Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Nissan Quest - Video

Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Nissan Quest

Today on this 2007 Nissan Quest van, we will be installing wiring harness part number 118469. Okay, we are inside the rear cargo area of the Nissan Quest van here and we are going to go ahead and point out the locations for our wiring harness, inside the interior of the van, behind these panels on both the driver and passenger sides as well. To gain access to those, we are going to need to go ahead and remove some of the paneling and this rear threshold plate as well. And if you have one of the storage compartments here at the bottom, we are going to go ahead and need to remove that as well. These are the rear threshold plates overlapping the two interior panels here. We are going to start by removing it. There are push rivets located along the back section here of this threshold plate that need to be released in order to get this guy off here. So what we are going to do is grab the bottom, and there are actually clips back here as well. And just start prying away until you here them release. 1:00 more

Easy Swivel Trailer Jack Installation - Video

Easy Swivel Trailer Jack Installation

Today we are going to install Dutton-Lainsons pull pin easy swivel trailer jack part number DL22800. On a typical application we are going to simply clamp this jack on to the side of the frame. It would be a pretty easy install. However, on this trailer we have a different type of frame on it where it is a little bit angled. Going towards the back of our trailer our frame is thicker, going toward the coupler it is a little bit thinner. I am going to do a couple of modifications to the installation of this. It will look pretty good when we are done with it. The original jack was bolted on the location right here which is pretty close to the coupler and it was not working all that great. We are going to replace it with a heavier jack but, we come to find out when we install it in its original spot it is going to take up a lot of room no matter how you situate it, it will take up a lot of room even when you bolt it in place. 00:46 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Suzuki XL7

Today on this 2008 Suzuki XL7 we are going to install part number 75529 from Draw-Tite. This will also apply to part number 87436 from Hidden Hitch. The first thing we need to do is lower the exhaust because the exhaust is kind of close to the mounting points. Those I am going to lower just to get some more working room. We will spray it down with some lubricant and then we will pry the rubber hangers off. Also what we did is put up a strap to help support the exhaust so we can lower it in a controlled manner when you take the rest of the hangers off. Now you can see the nuts that are welded inside the frame that we are going to attach the hitch to. They are kind of dirty since it has been out on the road for awhile so we are going to spray it down with some lubricant and then run the bolt inside and out to clean out the threads. If they are really dirty you will probably end up having to use a thread tap to clean out the threads. 01:08 more

Today on this 2002 Ford F-150 we are going to install part number 87183 from Hidden Hitch. This also applies to part number 75065 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we are going to do is show you where the hitch mounts up on to the frame. It is going to use this bolt hole, this bolt hole, and this bolt hole. There is a cut out on the hitch for this rivet right here so do not confuse that with one of the holes to install it with. This is going to be identical on both sides of the vehicle and right now we are looking at the passenger side. First we will install our hardware. We are going to get this block and carriage bolt and strap them to the frame. This is going to be identical on all six holes. 00:39 more

WeatherTech Air Deflectors Review - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta - Video

WeatherTech Air Deflectors Review - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

Today we are going to review part number WT89008 from WeatherTech. This is their sunroof wind deflector. This is the wind noise we have cruising about 55 to 60 miles an hour. We will compare this after the installation and then we will see how much of a difference we have. In this instance we are going to install on a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta. This is the typical set of hardware that we are going to install on the wind deflector and this part actually grips the edge of the sheet metal at the sunroof, this is a protective ring for the screw where it goes to the plastic on the wind deflector and this part here attaches to the screw which holds everything together. Lets do a quick sub assembly right now. These two pieces slide together. They get screwed together just like this and the wind deflector would be in the middle. 00:49 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Nissan Quest

Today on this 2007 Nissan Quest mini van we will be installing Valley hitch part number V82760. We are underneath the vehicle now and we are actually taking a look at the driver side frame rail. We have got four existing weld nuts visible on the frame rail. Using the three rear most ones as our attaching points for the trailer hitch. To attach our hitch to those weld nuts we will be using the 12 millimeter bolts along with the conical tooth washers that are provided with our hitch installation kit. That is going to be the same on both the driver and passenger sides. However, if you look over at the passenger side you will notice that our exhaust is in the way. So we are going to need to lower that first before we put the hitch up in position. It looks like we are going to remove it off of its two rear most hangers. The rear most hanger is located right in the middle of the muffler itself on the outboard side and then if you follow the exhaust pipe forward to the first cross member you will see we have got our second hanger that we are going to be removing the exhaust off of. 00:57 more

Spiderweb Grille Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on this 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe we are going to install part number P303158 from Putco. This is their Putco liquid billet grille. In this particular unit we are going to install their spiderweb version. What this product does is it actually mounts on the top of the existing grille you have so you do not have to remove any parts at all. It is pretty easy to install you just have to loosen the grille up to get some working room but that is about it. The first thing we need to do is open the hood. The grille that is going to fit on top of this grille, the mounting point is right about this area so to get to that we are going to have to reach in from the top and over. It is really kind of hard to do with the space we have so that is why we are going to loosen up the grille. To do that we have got a series of bolts on the top to undo. It is really easy stuff. Basically we just need about one inch of room and we are good to go. 00:52 more

