Today we are going to be installing wireless backup camera 086338 on a 2006 Honda Odyssey. I have laid out all the components of the wireless system here, and we are going to kind of go through them just to show you what we are looking at. This is the camera, which is going to be mounted in front of your license plate at the rear. Here we have got two wires coming off the end cable. The red is going to go to our reverse lead that we are going to hook in behind the tail light assembly, and the black is a ground, which we can either ground it to the vehicle itself or also tap into a ground wire near the tail light assembly. You can see also on this cable we have got a 3.5-millimeter jack. Initially the system is wireless. This jack here is actually for use with the extension cable that we sell separately. And what that will do is this will actually hook in the camera to the monitor itself, and it will no longer be wireless. On the monitor itself, we have actually got a couple of different mounting options for it. We have got this mount here, which you can see comes with Velcro. The monitor will sit in there like so. We have also got a clip here, which will allow you to mount the monitor into a vent that may be nearby. And then we have also just got regular Velcro you mount it to the back of the monitor, and you just Velcro it to an area up by the dashboard as well. Also on the monitor, we have got two different options for powering it. We have got the 12-volt plug-in here it will plug into any standard cigarette lighter outlet. Or you can actually hard-wire it into a 12-volt power source with this plug-in right here. So, for this particular installation, we are going to be using the extension cable, which is part number WBCAC25. more

Today we are going to be installing Valley hitch part number V82683 on a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country. You can see underneath here we have got three existing bolts here on the bottom of the frame. These are going to provide the three attaching points for the trailer hitch. We are going to need to remove all three of those bolts, and we will actually be reusing those for the hitch attachment. Over here on the passengers side, we will be using the same three attaching points. The bolts are already in the frame. As you can see, we have got the exhaust that is in the way, so we are going to need to lower that first before we can get started. We have got a hanger right here on the outboard side of the frame. We are going to be removing the exhaust from that hanger. That should give us enough clearance to go ahead and get the hitch up. To get the exhaust off of its hanger, we will have to go ahead and spray it down with a lubricant, like a WD-40. And you can see as I pull away from the exhaust now I should have enough room to get the bolts out of the frame. As you can see here, with the exhaust pulled out of the way, we have got the AC lines running in between the two forward-most bolts. We want to make sure not to pinch those when we put the hitch up into position. There is a cutout in the hitch itself to ensure that that does not happen. more

Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13322 on a 2002 GMC Sierra. The first thing you want to do is go ahead and lower the spare tire to get it out of your way. OK, we are looking at the drivers side of the vehicle here. At the bottom of the frame you can see we have got an existing bolt. We are going to be removing that off both sides of the vehicle, and we will be replacing that with new hardware. Just forward of that is an existing hole as well that we are going to be using a carriage bolt and block - just it down from the top of the frame, down into place. And then here on the bumper itself we have got two existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide the rear-most attaching points for the trailer hitch. And again, we are going to be using the hardware that is provided in the installation kit. We will go ahead and take our carriage bolt and block and that into place. The next thing we want to do is go ahead and remove the bolts from the end of the frame rail on both sides, and then we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. We are going to replace the bolts that came out of the frame with the new 14-millimeter bolts, along with the conical-tooth washers. We are also going to be using those bolts in the bumper as well. more

Today we are going to show you part number SR26248 from Softride. This is their Element Bike Rack. First off, the Element Bike Rack can be used in two different types of hitches. It can be used in a 2-inch receiver hitch and it also can be used in a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch. However, when you use a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch, you only want to use it on Class II applications. The next feature is a tilt-feature on this bicycle rack. When you tilt it out, the arms on the rack stay level throughout the entire movement. And getting onto the arms, they are removable and they fold up and down or detach if you want for easier storage. The next item we will move on to is the cradles themselves. There is one strap that holds the bike on each cradle. They do have a nice, soft rubber material where the bikes rest their frames on. There are plenty of grooves in there to make room for the cables. And finally, on the end of the rack, there are a couple of loops on there with some reflectors, for a little bit of extra visibility on the back of the vehicle. And also, you can use those loops to tie down your bicycles favorite locking cable. more

Today we are going to be installing Valley hitch part number V82790 on a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. We are looking at the passengers side frame rail, and you can see at the end here we have got two existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide the attaching points for the trailer hitch on the frame. We are going to be using the same weld nuts on the drivers side. There are also going to be two attaching points here at the bumper. You can see at the bottom we have got three existing holes. We are going to be using the two outer holes as attaching points as well. We are actually going to be taking the part of the cover off here, the step bumper, and ping bolts down through there, where we are going to attach it to the hitch. more

