MagnaFlow Exhaust Installation - 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP- Video

Today on this 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP we are going to install part number MF16726 from MagnaFlow. The first thing you do is get underneath the vehicle and we will spray down the bolts that are on the exhaust with some penetrant and that should hopefully loosen them up. When a car is a few years, these fasteners will be rusted pretty well so you may end up breaking them. So be prepared to just replace the fasteners. Now we are going to leave this nut partially on for now because we need to hold it up while we disassemble the rest of the exhaust. So we will move on down towards the back of the vehicle and we will add a strap to help hold up the exhaust while we remove the rubber isolators. Ok, we are going to spray down the rubber isolators with some penetrant and go ahead and remove them. It looks like we have them all done on the passenger side. Now we will move over to the driver side and remove those. 1:00more

MagnaFlow Exhaust Installation - 2007 Ford F-150- Video

Today on a 2007 Ford F-150 we will be installing a MagnaFlow performance exhaust, part number MF16523. Our first procedure is going to be soaking down our clamp and hardware. I highly recommend that you soak this down several times and let it sit for at least 30 minutes before trying to break this nut loose. These bolts tend to become extremely rusted and very difficult to remove. As you can see, we have already gotten this nut broken loose. This clamp is loose but, if it becomes difficult to back off, I recommend that you work the nut back and forth, on and off, breaking free the rust that has built up in the threads of the clamp. After giving it a few taps with the hammer, you will notice that the clamp came loose and broke the rust free. Now that my clamp is loose, I just want to spread it open a little bit to make it easier to remove the exhaust pipe. 0:58more

MagnaFlow Exhaust Installation - 2005 GMC Sierra- Video

Alright, today on this 2005 GMC Sierra we are going to install part number MF15841. Alright the first thing we need to do is go ahead and start getting the truck ready to install the exhaust. What we did is removed the spare tire. You do not have to do that but it makes things a lot easier to get to. It makes everything easier to see as well. Now we also have to remove the exhaust. So what we are going to do first off is go ahead and start removing the rubber hangers from the exhaust and also the bolts that connect the exhaust to the catalytic converter up front. So we are going to loosen these up first. That way, it puts less stress on the pipes up front when we disconnect the exhaust. Now you want to spray these down really go with a type of penetrant so you do not break the bolts. OK, we have that one loose. 1:05more

You do not have to do that but it makes things a lot easier to get to and see. The next thing we are going to do is spray down the bolts going towards the catalytic converter. Let it sit for awhile and we will go ahead and loosen them up. And also, you will notice, this is not the original factory connection going to the catalytic converter too. This is actually another aftermarket exhaust. We will leave that set for now. Now we will go back to the rest of the exhaust and remove all of the rubber hangers. Just spray them down with some lubricant also and pull them apart. Alright, we will just push it to one side and pull it out. And then we will pull out the other side. You should be able to pull it all out as one piece. 0:56more

This is our converter right here and at this flange point we are going to unbolt right here and from here on back is going to get removed from the vehicle. On the bolts themselves we sprayed down with some penetrate and let it sit for at least an hour or so. The nut on the top is going to be a different size nut also. Leave that alone for now. 00:50more

You need to do a couple of things in preparation before we get started installing our exhaust system. First we want to disconnect the vehicles battery. This will allow the computer to reset itself once we get the new system in place and that will help prevent electrical accidents. If your vehicle has four wheel drive we also need to go ahead and remove the transfer case rock shield. There are four bolts holding it on two per side. We will just set that off to the side for the time being. We also need to go ahead and remove the lower bolt from the rear passenger side shock. Again this will allow us to swing the shock out of the way to help make the removal of the system easier. 00:54more
