the back to the front wrapping around the backside of the tire. Then well bring both ends up to the top of the tire and connect the two. Well let it sit on top of the tire for now and then well go ahead and pull the chain over the top into the front of the tire.more

Today in our 2013 Ford Edge we will be installing the glacier cable snow tire chains, part #PW1046, with tire size P235/65-R17. Now these cable chains are perfect for the occasional use. They are rugged steel wire covered with hard steel rollers for traction. To begin with the installation we will lay our chains out flat on the ground and make sure we get out any tangles or kinks that may be in the chains. Now we will lay the chains over the tire making sure that the cross-chains are centered on the tread of the tire and the hooks are facing out. After we drape the chains over the tire we will need to move to the inside of the tire where we will go ahead and take the cable eyelet and fit it through the opposite side cable end.more

Thule CG9 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2003 Lincoln Town Car- Video

Today on our 2003 Lincoln Town Car, well be installing the Thule Self-Adjusting Low Profile Snow Tire Chains, part number TH00023104 on tire size Pss5-60/R17. To begin our install, well take one set of our cable chains, feed one end of the blue cable around the backside of the tire creating a C around the tire. Then well bring both ends of the blue cable up to the top of the tire and connect them into each other. Now well take the chain and drape it over the tire towards the outside of the tire. Then well take the self-tensioning metal red hook and hook it into the red link and then well take the cable and feed it through the cable tensioning pulley, pulling it taunt locking our tire chains in position. Next well take the self-adjusting red cable hook and connect it to the cable chain hook.more
