Demonstration on Using Stove Wire to Make a Bolt Leader

What we are going to do is use something different. In case you have messed up the bolt leader, like pulled it through and it wont thread anymore. What you can do is get a type of wire like this. This is 20 gauge, dark, annealed wire. The common name is stove wire or you can use something you have probably heard more of, safety wire. Basically, it is a flexible wire, that is not too stiff, but it will hold its shape, and it is pretty strong so you can bend it back. What you do with one of these is thread this through the frame first, so you have wire coming out of each end and then take this, this is the trick, and put it into the threads. You then put your thumb over it and wind it into the threads. It takes a little bit of practice, but if you get the right wire it should go on just like that, and then you should be able to unthread it. If you can thread it in and out and it still stays in the threads, you did a good job. It will definitely hold just enough to pull it through the frame.
