Review of the Thule Crossover Rolling Duffel Bag

Today we are going to show you the Thule Crossover 87 liter rolling duffel bag, part number THTCRD-2. The Thule Crossover rolling duffel bag features an 87 liter capacity. On the top of the bag is a removable, crushproof safe zone made of a heat molded polypropylene shell. The shell is padded and lined and is the perfect compartment to store small electronics, like a cell phone, MP3 player or other fragile items, like glasses or ski goggles. Thule’s patented V-tube telescoping handles are made of an anodized aluminum and are stronger and more rigid than traditional rolling luggage handles. On the outside of the bag are compression straps to help you cinch down and tighten up the load and keep the bag as small as possible. Thule uses larger wheels than most rolling luggage to help prevent tipping over when going over bumps or cracks. On the top side and bottom are Thule’s quick grab and go handles. These sturdy handles are a convenient place to grab the bag on the way out the door. On the top of the bag are heavy duty, duffel bag style straps with die-stamped aluminum buckles for adjustment. Inside the main compartment are smaller divided compartments so you can keep clean and dirty clothes separate. There are also smaller mesh compartments inside the main compartment to help keep small items organized. The Thule Crossover line also features a 25 year limited warranty. 1:28

OK, now that we have gone over the features, we will go ahead and give you a hands-on demonstration of the Thule Crossover rolling duffel bag. On the top of the bag you will find traditional duffel bag style handles. Attached to the handles are cinching straps to help you tighten down the load and keep the bag small. Again, Thule uses die-stamped aluminum buckles for the straps. Up top is Thule’s crushproof safe zone. The crushproof safe zone is a removable heat molded polypropylene shell. This hard shell makes a perfect place to store small electronic items, like a cell phone, MP3 player or other fragile items like eye glasses or goggles. The interior is padded and lined to help keep those items safe. On the top side and bottom of the bag are Thule’s quick grab and go handles. These sturdy handles make a perfect place to hang the bag or grab it on the way out the door. 2:21

To access the main compartment of the bag, you can either use the top zip-open door, like on many duffels, or the bag also will zip open like a clam shell. The bottom of the bag is molded and works as a tray to make loading large items easier. The top of the bag has a zippered mesh liner to help you keep clean and dirty clothes separate. In the bottom of the bag are two cinching straps for strapping your clothes and other items down, as well as two zippered mesh pockets on the side for smaller items. The Crossover duffel is plenty spacious for a full load. The mesh liner separates the top and the bottom of the bag. Thule continued the molded polypropylene shell to give some structure to the bag. Here you will find the anodized aluminum, telescoping V-tube handles. The design of the V-tube handle gives you a little strength and rigidity when compared to traditional pulling luggage handles. On the bottom, here you will find Thule’s aluminum feet that hold up better than traditional plastic feet. Additionally, Thule uses larger wheels than most rolling luggage. These larger wheels will hold up better over time and help prevent the bag from tipping over when going over cracks and bumps. There you have it for the Thule Crossover 87 liter rolling duffle, part number THTCRD-2.