Today we are going to install part number 118175 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this on a 2004 Mazda Tribute. What is going to happen is we are going to have to get behind the tail lights. We are going to attach four wires and a ground on the drivers side, and then run the passengers side wire underneath the bumper and then up to the other tail light. So we will go ahead and begin by taking off the tail lights of the vehicle. OK, for now we will just go ahead and disconnect the tail lights. What we are going to do first is actually install the ground screw into the sheet metal right here, and then we will use that for a ground for our tester. Then we will go ahead and start testing the wire functions. more

Now we will show you our attaching points: they are going to be here, here and here. And it is going to be the exact same thing on the drivers side of the vehicle. We will use a wire pull first. We will push it through the bolt hole that we are going to use, out the end of the frame, and then attach our hardware to it. First we will start off with the plate and then we will end up with the carriage bolt, and we will repeat for the rest of the holes in the frame. more

The hitch is going to mount up on these existing holes here and here. Back here will be a hole we will have to drill out. So that is going to require us to get the exhaust moved out of the way so we can drill a hole. And basically it is going to be identical on the drivers side. more

Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13183 on a 2004 Nissan Xterra. OK, we are underneath the vehicle, and the first thing you want to do is to go ahead and remove the spare tire to get it out of the way. Taking a look at the passengers side frame rail here, you can see we have got one, two, three existing holes here at the bottom of the frame. Those are going to provide our attaching points on both sides of the vehicle. With the installation kit, you do have this long plate that it comes with, one for each side of the vehicle. One end has a flat edge the other end has a rounded edge. The rounded edge is the part that actually needs to go inside the frame. The flat edge will be the one toward the bumper. We will just lay that in there and align it over the existing holes. And then we are just going to take our carriage bolts that are provided in the installation kit, and we are going to them down into all three locations. more

Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118244 on a 2004 Nissan Xterra. We are underneath the vehicle. With the spare tire removed we are taking a look at the passengers side frame rail here. You can see right at the top of the frame rail we have got this plug with a cap on it. That is the plug that we are going to need to plug our harness into. I am just going to remove the cap, and I am just going to push the button in on the top here and remove the cap. And then we are just simply going to plug our harness into that and secure any of the extra wires that you may have on the 4-pole, using some zip-ties. And you do want to test all functions to make sure that you are getting power on all active ports. And this will conclude the installation of wiring harness part number 118244 on a 2004 Nissan Xterra. more

What is going to happen is, the hitch is going to install in the bottom of the frame, where this tow hook is right here. This hook is going to be removed, and it is going to use this bolt here and another bolt on the other side. And also there are two bolts on the back side of this, alongside of the frame, that the hitch will bolt onto there. There are going to be four on the passengers side. On the outboard side of the frame, on the drivers side, where we are looking here, there are two threaded holes there. Also, to install the hitch, we are going to have to lower the exhaust, too. Disconnect this rubber hanger right here, and this rubber hanger here, and that will disconnect those and now we can lower the exhaust and thus we can have some good working room. more

