Today on our 2002 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number y02098. Our Escape is equipped with a full factory roof rack so we're going to mount our Forklift directly to the factory crossbars. To do this we'll remove the skewer from the head of the bike rack first.We'll open up the clamp at the head of the bike rack and fit it around our crossbar then we'll tighten it down with the T-bolt and wing nut. Next we'll slide the cover back into place and then we can reinstall our skewer. At the back we'll need to slide the clamp over our rear crossbar and again we'll tighten it down with a T-bolt and wing nut. Now we're ready to load our bike.We'll pick our bike up and place the wheel into the wheel tray and place the front fork down into our skewer.more

Today on our 2002 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. To mount the carrier to our roof rack we'll set it up on top of our load bars. We'll fit the head of the bike rack over our front load bar. We'll fit the bottom clamp around the bottom of our load bar and use the included Allen key to tighten down the Allen head bolts.At the rear of the carrier we'll fit the clamp around our rear load bar and use the Allen key to tighten it down as well. Once we've done that we can take our skewer and reinstall it. Now our bike rack is loaded and we're ready to load.more

Today we'll be reviewing the Whispbar Fork Mounted Roof Mount Bike Rack, part number wb-200. The main feature for this bike rack is that it is the only bike rack on the market that fits a 9mm and a 15mm thru-axle without an adapter. It also fits the standard 5mm quick release skewer as well. Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number y02103. To begin our test fit we'll go ahead and place the bike rack onto the crossbars and we'll make sure that the front clamp here at the head of the bike rack goes around our front crossbar. We'll then move to the rear clamp where we'll make sure that the clamp runs underneath the rear crossbar adjusting it as necessary.We can then take the T-bolt, pass it through the clamp, twist it a quick 90 degrees and tighten down the wing nut securing the rear clamp to the rear crossbar. We'll move back to the head of the bike rack where we'll tighten down the wing nut here on the front clamping the front head to our front crossbar thereby securing our bike rack to the vehicle.We'll now go ahead and fold the front wheel hoop up and undo the strap for our rear wheel. We'll then place the bike into the carrier making sure that the front wheel rolls forward into the front wheel hoop. We'll also want to make sure that the rear front wheel hoop rolls up onto the wheel.more

Today on our 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky1014. To begin our test fit we'll go ahead and place our carrier on top of our load bars. We'll bring around the rubber coated steel straps to the front, fit them into position and then use the Allen key to secure the front part our carrier to the front load bar.Then we want to move to the rear and fit our bracket around our rear load bar. Then we use the wing nuts to tighten down that bracket and secure our rear part of the carrier to our rear load bar. Now we need to go ahead and make sure the skewer at the front of the carrier is open and that the rear strap at the rear is open as well. We'll grab our bike, place it into the wheel cradle and drop the front fork down into the skewer.We'll secure first by tightening the skewer and then we'll move to the rear of the carrier and use the wheel strap to tighten our real wheel.more

At the rear of the vehicle we will take the clamp, fit it around our rear crossbar and use the wing nuts to tighten down the rear clamp. Once thats all done our bike rack is installed and were ready to start putting a bike on.more

We'll use the included Allen key to tighten down our clamp and once the front clamp is secured we can put our skewer back in place. We'll fit the rear clamp around the rear bar and again use the Allen key to tighten it down. With the front and rear of the bike rack secured to the vehicle we're now ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the wheel strap at the back of the wheel tray, pick the bike up and set the rear wheel into the tray and position the front fork into the skewer.more

This is where we'll loosen up the bracket, swing it around the underside of the rear crossbar and use the included Allen key to tighten it down.more

Today on our 2012 GMC Acadia, we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts Pitchfork roof-mounted bike carrier, part number RKY0438. Now with our roof rack system already assembled and onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's cross bars. Note that you cannot access the Allen bolts on the front of the carrier without first removing the black plastic cap, as well as the skewer. We'll loosen up the Allen bolts at the head of the carrier, as well as the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier, bringing both the brackets around the underside of each cross bar. We'll then use an Allen wrench to tighten down the bolts in the front and read of the carrier, securing the brackets to the front and rear cross bar. Once the carrier is secured to the vehicle, we're ready to load our bike.more

Now with our roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle load bars. Well loosen up the front and rear bracket to bring the brackets around the underside of the load bars. Now for the front bracket, you must remove the skewer in order to have access to the front two Allen bolts. Well loosen up the Allen bolts to bring the bracket around the front load bar and then tighten them back in place. Then for the rear bracket well loosen up the Allen bolts and bring the bracket around the rear load bar and then tighten them down with the included Allen key and replace the skewer.more

Well through the bolt back into the bracket and tighten it down securing the rear of the carrier to the rear load bar. Now that the carrier is secure to the vehicle we can go ahead and replace our front black plastic cap and get ready to load our bike. Well loosen up the rear tray strap and place our bike onto the carrier.more

Well lock them into the head and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Then we can go ahead and reinstall the cover that goes over the front head of our bike carrier.more

To mount this bike rack up on top of our vehicle, we are going to set it on top of the front cross bars. Well use the hand knob on the front of the bike rack to tighten down the front clamp around the cross bar. In the rear, we are going to use the wing nut, T-Bolt and the clamp to secure the rear half of the bike rack around our rear bar. With both clamps secure our bike rack is mounted and were ready to load up. To load our bike the first thing we need to do is open up the front wheel hoop all the way.more

