Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2006 Chevy Uplander

First well open up the rear door and start disassembling the tail lights and take them off the body. Well go ahead and take off one of the tail lights here. Theres two torque bolts that need to be taken out and light pops off from the housing. Okay the lights are off so now its time to start installing the wire. What well do is push the four pole through the cavity between the bumper and the body and out the bottom plus the end for the passengers side too. Well leave the end for the drivers side tail light up in the air, well make the connections with the harness and the tail light. With the drivers side tail light re-installed, pull out all your slack on your line here, what well do next is thread it through behind these bumper brackets. Well go across all four of them, what well do is take some extra zip ties and tie it to that so they wont be dangling and in the way. Now that weve gotten to the other side of the vehicle, well take our T-1 connector passenger side end and push it up the pocket and pull it out the other side. Now well pull the harness out of the cavity and go ahead and make our connections. While were at it well take up a little bit of slack by using the zip tie to tie the wire to itself. While were her well install our ground wire. Now we re-install our passenger light.

One of the few remaining steps is to zip tie the wires to the back side of the bumper there, well take up slack as we go along, and well bind up the rest of the wire harness and mount it to the hitch. Next before we mount our four pole, we can just simply zip tie it to the hitch right here, but theres also a bracket available. What it does is it just simply mounts up to this bracket on the hitch and the four pole will just pop in like so held in by friction. You can mount it either this way like I have it now, but in this case were going to flip it over make it nicer looking, a little sleeker and not hanging down. Well go ahead and install it that way. Okay if you notice we left the wire harness zip tied back here just in case, sometimes you might have a trailer where the harness might not be long enough on its end so we have little extra built in if needed. That pretty much does it for the install of the T-1 connector, as you can see the four pole is tucked up underneath the bumper there of the van right next to the hitch it all looks very nice and its ready to rock and roll.

My experience with etrailer.com has been teriffic. I searched for a couple of days for a wiring harness designed to connect to the stock harness on my toyota Highlander. Etrailer was the only site I could find this part. The directions were online with photos to help identify the installed connectors. I ordered on Monday morning and my item arrived on Wednesday ground UPS. Thank you etrailer for making this so easy and affordable
