Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be test fitting the Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack using part number wb-s25 and part number wb-k624. To begin our test fit weve already gone ahead and assembled our crossbars according to the instructions found within the Fit Kit. The initial setup does take a little bit of time but after that it's locked into place and they can be removed and reinstalled very easily.We'll now begin by installing the studs that will hold our Whispbars in place. On the roof rack here we'll remove the torques bolts that hold the rail onto the vehicle. We're going to go ahead and remove the first bolt toward the front here on the passenger side rail. With that bolt removed we'll take that stud included with the Whispbars as well as the lock nut and the nylon washer and start it into the hole here on our roof.Once we've got pretty of thread in the hole on the roof we can then take the lock nut and lock it down using the included wrench.more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Hyundai Sonata- Video
Today, on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata, well be test fitting the Yakima Q-Tower Roof Rack System using Part Number Y00409, Y00683 and Y00124. Because we need four for this vehicle, well actually be using two of the Y00683s.Now, to begin our test fit, weve already gone ahead and set up our roof rack system according to the instructions found within the fit kit. To begin, by placing the front crossbar over our roof, where well take a measurement. Well measure from the edge of the windshield back on the roof, 13 inches. This will be the location of the leading edge of our crossbar tower. Well do this on both sides of the vehicle, giving us the proper location for the front cross bar.We can now work back and forth with the clamps, clamping it to the roof of our Sonata.more

Thule AeroBlade Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford Fusion we'll be test fitting the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System using part numbers tharb53, th480r and thkit1529. Now we've already gone ahead and pre-assembled our roof rack system according to the instructions found within the Fit Kit. We'll begin our test fit by taking the front crossbar placing it on top of our roof where we'll need to do a measurement.We'll measure back form the edge of our windshield eight inches. This will be the location of the leading edge of our crossbar foot. We'll do this on both sides of the vehicle to ensure that the feet are in the correct position according to Thule as well as that the crossbar is perpendicular with the vehicle's roof.We can then work back and forth using the included torque tool found within each foot to tighten down our feet to the roof line of the vehicle. Now remember you may need to open the doors in order to allow the clamp to fall into the door opening as this is where it clamps down.more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Hyundai Sonata- Video
Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata, we'll be test fitting the Thule roof rack system. We'll be using the 58" square load bars, part number THLB58; the traverse foot pack, part number TH480; and the fit kit specific to this vehicle, part number THKIT1577. To install the roof rack, first we'll open the driver and passenger side doors in the front. We'll set our front load bar up on top of the roof line, and check the instructions for the measurement to properly set the bar. We need to measure 13-3/8" from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the traverse foot on either side of the vehicle. Once we have the bar into position, we'll fit our clamps against the roof line of the vehicle, and use the included AcuTight wrench to tighten it down.more

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be installing a Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack. We'll be using the 53 inch AeroBlade bars, part number tharb53, the Rapid Traverse Feet, part number th480r and the Fit Kit for our vehicle, part number thkit1577. To install the roof rack the first thing we need to do is open the front doors on both the passenger and driver side. Once we've done that well take the bar and set it up on top of the roof and use the instructions to properly measure and space the bar on the vehicle.To position the front bar we need to measure 13 3/8 of an inch from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the Rapid Traverse Foot. We'll do this on both the passenger and driver side. With the front bar in position we'll use the included AcuTight wrenches to tighten it down according to the instructions.more

