Review of the MaxxTow Spare Tire Carrier on a Utility Trailer

Today well be installing the MAXXTOW Trailer Spare Tire Carrier, part number MT70214. Now this universal design fits four lug and five lug trailer wheels. It mounts on trailer tongues up to three inches wide and five inches high. Now our trailer already has a toolbox mounted to its tongue, so were going to go ahead and mount ours to the side of the trailer. Now youll notice its angled and raised mount design makes this ideal for boat trailers and its durable powder coat finish helps to resist rust and corrosion. It also comes with zinc plated mounting hardware.

Using a piece of angle iron, well mount it to the trailer side here. We can then use the include hardware to attach it where well tighten it down. With our hardware tight, our spare tire carrier is secure and were ready to load our spare tire. Now our trailer has a five lug spare. Well be using these two mounting points here.

If using it on a four lug tire, youll use these two mounting holes here. We can then put on our spare tire and using the two lug nuts included, well tighten them down. Now our spare tire is on and out of the way. That completes our installation of the Trailer Spare Tire Carrier from MAXXTOW, part number MT70214. .

Questions and Comments about this Video

Is this carrier to big to mount a 4.80x12 tire/5 lug wheel? It would be for a 4x7 utility trailer. Thanks!

This spare tire carrier works with 5 lug wheels that are 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, and will fit on trailer frames that are 3 inches wide by 5 inches tall. So as long as your spare tire lug pattern is a 5 on 4-1/5, and the trailer mounting location is 3 inches by 5 inches then it should work for you. I have also provided a link to the product page so you can check out some more of the features and specs of this spare tire carrier.
