Today we are going to review and demonstrate the Thule Flattop Ski and Snowboard carrier, part number th92725. This carrier is designed to carry up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. It features an oversized push button that is easy to use even with gloves. Included with the carrier are 4 pre-installed one T-Lock cores that will help secure your skis and snowboards to the carrier as well as secure your carrier to your vehicle. The pull top features Thules new speed link mounting system for quick and easy attachment of the carrier to your vehicle. The carrier is designed to be used with Thule rack systems, round crossbars, and most factory OEM crossbars.
It is also covered by a limited lifetime warranty. The flat top comes with a total of 4 one key lock cores; there are two on each carrier. One is going to be located down the speed length attachment system. When this is locked we cant loosen our speed length strap and this secures our carrier to the roof of our vehicle. The second lock is on the face.
With this lock engaged the carrier cant be opened and the skis and snowboards are secured inside. Also on the face is the push button. This push button is what releases our carrier. Because the push button is so large, its easy to operate if you have gloves on while you are out skiing. We already have the rear half of the carrier on the vehicle, so next we are going install this half, and we will show you how it is done.
To mount the flattop on top of our vehicle, first we will set it on top of our flat bar. Well then take the speed length strap and pull it around the underside of our load bar, and well hook it back into the bracket on the other side. Well use the tightening knob on the other side to tighten the system down, and well do the same for the other side of the vehicle. Now we are ready to load our snowboards and skis. So we are going to pop open our carriers.
Once we have our equipment loaded, we will close the carrier and secure the locks. First well lock the key on the face of the carrier. Next well make sure that our tightening knob is lined up according to the instructions and then we can lock down the speed length system. With our skis and snowboards loaded we are ready to hit the road and test out the system. And thats it for our review of Thules Flattop Ski and Snowboard carrier, part number th92725. This ski carrier is also available in a smaller version that will hold up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards, and that is part number th9275. .
