Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2010 Kia Soul
Today we are going to install part number 118431 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this T-1 connector on a 2010 Kia Soul. First thing is, our connection points will be right behind the tail lights here. What we will do is take off each tail light, find our connection point behind that, run the wires down and then come out by the hitch. And then for the ones going to the other tail light, we will just keep going back up and to the other tail light to the passengers side.
All right, this is our connection point right here, so we are going to disconnect the tail light from it, and we will just go ahead and put the tail light down for now. Next we will go ahead and our 4-pole down behind the bumper cover with the red and green wires, which will go down below too, and up the other side to the passengers side. So let us go ahead and follow it down. OK, we will tape our converter box in here to this part of the body work right here. And we will put our wires down again behind the bumper, and we will do a quick test of it with the light. All right, we will go ahead now and connect our T-connector to our factory wire harness. Those plug together like so, and your tail light will plug into here. Next we will go ahead and run our ground screw into the body work. We can go ahead now and reinstall our tail light. We will pull out our wires from behind the bumper. We will route our 4-pole along the hitch. What we will do next is go ahead and run a piece of wire down below, and we will use this wire to pull up the T-1 connector from the bottom.
OK, we will go ahead and make our connection now. Then we will go back below and secure our wires with some zip-ties, and we will be almost done. That finishes it for our install of part number 118431 from Tow Ready.
