Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2008 Honda CRV

Today we are going to install part number 118427 from Tow Ready, and this is a T-1 connector for a 2008 Honda CRV. This T-1 connector actually installs inside the vehicle, so let us have access to the inside. We will open up the hatch and show you what panels need to come out. Remove this panel here and then we need to remove this threshold right here, and that way we can get access to this interior panel here so we can get behind it. You have two plastic rivets at the bottom. They are kind of different - you push the center and they pop out. It just takes gentle pressure and then it will pop out. And then this panel we will need to pull loose, and there is one rivet right here. Way back in the back you can see the white connector with light blue tape around it. That is the connector you need to get into. It is about two feet deep in there.

Our T-1 connector just snaps into that port right there. All right, this is our ground screw right here that we are going to attach our ground to. Once we have our ground screw installed, we can go ahead and install the box itself. And that just has a little adhesive and you need to attach it to the sheet metal behind all the plastic here. All right, once you have it mounted, then go ahead and run a cord underneath the bottom of the plastic here, and then just go ahead and reinstall the plastic. Pull it back out now, and then we will in the cover for the spare tire. In use, this will come over the cover and then out the back and by the hitch. Just keep it away from the latch right here. When you are not using it, you can just simply keep it i with the spare tire. That way, it is not sitting outside getting corroded up or anything like that. All right, that covers our install of part number 118427 from Tow Ready on our 2008 Honda CRV.