Whispbar Rail Bar Roof Rack Review - 2007 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on our 2007 Honda Pilot, we'll be test fitting the Whispbar rail bar roof rack for raised factory side rails, part number WB-S46. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front cross bar on the front part of our side rails. Once we have this in position, we need to make sure that the bar is lined up on each side. To do this, I found a fixed point on the side rail and made sure that I put each foot pack on that fixed point on both sides. Once we have the bar in the correct position, with the feet around our side rails, we can then go ahead and use the included Allen key to tighten down each foot. Once we have the cross bar secured to our side rail, we can then go ahead and place the cover back on and lock it into position.more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander- Video
Today on our 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander we'll be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System using load bars 53 inches in length, part number tharb53 and the Thule Rapid Crossroad Roof Mounted Railing Foot Pack, part number th450r. We went ahead and pre-assembled the foot pack to our load bars.Now we're ready to go ahead and place the first half of our roof rack on top of our side rails. Once we have the foot packs set on top of our side rails we'll go ahead and bring the rubber coated steel strap underneath each side rail. To make sure that we have the foot pack in the right location there's an arrow indicator on the foot pack that should be lined up with the center of our side rail.Now we want to make sure that the overhang on each side of our vehicle is identical. What Ill do is Ill measure to make sure that I have the same overhang on both the driver side and the passenger side of the Outlander. One of the things that we need to make sure is that these bars according to Thule's instructions need to be a minimum of 24 inches apart.more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, well be test fitting the Thule Crossroads Aero Blade Roof Rack System, part numbers THARB53 and TH450R. Now our vehicle is equipped with factory raised side rails, so to begin our test fit, well place the front crossbar onto the vehicles side rails. Well then measure from a fixed point on the side rail on both the passenger and drivers side of the vehicle to make sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle. Once we have established this position, we can remove the end caps of the feet and bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the crossbar and hook them into position. We will then want to make sure that, the overhang of the Aero Blade is equal on both sides of the feet. After doing so, we can use the included tensioning tool to tighten down the feet to secure the crossbar to the vehicles raised side rails.more

We can then take the included Allen tool found within each foot and tighten down the Allen bolt securing our cross bar to the vehicle.more

Today on our 2008 Nissan Sentra we're going to be test fitting a Rhino Rack Roof Rack, part number da126b and fit kit dk172. We already have the crossbar assemblies put together so now we're ready to go ahead and mount them up on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open both of the front doors. To position our front bar we need to measure 250 millimeters from the center of the door gap between the front and rear door and the center of the front bar. Once we have our position set we can go ahead and tighten down the front crossbar assembly. We'll move back and forth from driver side to passenger side to tighten down the system evenly.more

Today on our 2012 GMC Acadia well be test fitting the Yakima round bar roof racking system part numbers Y00409 and Y00138. Now with our crossbars and rail grabs already assembled were ready to fit the cross bars to our vehicle. Well begin by placing the front crossbar onto the front of the vehicle, well then measure from a fixed point onto the factory raised side rails. Unbolt the passenger and the driver side of the vehicle to ensure that the front crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle and the rail grabs grab correctly on the factory raised side rail. Once we have established this position, well use the included Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to secure the front crossbar to the vehicle. Now for demonstration purposes and for quick installation, Ill be using a drill with an Allen bolt head.more

With our vehicle already equipped with the factory roof rails and our load bars already pre-assembled, we're going to go ahead and fit them to the vehicle. We'll begin by setting the front load bar on top of the vehicle. We need to go ahead and center it from left to right to ensure that the triangles on each foot are over the side rails. You do need to make sure that your load bar is square. To do this, find a fixed point on the side rails and measure to the foot with a tape measure.more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Yakima roof rack system. We'll be using the 58" cross bars, part number Y00409, the Yakima Q towers, part number Y00124, and the Q clips specific to this vehicle, part number Y00607. Now we already have our cross bars assembled according to the instructions, and we're ready to fit them up on our vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open the driver and passenger side doors in the front. We'll set the front cross bar assembly up on top of our roof and get it into position. To position it properly, we need to measure 10" from the leading edge of the Q tower base to the edge of our windshield glass.more