Today we are going to install part number 13408 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. What is going to happen is we are going to install where this bolt is. It will reuse this existing hole that comes with a new fastener, and also this existing hole here in the frame. Also, to give us a little bit extra working room, we are going to disconnect the exhaust at these two bolts right here, just to give us a little more flexibility so we have a little bit more room to work. All right, next we will install our hardware for this hole here. Sometimes, if this hole is not big enough, there is a bigger access hole further up in the frame and you can pull it through. OK, it is going to be the same thing on this side however, the hitch is going to wrap around the exhaust and use the same existing holes that are in the frame as was on the drivers side. Optionally, you can disconnect the exhaust and move it out of the way so it will be a little easier to get ahold of the hardware going into the vehicle. And that is what we are going to do here. So we will disconnect the two rubber hangers here, and hopefully that will give us enough wiggle room to push it off to the side. You can see the hole is a little bit small for the block, so we will need to enlarge it just a little bit so that we can get the bolt-and-block assembly up into place. We do the same thing on the passengers side as well. But, as you can see, on the passengers side the exhaust is in the way. We are going to go ahead and point out the mounting holes for the trailer hitch. As you can see, this particular van has multiple holes in the bottom of the frame we are going to be using three of them. We are going to start by using the rearmost hole here that has the double-plated end to it. We will be using the one right next to it here, as well, and then the one here. On some models, this carbon canister may interfere with you getting the bolt and block into place. If that is the case, you can take and remove the carbon canister by removing the nuts off of these two studs coming through the other side of the frame that are holding the carbon canister. And the mounting holes are going to be the same on the passengers side. So we are going to go ahead and put the bolt and block assemblies in place, and then we can go ahead and put the hitch up. You will note that there is a slight -off here in the double-piece metal to where the flat portion of the frame is here we are going to need to add a block in between the frame and the hitch when we put it up. Today we are going to install part number 90185 from Tekonsha, the Prodigy Brake Controller, and we will also use T-1 Connector part number 118438. And also we are going to use part number ETBC7 as the install kit for our 7-pole going up to our battery and the brake controller, on a 2009 Honda Odyssey. Our first step involved is we are actually going to install the T-connector first. Normally it installs behind this panel here, gets run underneath this threshold, and usually gets stored in the jack storage compartment. Since we are installing a brake controller and it is going to be using a 7-pole connector on top of it, so what is going to happen is we need to run our wire harness from the inside out. First off, we are going to take off this threshold here. We have to take off these anchor points. There are plastic pins throughout the bottom here, so what you need to do is pull this out gently until they pop out, like so. And once you have them all loose, just a gentle pull, pushing up on it, will pop the pins that are in here. The next step we are going to is we are going to go ahead and remove this panel. We will pull it out just a little bit so we can get access to the plug. The port is located on this assembly right here. It is on the top right-hand corner, and it is usually the only one that is open. And there is a separate ground right here which we attach to the factory ground right here. Next what we will do is we will secure our module here. And we will just put it back here - anywhere where it is convenient back behind the panel here. The next thing we want to do is go ahead and run our wire along the factory harness here, and then it will go straight down. And we have made a dimple right here where we are going to mark our - and drill a hole right here. So we are going to drill out a 1/2-inch hole. We drilled a 1/2-inch hole and installed a little simple, rubber grommet. Now what we are going to do is we are going to cut our wire up here and then we are going to feed it from the outside in. And we will make our reconnection up here. That way, at least we have some connections that are not outside all the time. We will go ahead and tape up our connections now, secure them up. And for now we are going to leave our access just like this. We will just put it underneath there - hide it underneath our carpet. And at this point we can go ahead and start putting the interior back together. more

First we will show you where the hitch installs, starting on the drivers side frame rail: this threaded hole here, this threaded hole, and this hole right here. We will pull our hardware from the inside out. Going to the passengers side, above the exhaust here, it is going to use this threaded hole, this threaded hole, and then that is all it is going to use on the passengers side. There is an extra hole on the frame of the hitch for manufacturing purposes, but it is not going to be used. more

Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36423 on a 2007 Jeep Compass. OK, we are underneath the vehicle, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. Looking at the passengers side frame rail, you can see on the inboard side here we have got two existing holes. The hitch is actually going to come up the arms are going to come here on the inboard side. We are going to take the 5/8 bolts that are provided in the installation kit and we are going to slide them from the outboard side to the inboard side, and the hitch will go up onto those. And we are going to do that same thing for both sides of the vehicle. So I am going to take the bolts back out, and then we will go ahead and put the hitch up into position. more

Today we are going to install part number 12038 from Curt, and we are going to install this hitch on a 2001 Subaru Forester. First thing we are going to do is we have to take down some parts off the vehicle to install the hitch. Take off this tie-down hook. We will have to temporarily lower this carbon canister. Now we are just going to lower it we are actually not going to take it all the way off. All right, we will just leave it like that. We do not have to worry from here on out. Now we need to go ahead and take down this bolt here for this bracket. What is going to happen is this bracket will go back in place with the hitch installed. The hitch is designed to fit around it, and the carbon canister will go back up when it is done. And on the drivers side, this rear tie-down mount will get removed and left off. And this rear hanger for the exhaust comes off temporarily and goes back on when we are done. What is going to happen is that, in the end, this is going to actually get bolted back to the hitch itself, and this exhaust bracket is going to stay off. more

