Rola Dart Folding Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Explorer- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Explorer we'll be test fitting the 23x56 Rola Dart Cargo Carrier for Two Inch Hitches, part number 59550. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now we'll go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements.With the cargo carrier in the folded position we have about 13 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the rear of our vehicle is about four inches and we've added 12 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Now go ahead and pull the orange handle at the top of the carrier to allow our carrier to unfold.With it in this position we now have a ground clearance of about 17 inches and overall length of 36 inches and we have 16 inches from the closest part of the carrier to our exhaust which exits on both the driver and passenger side of our vehicle.more

Rola Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video

Today, on our 2013 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Rola 23 inch by 56 inch Railed Cargo Carrier, part number 59502. To mount our Carrier to the vehicle, we'll insert the shank of the Carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and secure the Carrier with the standard 5/8 inch pin and clip. Next, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. At the rear of the Carrier, we've got about 13 inches of ground clearance. From the closest point of the Carrier to the closest point of the rear of our vehicle is about 7 1/2 inches.more

Yakima DryDock Hitch Boat Support Review- Video

Today well be reviewing the Yakima drydock with support bar and load stops, part number Y02449-3. This kit includes the upright mast, the support arms, the 58 inch crossbar, the support straps, the load stops and mounting hardware.To begin our review, well start with the installation onto the vehicle. Well slide the upright mast into the opening our hitch, line up the hitch pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten them with a wrench. The anti-rattle bolt reduces rattle in the hitch for a smoother ride.Well then take one of the drydock support arms and slide it onto the upright mast. Well then slide the mounting hardware bolts through the mast and the support arm. Youll need to make sure that your support arms are level with your vehicles roof rack system.Once weve established this height on the mast, well put the other support arm on the other side, insert our other hardware and tighten that with a wrench securing the support arms to the upright mast.more

Cargo Carrier Light Kit Installation- Video

Today on our Rola 23X56 Dart Cargo Carrier for two inch hitches, well be installing part number 20174. Now were going to go ahead and start running our wiring through the cargo carrier. Well pass our for pole connector through the wire mesh here next to the brakes. We will need to be careful as the wiring is just long enough to reach the lights while still being able to be plugged into the vehicle. We can then take the part of our harness with the yellow wire in it and route it over to our left hand side cutout in the carrier. Well then slide our rubber light holder over the harness and connect our light.more

Thread the anti-rattle bolt through the threaded pin hole and tighten with a wrench. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the cargo carrier and the vehicle fit together. There is about 15 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about six inches.more

Today on our 2008 Dodge Nitro we'll be test fitting the Curt 20 inch by 60 inch folding aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. To mount our carrier we'll insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our hitch pin holes and secure the carrier with a pin and clip. Next we'll go over a handful of clearance measurements. We've got about 12 1/2 inches of ground clearance and about 3 1/2 inches of clearance between the closest part of the bumper and the closest part of the carrier.