Now with our load bars and feet and fit kit already assembled according to the instructions, we'll begin our test fit by placing the front load bar onto the front of the vehicle. We will then need to measure from the front part of the glass of the front window to the first part of the foot. Now this measurement is stated in the included instructions, so we'll set it according to the instructions at 10-5/8". We'll do this on both the passenger and driver side of the vehicle, making sure that the AeroBlade is perpendicular to the vehicle, also allowing the rubber pads on the bottom of the feet to contour correctly to the vehicle's roof. Once we've established this position, we'll then use the included tensioning tool to turn the bolt on the inside of the foot to tighten down the clips to the roof of the vehicle.more

Today on our 2011 Chevy Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack System using part numbers THARB47 and TH450R. With our roof rack preassembled according to the instructions, we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll set the front load bar on top of the factory raised side rails. We'll bring the rubber coated steel strap underneath the side rails and clamp them to each foot. After making sure the triangles on each lid are pulling directly over the side rails and that our AeroBlade is even with the vehicle, we can go ahead and tighten it down using the included Allen wrench. That will secure the front load bar to our vehicle.more

With our crossbars already assembled according the Yakima fit lookup or the included instructions well place the front crossbar onto the vehicle. Well then need to measure from the front part of the glass to the first part of the tower. This measurement is included again in the Yakima fit lookup or the included instructions. Well measure eight inches on the drivers side and passenger side of the vehicle to make sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle. Once weve established this position onto the roof or our vehicle, well tighten down the bolt on the inside of the tower and secure the tower by clamping down the black plastic cap.more

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic Sedan, well be test fitting the Yakima Round Bar Roof Racking System, part numbers Y00409, Y00699, Y00731 and Y00124. With our roof rack already assembled according to the instructions, well begin our test fit by placing the front crossbar onto the front of the vehicle. Well measure seven inches from the front part of the glass to the first part of the tower on the front crossbar.Well do this on both the passenger and the driver side of the vehicle ensuring that crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle. Once we have established this measurement, well tighten down the bolts inside of the que towers and clamp down the front black plastic cap securing the crossbar to the front of the vehicle. Well now place the rear crossbar on the rear of the vehicle and well measure the crossbar spread. This is the measurement from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar.more

Now with our fit kit and our feet attachment to our crossbars, well begin our test fit by first opening the passenger and driver side door of the vehicle. Well place the front crossbar onto the vehicle and well measure from the first part of the glass to the first part of the feet ten inches. This will ensure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle and the fit kit on the feet fit correctly on the vehicle. Once weve established this measurement for the both the passenger and drivers side of the vehicle, well use the included tensioning tool to tighten down the clips to secure it to the vehicle. Now with the front crossbar secured to the vehicle, well close the doors and open up the rear doors of the vehicle and set our rear crossbar on top of the vehicle.more

Today on our 2010 Chevy Cobalt, well be test fitting the Yakima Round Bar Roof Racking system, part numbers Y00408, Y00722 and Y00124.Now with our crossbars and feet already assembled, we'll first open up the drivers side and passenger side doors of the vehicle and place the first crossbar onto the vehicle.Then, according to Yakimas fit look up or the included instructions, we will measure from the first part of the glass to the first part of the foot. We will need to measure both the passenger and drivers side of the vehicle to ensure that the crossbar is perpendicular.Once we have established this measurement, we can turn the bolt in the inside of the tower and tighten down the lever to secure the crossbar to the vehicle. It is important to tighten down each side a little bit at a time so one tower does not favor one side of the vehicle. After clamping it down, the crossbar is secured to the vehicle and we'll go ahead and close the doors and were ready for our rear crossbar.We'll open up the doors of the rear of the vehicle, place the rear crossbar on top of the vehicle and again according to Yakima fit look up or the included instructions, we'll measure the crossbar spread. Now the crossbar spread is an important measurement when choosing roof rack accessories. We'll measure from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar and we'll do this for both the passenger and drivers side of the vehicle.more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Beetle well be test fitting the Thule square bar roof racking system, part numbers THLB50, TH480 and THKI1660. With our fit kit and feet assembled onto our crossbars, well first begin by placing the front crossbar onto the front of the vehicle. We have found that it is easier to install the clips to the vehicle with both of the windows rolled down. Now, according to the included instructions well measure from the front part of the class to the first part of the foot six and one quarter inches. We will then take the included white plastic card to peel back the rubber trim. Once again, with the windows rolled down it will allow the trim to more easily pull down to be able to get the card inserted.more