Today we are going to install part number 118461 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this part on a 2001 Subaru Forester. The connection points are inside the vehicle, in the rear, so we have to get inside the rear hatch and start pulling up the floor panels. Our connection point happens to be right here, underneath the threshold on the passengers side. You just pull it out. It has got the blue tape on it. And our T-connector will simply just snap in place, like so. And all that remains is to go ahead and attach the Modulite to the back of the sheet metal here. You can put it just any place you want but it seems pretty convenient and out of the way right here. And we can zip-tie our wires to the existing wire package here, and they will be safe and out of the way. Now we did not really have to take out the spare tire, but it gives you a better idea of what is going on. more

Today we are going to install part numbers 9470 and 4430, a Hide-a-Goose gooseneck hitch, on a 2006 Ford F-250. We will go ahead and lower the exhaust. Now, there is a mount in front of the axle that you reach in from underneath the bed to get to it. Take out two nuts, and you can lower the exhaust that way. And then we will go to the back of this whole assembly and pull it off to the side. The next thing we need to do is to remove the bracket from the vapor tube, which is this object right here - this is your vapor tube, and this is your wire harness. What is going to happen is we are going to take this bracket and we are going to put it sideways and remount it with the provided bracket that comes in the kit. It is bolted onto the side of the frame here, so we have got to take off that nut. You can pull it out. I am just going to rotate it just like this, install our bracket, and what this does is it provides room for the bracket that fits on the outside of the frame to install the gooseneck hitch. We will take our nut-and-bolt assembly from the outside in. Next what we are going to do is take down this shield here - again, to give us some more work room to install the hitch. more

Today we are going to be installing window visors from WeatherTech, part number WT80018, on a 2000 Chevrolet S-10. The first thing we want to do is to do a little bit of prep work to the window. We want to just take and clean the top portion of the window off. We just use a light solvent or just regular soap and water to do this. And you also want to get in and clean out the window sill as well. For this particular set of visors, there is not any sort of adhesive that is going to be used to hold the visors in, so it is not that imperative that we get it that clean. But on some of the visors, there will be additional double-sided tape to help hold it into the sill, and in that case you want to make sure you get it cleaned out really well. more

Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 24814 on a 2008 Toyota Corolla. Underneath the vehicle, we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. Here on the passengers side, you can see we have got the exhaust right here. Just rearward of that we have got two existing weld nuts - one here, and one here. Those are going to provide the two attaching points for the trailer hitch here on the passengers side. And then here on the drivers side we are going to be using the same two weld nuts - this one here, and this one here. So, before we get started, we want to make sure we thoroughly clean out the weld nuts to make sure that we can get the bolts in easily. To do that, we are going to take a spray lubricant, like a WD-40, soak the weld nuts, and then we just take a wire brush and just run that in there a few times. That will help release any road grime or rust that may be in there. We want to do that for all four of the weld nuts. more

Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 24832 on a 2009 Mazda 6. OK, we are underneath the vehicle now and we want to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. Before we can do that, we actually need to lower the exhaust out of the way. To do that, we need to remove it off of three hangers. We have got one here on the passengers side, one on the drivers side, and then one dead center of the vehicle. To remove the exhaust off of its hangers, it is a good idea to spray the studs down with a spray lubricant like a WD-40. Before I remove the third forward hanger from the vehicle, I want to do two things. more

Today we are going to install part number 118307 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this T-1 connector on a 2006 Kia Sorento. We are also going to be using part number 118144, 4-pole bracket, as part of this install. First we will install our bracket, and we will just install a couple of simple screws that come with the package. And then we will install our T-1 connector 4-pole harness into that. All right, the Sorento already has a port installed from the factory, so it is a simple matter of plugging the T-1 harness into this port right here. So you push down this button on top, and then take a screwdriver to catch the edge of it. It helps kind of get it started where you can pull it out. more

Today we are going to install part number 87425 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Kia Sorento. First step, we will go ahead and take down this rubber exhaust hanger. Just spray it down with some lubricant and we will just take a pry bar and just kind of pry it off of it. Sometimes these threads in here will get clogged up with dirt and rust and whatnot. It is a good idea to spray them down with some WD-40 and then clean them out, and then run your bolts in and out to help clean it out. more

Today we are going to install part number 87410 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2003 Pontiac Montana. We will show you where the hitch mounts up on the vehicle. It is actually going to bolt up in this location right here where these existing bolts are. The bolts will get replaced by new hardware, and it will be the frame, the hitch, and then the exhaust hanger we will bolt on top of that with the new hardware. And on the other side here, this is pretty open. It is going to bolt up into these threaded holes right here. Now, some models will have a compressor bracket right here. In this case we do not have it, so we do not have to worry about modifying anything right there. Also, in addition to these two attaching points, there is a hole that gets drilled out in the frame here, too. This hole is going to be on the other side - on the passengers side, as well. And there is an existing hole that you install hardware on, on the passengers side, also. more

