Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2009 Pontiac Torrent

Today on this 2009 Pontiac Torrent we are going to install part number 118432 from Tow Ready. First we will show you where the T Connector plugs in at, it is actually in the jack storage compartment down toward the bottom at the floor. So to get access to it we are going to do is take off this panel and remove the jack tools themselves.

As you can see the plug is sitting there in plain sight on the left-hand side. And on the right-hand side you will see where we will run our ground wire to. This is how everything will look like once everything has been installed. The next step is to go underneath the hood of the vehicle and install the fuse and relays. Next we are going to have to get into the fuse relay box underneath the hood here. Just pop open this lid, this is where we are going to install our fuses and relays.

We will start with the relays first. If you look closely at the relays there is a little slop on one of the edges and the ledge will actually point towards the drivers side of the vehicle. And there is a legend inside the the lid here to tell you exactly where it goes. We will install the relays on positions 58 and 59. Next we will install the three fuses. Those fuses are going to be locations 35, 37. and 43. At this point you might want to go ahead and test the wire harness itself with an independent light tester instead of a trailer to make sure the vehicle is working properly. Once you have tested the harness you can go ahead and start putting everything back together. And when you need to use it go ahead and shut the trunk on it, just stay away from the latch and just pull out what you need. That way it is not just sitting outside getting all corroded all the time when you are not using it. And when you are not using it you can hide everything in a jack storage compartment. And with that it finishes our install of part number 118432 from Tow Ready.