Once weve found the correct location for our crossbar, well use the included Allen tool to tighten down the two Allen bolts per foot, securing our roof rack crossbar to the vehicle. Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2004 Mini Cooper- Video
Today on our 2004 Mini Cooper we'll be test fitting the Yakima Round Bar Roof Racking System part numbers y00408, y00683, y00716, and y00124. Now with our Q towers already assembled to our crossbars we'll first start off by locating the slots on the vehicle. We have found that it is easier to insert the Q clips into the hidden slots before installing the bars onto the vehicle. We'll locate the slot using a thin piece of plastic or a credit card. After locating the slot from the measurements Yakima provides we'll slide the Q clip into the hidden slots. Remember that there are two different sets of Q clips.more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Kia Sorento- Video
Today on our 2013 Kia Sorento, well be test fitting the Thule Roof Racking System Square Bars, part number THLB50 and TH450. This is also available in a kit, part number TH45050, which include locks. Now with the roof racking system already assembled, well go ahead and set the front crossbar onto the vehicle. Now with our crossbar onto the vehicle, we will make sure that we get the crossbar centered onto the vehicle. Well measure from the outside of the crossbar to the first part of foot. Well then do this on both sides to make that the crossbar is centered onto the vehicle.more

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape well be test fitting the Yakima Q Tower roof rack system using part numbers Y00409, Y00639, Y00699 and Y00124. Weve already gone ahead and assembled our crossbars according to the instructions found within the fit kit, so were ready to fit it to the vehicle. Well begin with our crossbars already on top of the roof. Well need to take a measurement for our front crossbar first. Well measure from the top of the windshield edge back on our roofline 10 inches. This will be the location of the leading edge of the crossbar towers.more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Escape well be test fitting the Thule square bar roof rack system, part numbers THLB58, TH480 and THKIT1671. Now with our roof rack system already assembled according to Thules fit guide or the included instructions well open the front passenger and drivers side doors of the vehicle and set the front crossbar onto the roof. It is important to have your feet brackets loosened all the way to ensure the correct fit onto the roof of the vehicle. We will then measure from the glass to the first part of the foot 11 inches. Well do this for both the drivers side and passengers side of the vehicle, making sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle. Once we have established this position onto the vehicle well go ahead and tighten down the brackets using Thules included Allen key to secure the crossbar to the vehicle.more

Thule AeroBlade Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Thule Aero Blade roof rack system using part numbers tharb53, th4abr, and thkit1671. Now to begin our test fit weve already assembled our crossbars according to the instructions found in the fit kit, so with that done were ready to place it on top of our roof. Well begin by placing the front crossbar onto the roof where well need to do a measurement. Well measure from the top edge of the windshield back on the root 11-1/2 inches, this will be the location of the leading edge of our cross bar feed, well need to do this on both sides of the vehicle to ensure that the crossbar is perfectly fit to the vehicle. Well then use the included Accu-Torq tool found within each foot to tighten it down working our way back and forth on the vehicle making sure that we tighten them evenly. With both feet tight our front crossbars secured to the vehicle and were ready to move on to the rear crossbar.more

Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2008 Acura RDX were going to be test fitting a Whispbar roof rack system by Yakima. Well be using the S26 flush bars, part number WB-S26 as well as the fit kit for the RDX, part number WB-K490. We already have our roof rack assembled according to the instructions, so now were ready to mount the bars up on the roof. The first thing we need to do is open the passenger and drivers side front doors. Well set our front cross bar up into place and well check the measurements in our instructions to position it properly. We need to measure seven and seven-eighths inches forward from the seam between the two doors to the center line of our front crossbar.more