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 36417 from Draw-Tite on a 2008 Honda Odyssey. We are underneath the vehicle now and we are looking at the driver's side frame rail. As you can see here at the end, we have two existing weld nuts in the frame that we are going to be using as the two attaching points for the trailer hitch. And then over here on the passenger's side, we have the same two weld nuts that are also going to provide the attaching points. And you can see, we do have the exhaust in the way, so we are going to want to lower that down first. To do that, we are going to remove it off of the rubber hanger here at the rear position and then here at the more forward position, almost in the middle of the vehicle. more

Today we are going to install part number 118175, the protected tail light converter, and we are going to install this on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. We are going to tap in behind the tail lights. I am going to take this off, and then we are going to run a wire on the outside here, underneath the bumper cover. And this is where the converter box will hide, underneath here. All right, the next thing we are going to do is pull this bumper cover away from it. We are just going to use a simple brake tool and just work our way behind it, just enough where you can run a fish wire through there and out the bottom. more

Today we are going to install part number 13223 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. We will show you where the hitch mounts up on the frame. It reuses these existing holes where these bolts are right now. This tie-down hook actually gets taken off the vehicle and left off, and it is going to be the same thing on the passengers side, where this tie-down loop will get taken off as well. And these pieces will stay off the vehicle. Also, we did take down the spare tire, just to get a little easier working room, and the spare tire will go back up in its place when we are done. All right, when you take this down, there is a threaded fitting here which the hitch uses, too. We are going to take some time here and actually clean that out really good. Spray it down with some lubricant and run the bolt in and out. Sometimes, in an aged vehicle, you may have to run a tap through it to clean it out. more

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 90621 from Hidden Hitch on a 2007 Hyundai Tucson. This installation will also apply to Draw-Tite part number 36363. All right, we are underneath the rear of the vehicle, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. The first thing we are going to need to do is to lower the exhaust to gain access to both frame rails. In order to do that, we need to remove the exhaust off of - there are three hangers that we are going to need to be removing it from. There are two here on the drivers side. You can see here: one and two. And on the passengers side, there is one here as well. And you can see here on the passengers side, as well, there is a tow hook, and the hitch is actually going to be using the two rearmost bolts as their attaching point. So in order to do that we are going to need to remove the tow hook. more

Today we are going to install part number 118438 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this on a 2005 Honda Odyssey. All right, this is the plug that will go into the factory plug behind the plastic here, and we also have the ground for our unit, which will get grounded on the inside on sheet metal. So first we will take this off. All right, we are going to take off these tie-down points here we have one on each side. There are some buttons underneath here, too, so we are going to loosen those first. There you go - it just pops right up. Now you can see where we have got to take this off so we can pop this loose and out. We will take off the jack storage compartment door and then just easily pull it off on the side. Some are harder than others. And it will also help to take off this little tie-down point, too. You may have to put a tool back here to work it out. All right, once you have the threshold panel taken off, you can see why this has to come loose - now you can see why you have to take the threshold off, because this overlaps it. What is going to happen is that this is going to get pulled out just enough to run the harness in here, because the harness is going to be stored inside the jack storage compartment. The connection point is going to be on the passengers side of the vehicle behind this plastic here. It kind of helps to take this tie-down point off and pull it away. But there is a fuse box back behind the plastic we have to plug our harness into. more

Today we are going to install part number 87479 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2005 Honda Odyssey. First we will show you where the hitch installs at. It is going to install in the existing weld nuts here, here, and back here. And also you can tell, it is kind of wet there, basically what we did was we cleaned out the bolt holes first, before we are even starting to install the hitch. Take a few minutes and go ahead and clean out those bolt threads. Basically, just spray them down with some WD-40, then use the bolt to start threading in and out just a little bit at a time. more

Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 188453 on a 2007 Kia Amanti. OK, we are in the trunk area here and we want to go ahead and locate the connection point for the wiring harness. What we want to do is to go ahead and take off the access panel here. And it is kind of hard to see, but right behind this carpeting piece is our connector for our wiring harness. OK, we need to make that connection there, both on the drivers side and over on the passengers side. We are also going to need to remove this middle threshold piece and also pull back some of the felt liner on both sides. You do so by removing the push pins here on the sides and the ones here on the threshold piece, as well. more
