Today we are going to review part number S64702 from Swagman. This is our Pick-Up Rack 2 Bike Carrier. Alright this rack will carry 2 bicycles that are fork mounted here and here. And this bicycle rack has rubber end pads to help grip rails to prevent scratches and abrasions and also gives a good grip to the truck. You take this end of the rack and just pull it out, it ratchets out to the side of your truck. The fork mounts you can adjust on the bar itself.
Just loosen these two bolts and you can move it where you want it, and a tool is included with the rack to do this with. I will move around to the center of the bike rack. This is the pitted point right here, if you push down this button, you can see how it folds up just a little bit. When you install this in your truck you start off like this, and then you snap it down into place, and then the barrel lock insures that it stays that way. Once you have it where you want it, you will press the button in the center and its locked.
Okay lets go ahead and install it in our truck. In this instance we are using a 2001 Ford Ranger Pick-up. Go ahead and fine a spot on your truck that you want to install it in. Take the other half of the rack and extend it out, if you go too far, no problem theres a latch right here, push it back in. On this rack its a good idea to push it to the edge of the bed, and if you can, maybe expand it a little more, and then push down in the center.
Push the lock in, and youre ready to load up a bike. Lets go ahead and load up a bike, were going to be using a mountain bike in this case. Put our fork into place okay and tighten up the knob, and then you have a quick release lever to tighten it down. In a matter of basically under a minute our bike is already loaded up. A few other notes about this bicycle rack has a capacity of 80 pounds, and its adjustable length is from 52 inches up to 69 inches, and the skewer diameter is going to be 9mm, and it does come with a limited lifetime warranty.