Trail Doc Bike Repair Stand for Yakima Bike Racks Review

Today we are going to review part number T101-104 from Kuat. This is their Yakima hold up trail doc bike repair stand. What this part does is bolts on to your existing Yakima hold up bicycle rack and it adds a little bit of extra functionality to your bicycle rack. The first thing to do is pop off the cover. Push a screwdriver through this tab and just pop it out. The base fits in just like this. What is really cool is that it matches the shape of the bicycle rack. Also you can see on the inside of the base it has this ridge that goes all the way around and it actually matches the inside dimensions of the tube. Lets install it. Thread in the bolt and the flat washer and we will tighten it down. Next we want to make sure this clamp is undone then we can put the top half in and we can put it in all the way for storage purposes and then tighten this up. This knob and this lever will lock everything into position. 00:58 more

In this case it will only fit the Thule T2 bicycle rack. We will start an assembly of this. All we are going to do is pop off this cap right here. Next we are going to install the base of the repair stand and this existing hole, the threaded part, will meet up with this hole. What also is a nice note if you look on the back side of this plate. See how it has got a ridge, that actually matches the inside diameter of the tube itself so it helps to keep it from rotating. Lets put it into place and you can see how that keeps it from moving. Then we will install our bolt, flat washer, and lock washer and tighten it down. The base is already installed. Now lets do the second half. Make sure that this clamp right here is opened up and the other part just simply slides into place. 01:07 more

Today on this 2008 Ford F-150 we will be showing you how to install the Bully LED tailgate fire strip part number TLB-001. The tailgate fire strip installs at the back of the bed in between the tailgate and the bumper. The fire strip installs to that area using a double sided adhesive tape so we will need to clean that area out before we can install it. For video purposes I am actually going to remove the tailgate. That will make it a lot easier. With the tailgate removed we can test fit the fire strip. The kit comes preassembled with the two longer pieces together which for some vehicles will be enough. The next thing we are going to do is go to the bed of the truck and we will put the first rail in and mark its location. Lets begin. Open up the tail gate and start taking off the tail lights. When you take the attachment points off these are actually plastic rivets underneath here, the cap is kind of fragile so be careful when you remove it. This Old Trailer: Electric Trailer Brake Installation Part 1 - Video

This Old Trailer: Electric Trailer Brake Installation Part 1

Alright, today on This Old Trailer, what we are going to do is install electric brakes. Right now this trailer does not have any brakes on it whatsoever, so it has two drag axles. So the first thing that we need to do is go ahead and take off the rear wheels. And then we will go ahead and take off the hubs. At this point we will take off the dust cap on our axle. And basically what you want to do is on this particular unit we have an E-Z Lube cap, so it fits kind of tight. It is a good idea to go ahead and rotate the hub and lightly strike it and then I will just back it off with a screw driver behind the flange. And then pry it off. Alright, let us wipe off the excess grease on the end of the spindle here and we will get to our tang washer. And we will release it so we can back off the castle nut. Alright, we have it cleaned up a little bit. Now right here, this is the tab I was talking about. That is our tang washer. Take this. Push it down flat to the flat spot on our spindle and then you can take the castle nut off. 1:07 more

Retractable Ratchet Straps with Push Button Release Review - Video

Retractable Ratchet Straps with Push Button Release Review

Today we are going to review part number 34414 from Erickson Manufacturing. What we have here is a 6 foot retractable tie down. A few specs about the tie down: it is 2 inches wide and 6 foot long and the texture of the strap feels much like a seat belt. The working load limit on this is 1,333 pounds. It has a maximum load capacity of 4,000 pounds. And also, the hooks are covered in a plastic material, so you do not mar up anything you are tying down. For instance, when you wrap this around the handle bars of a motorcycle or something on the frame of your vehicle, or whatever you do not want to get scratched up. :39 more

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 series pickup, we will be installing the WeatherTech mud flaps front and back, part number WT110024-120024. We are going to start our installation with the front mud flaps and we are going to start on the driver side. The first thing we want to do is go ahead and turn our front wheels all the way to the left to maximize the clearance between the tire and the fender well. Next we want to locate our mud flap. And on the back side you will see that they are marked L.H. for the left hand side and R.H. for the right hand side. We want the L.H. one for the driver side here. Before we get our installation started, we want to make sure that this area is nice and clean so that the grime does not build up in between our mud flap and our fender well. The mounting holes that we are going to be using for our mud flap are going to be this one here, into the existing hole here in the fender well. And we are actually going to remove this screw here from the bottom and reuse it to install the mud flap. 0:56 more

Thule Roof Mounted 2 Bike Rack Installation - Video

Thule Roof Mounted 2 Bike Rack Installation

Today we are going to show you part number TH515 from Thule. This is their Prologue bicycle rack. What it was designed to do is mount on top of your factory roof rack. Before we put our bars onto the factory cross bars you can take a few seconds to actually move these up and down to get the width that you want and then when you are there you just tighten them down by turning the base like a handle. Then just set it on top of the factory cross bar. We have got our Thule cross bar here and then our bottom plate will go underneath the factory cross bar and then in our bolts. Sometimes you have to thread them in to go through. What is nice about these bolts is that they have got a little button on the inside that keeps you from using a conventional torques bit from taking them off so it actually has a little bit of security built into the head of the bolt. To tighten those bolts it comes with a special tool made for the occasion. Do not lose this tool. Just get them started and then just center the bar the way you want it and then snug them on down. Repeat on the other side of this bar and also the bar that goes towards the back of the vehicle. 01:29 more
