Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler
Today we are going to install part number 118409 from Tow Ready. This is a T-1 connector, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. First we will show you where the connection points are on the vehicle itself. The connection point is behind this plastic up in this body cavity here. Sometimes the connector is in plain view sometimes it is kind of off to the side, kind of more inside to the center of the vehicle. So sometimes you do have to dig for it, but it is in there.
All right, now we are going to take our T-harness connection, and we are going to thread it behind the bumper, and then come up into the body channel. Next, we need to find a place for our ground. Usually, right straight into the frame is the best spot. We will put our plastic back up in there and then we can install our ground screw. Now we will take our 4-wire and we will just run it to the center to the hitch, and we will just tie it off at the chain loop here. And then we will take the rest of our wire here and we are just going to zip-tie it to the hitch. Now we will go ahead and route our yellow wire over to the drivers side. And again, we will run it back up behind here and find the connection for it. And again, we will zip-tie our wire to the hitch itself, and we will bundle up all the excess. Make sure you have got plenty of extra, and go ahead and cinch down your zip-ties, and cut off the excess. All right, and with that, that finishes our install of part number 118409.
