Installation of a Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2007 Nissan Frontier

Today we will be working on a 2007 Nissan Frontier. We are going to install Tow Ready T-One connector, part number 118263. The reason we have chosen this connector is because this particular model has the manufacturers tow package. :18

So before we begin our install we will first need to remove the manufacturers cap here on the connection point. You will need to press this tab here while removing the cap. Once we have have the cap removed, take our 4-pole harness and take the gray connector and plug it into the manufacturers connection. Press it firmly to make sure it locks into place. :42

Now we will route our new 4-pole connector to our hitch and take a couple zip ties to hold up our wires. That completes the installation of Tow Ready T-One connector, part number 118263.

Did the truck originally have a 4-pole from the factory? This is designed as a replacement part for models that have a factory tow package and this cable may have been lost or damaged. If your truck was not built with a tow package, you probably need part 118525. It has the relays necessary to activate the tow package wiring and it also has a bridge harness to connect the trailer harness wiring at the rear of the truck with the main wiring harness up front. Check out the video on a 2008 Nissan Frontier.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Nissan Frontier

Today in our 2012 Nissan Frontier, we'll be installing the tow ready T1 connector part number 118263. First, we'll need to locate the manufacturer's plug located on the inside of the drivers side frame rail. As you can see here, there are two plugs. We are going to remove the cap off the gray plug. Now with the cap removed we can go ahead and take our new inaudible harness and plug it directly into the manufacturer's wiring. As we install our plug we'll make sure, we have it firmly pressed into the connector and locked in place.