Well then remove the black plastic cap on the front of the carrier to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the crossbar. Well loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier to bring the bracket around the rear crossbar and tighten it down as well as tightening down the front bolt on the front of the carrier to secure the rubber coated steel straps to the front crossbar. It is important to make sure before completely tightening down the carrier that, the carrier is perpendicular to the crossbars. This will ensure that, the bracket and rubber coated steel straps fit correctly onto the crossbars.more

Today, on our 2012 GMC Acadia, we'll be test fitting the Rocky Mounts Tire Rod Roof-Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. To begin our test fit, we'll place the Carrier onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll then remove the black plastic head on the front of the Carrier and bring the rubber coated steel straps around the front crossbar, and by loosing up the Allen bolts, we'll bring the back bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar. After hooking the rubber coated steel straps into position, we'll tighten on the Allen bolt on the front of the Carrier as well as the Allen bolts at the rear of the Carrier, securing the rear bracket to the rear crossbar and the rubber coated steel straps to the front crossbar. Now that our Carrier is secured to the vehicle, we're ready to load our bike. We'll loosen up the skewer, as well as the rear tray strap.more

Well then remove the black plastic cap to allow us to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them back into the head of the carrier. Now you may need to loosen up the silver bolt to give you enough strap to come around the front crossbar. Today on our 2011 Chevy Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number TH513. Now with our Thule roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll set the carrier onto the load bars and we can use the Allen key to tighten them both down. In order to tighten down the front part of the carrier, you must remove the skewer first. It's important the carrier is perpendicular to the load bars and parallel to the vehicle to ensure that the brackets have the proper fit onto the load bars. Once you have the brackets tightened down and secured to the vehicle, we're now ready to load our bike. We'll undo the wheel strap at the rear and insert the skewer into the front of our bike rack.more

Today on our 2013 Honda CR-V, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. Our CR-V is already equipped with a factory roof rack so we're going to mount the RockyMounts TieRod directly to the factory cross bars. We'll lift up the carrier and set it on top of our cross bars. We'll feed the straps at the head of the bike carrier around our front bar. Lock them back into the head and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Then we can reinstall the cover on the head of the bike rack.more

Today on our 2011 Chevy Equinox, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. To install the carrier, set it on top of our load bars. Feed the straps at the head of the bike carrier around of the front bar, lock them back into the head, and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Now, it's time to reinstall the cover on the head of the bike rack. At the back, well use a clamp and we'll tighten it down by using the Allen key. Once we've done that, we're ready to load up our bike.more

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Domestique roof-mounted bike carrier, part number TH513. To mount the carrier to our roof rack, we'll set it up on top of our cross bars, and then we can fit the head of the bike rack over our front load bar. We'll lift the bottom clamp around the bottom of our load bar, and use the included Allen key to tighten down the Allen head bolts. Once we have the head of our bike rack secured, we can move to the rear. We want to position the rear clamp and again tighten it down with the included Allen wrench. Once we've done that, we'll take our skewer and reinsert it into the head.more

We will then move to the front of the carrier where we will tighten down the black T-handle to secure the carrier to the vehicle.more

We'll then move back up to the front of the carrier, where we will remove the skewer. After tightening the wing nut, slide the black plastic cap back onto the carrier, and slide the skewer through.more

In no specific order, we'll loosen up the back bracket and the front bracket to bring the back bracket around the rear cross bar and the front clamps around the front cross bar. We can then turn the black T handle at the rear of the carrier to secure the rear bracket to the rear cross bar, and turn the black T handle at the front of the carrier to tighten down the jaws on the front cross bar. Now that the carrier is secured to the cross bars, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll unfold the front part of the wheel mount and undo the tray strap.more

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic sedan well be test fitting the Yakima Forklift roof mounted bike carrier, part number Y02098. To begin our test fit well simply place the carrier onto the vehicles cross bars and in no specific order loosen up the front bracket as well as the rear bracket to bring the brackets around the underside of the front and rear crossbar. Youll want to make sure that the bike carrier is perpendicular to the vehicles crossbars to ensure that the brackets fit correctly on the crossbars. Once weve established this position we can then tighten down the black T handle at the rear of the carrier to secure the rear crossbar to the vehicle, as well as tightening down the black T handle at the front of the carrier to secure the front of the carrier to the front of the crossbar, that when loosening up or tightening the black T handle, you may need to remove a skewer from the head of the carrier in order to remove the front black plastic safety cap. Once we have the carrier secured to the vehicles crossbars were ready to load up our bike. Well loosen up the skewer at the front of the carrier and move to the rear of the carrier and undo the tray strap.more

In no specific order, well loosen up both the front and rear bracket to bring the brackets around the underside of the crossbars. Note that for the front of the bracket, you must first remove the skewer in order to have access to the front two Allen bolts. Well then loosen up the Allen bolts to bring the bracket around the front crossbar; well then tighten them down and replace the skewer. Then for the rear bracket well loosen up the Allen bolts and bring the bracket around the rear the crossbar and then tighten them down with the included Allen key.more

We'll then remove the black front plastic cap on the front of the carrier to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them into position.We can then move to the rear of the carrier where we will loosen up the allen bolt to bring that bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar and tying it down.We can then move up to the front of the carrier, where with the included allen wrench, we can tighten down the allen bolt, tightening the straps to the front crossbar, securing the carrier to the vehicle. After replacing the front black plastic cap, were ready to load our bike.We'll loosen up the tray strap and place the bike onto the carrier. We'll slide the forks onto the skewer and tighten it down and secure the back tire with the tray strap.That completes todays test fit for the Rocky Mounts Tie Rod, Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014 on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.more
