Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado
Today we are going to install part number 30955 from Hoppy, and we are going to install this wiring harness adapter onto a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. First we will show you where the original factory harness plugs into. It is above the spare tire. That is the connector right here. And what happens is we just unclip it, pull it out, and we will plug it into the back of the wire harness adapter. So let us go ahead and unclip it. This cap comes off. Push this button down here, and we are ready to install our adapter harness.
On the bumper here we are going to install our bracket. There is a nice, flat spot right here. Just go ahead and mount the connector. Instead of using the screws that came with the kit, we are just going to use some self-tapping screws, which you can find at any local hardware store. Okay, next we will install our wiring adapter onto the bracket. We will install it with the supplied hardware. Next we will route our wire harness over the top of the hitch and we will just plug into our adapter. Just push them together until they make a very slight click. Once you have them together, it is a simple matter of just zip-tying this back up into place, up and out of the way. All right, and with those few steps, that finishes our install of part number 30955 from Hoppy.