Whispbar Through Bar Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Acura RDX- Video
Today were working with a 2008 Acura RDX and well be test fitting the Whispbar roof rack system. Well be using through bars, part number WB-S17 as well as the fit kit for our vehicle, part number BW-K490. We already have our crossbars assembled according to the instructions, so now were ready to fit them up on our vehicle. First well open the driver and passengers side front doors and well place our front crossbar assembly up on top of the roof. To position the front bar we need to measure seven and seven-eighths inches from the seam at the doors forward to the center of the crossbar. Once we have this set on boths ides of the vehicle we can go ahead and tighten our locking screws to secure the clamps to our vehicle.more

Yakima Control Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2007 BMW 3 Series- Video
Today, on our 2007 BMW 3 series, we'll be test-fitting a Yakima roof rack system. We'll be using the 48-inch bars, part number Y00408, the Landing Pad 11, part number Y00233, as well as the control towers, part number Y00214. Now, we've already got our roof rack system assembled according to the instructions and we're ready to mount it up on our vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open the doors at the four tension points around the corners of the vehicle. You can use your fingernail or a small screwdriver to help pry them open, but be very careful as they are plastic and they are finished in paint. Once weve done that we can take our four landing pads and begin to thread them on the mounting post.more

Today on our 2008 Toyota Camry well be installing the Thule Traverse Roof Rack System using part numbers THLB50, TH480 and THKIT1438. Now weve already gone ahead and preassembled our roof rack system according to the instructions found within the fit kit so were ready to fit it to the vehicle. Well start by placing our front crossbar on top of the roof, well then measure from the windshield edge back on our roof 9 inches. This will be the location of the leading edge of the front crossbar feet. With our crossbar in place well open the door as the clamp will clamp to the inside of the door opening. We can then tighten down the two feet for the front crossbar using the included torque tool found within each foot.more

SportRack Frontier Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Kia Sorento- Video
Today, on our 2013 Kia Sorento, well be test fitting the SportRack Frontier Roof Rack for Raised, Factory Side Rails, part number A21009N. With our brackets already loosened up, well set one of the crossbars onto the vehicle and measure from a fixed point from the side rail to make sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the side rails. We will then bring the brackets to the underside of the side rails to make sure that when were adjusting the crossbar they stay in place. Well then measure from the outside of the crossbar to the inside of the foot, making sure that the crossbars are centered on the vehicle. Once weve done all this, well go ahead and turn the wing nuts to tighten it down and secure the crossbar to the vehicle. You may need to open your doors and stand on the interior to get a look at the inside of the side rail.more

Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Kia Soul- Video
Today on our 2012 Kia Soul, we will be test fitting the Rhino-Rack roof system, part numbers DA126 and DK237. To begin our test fit with our roof rack system already assembled, well go ahead and set the crossbars onto the vehicle, and with this particular model, well measure from the door seam to the center of the foot. Our measurement is 310 mm. We will again measure from the drivers side, from the center of the foot to the door seam, that way we can get our crossbar perpendicular to the vehicle. Well go back and forth tightening the bracket up against the vehicle, and get a nice fit. Now that were finish with the front crossbar, well go ahead and set the rear crossbar onto the vehicle.more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2007 Dodge Charger- Video
Today on our 2007 Dodge Charger, we'll be testing the Yakima Round Crossbar Roof Racking System, Part Numbers Y00409, Y00699, Y00683 and Y00124. Now, with the roof rack already assembled, we'll go ahead and open the front driver side and passenger side door and set the front crossbar on to the vehicle. We will then check the Yakima fit guide for the included instructions to determine the measurement from the front part of the glass to the first part of the q tower. Our measurement is 8 inches. We'll measure the passenger side, first part of the glass to the first part of the tower, 8 inches then we'll move to the other side where we will do the same. We need to make sure that we get the crossbar perpendicular to the vehicle to ensure the tower gets a good fit to th vehicle.more
