Today we are going to show you the Thule Excursion Roof Mounted Cargo Box with EasySnap U-bolt mounts part number TH667ES. The Thule Excursion is a rear opening roof cargo box to allow loading from all three sides. On the rear of the box is a lockable latching mechanism that allows you to protect your cargo loaded inside the box. The cargo box features impact resistant, UV-protective, vacuum-molded ABS construction. The EasySnap mount system allows you to quickly and easily attach it to your vehicles crossbars. The Excursion utilizes Thules EasySnap mounting system. The EasySnap mounting system consists of U-bolts with pads that go on the underside of your crossbars, through the box, and into the EasySnap brackets. The EasySnap brackets unlock by pulling up the red tab and open by rotating the latch counter clockwise. Again the U-bolts slide up from under the bottom and into position. You close the latch and lock it into place and the box will be securely mounted to your crossbars. On the back of the Thule Excursion is a push button style latch system. Use the included keys to unlock. Push the latch button in and the lid will open. Inside the box are the mounting holes for the EasySnap brackets. This will allow you to position the EasySnap brackets in different positions to accommodate different roof rack crossbars. To install the EasySnap brackets all we have to do is pop them into the mounting holes in the box. Thule provides black vinyl stickers so that you can cover the unused mounting holes. 01:41
Next we are going to install one of our loading straps. It is much easier to do this before you put it up on the vehicle. The EasySnap brackets have mounting loops on the end. These are to be used with the included load straps. You will run the strap through the hole and across to the bracket on the other side and these straps will help you secure your gear inside the box. Now we are going to put the box up on top of the roof rack. When you set it up on the roof rack make sure you center it from left to right on your crossbars. Now that we have the box set up we are going to open it up and install the U-bolts. Lift up the red tab and rotate it counter clockwise until we are completely unlatched and feed the U-bolts from the bottom. With all of the U-bolts in place and secured we can start loading the box. We will take the strap that we loosely installed earlier and tighten it down onto the cargo. There is a pull handle strap on the lid that makes closing the box easy even when standing on the ground. Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2013 Ford Escape
Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Thule MOAB Rooftop Cargo Carrier or also known as, The Mother of All Baskets, part number TH690. Now with our roof rack system already assembled onto the vehicle, well set our roof top basket onto the crossbars making sure that our brackets line up evenly with our crossbars. Now with the basket positioned onto the crossbars, well swing the brackets on the underneath side of the crossbars and tighten them down using the included wing nuts. We will repeat these steps for all the other brackets. Once the basket is tightened down and secured to the crossbars, were ready to load our cargo. Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2009 Ford Escape
Today we have with us a 2009 For Escape and were going to be test fitting the Thule Moab Roof Mounted Cargo Basket part number TH690. Weve already got our cargo basket assembled and were ready to go ahead and mount it up on our vehicle. To do this well place the basket up on top of the factory crossbars. Well make sure that we have it placed evenly on the roof from left to right. Once we have done that well take the hardware and fit the clamps around our crossbars and well use the included wing nuts to tighten the clamps at all four locations. With all the clamps tightened down we can reinstall our covers and our basket is installed and ready to load up.
Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2011 Ford Escape
Today on our 2011 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket, part number Y07070. With our vehicle equipped with the factory roof rack system and our cargo basket preassembled, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well need to simply set the cargo basket on top of the crossbars. Well center it from left to right with the vehicle. Well then secure it using the included hardware with the basket. With our basket secured, well go ahead and give you a height measurement added to the vehicle, and this basket will add approximately 10 inches to the overall height of the vehicle.
Rola Roof Cargo Basket Installation - 2011 Ford Escape
Today on our 2011 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the Rola Roof Mounted Cargo Basket part number 59504. With our Escape already equipped with the factory roof rack system and the crossbar set at 30", we're now ready to go ahead and fit our basket to the vehicle. We need only to simply set the basket on top of the crossbars, we'll set the basket with the vehicle from left to right, we'll then clamp it down using the included hardware with the basket. With our cargo basket secured to the top of the vehicle, we'll go ahead and give you an overall height added to the vehicle and the cargo basket adds an additional 9" of height. And with our cargo basket secured to the vehicle, we're ready to go ahead and loaded up.
