Review of the DeWalt Contractor Series Truck Bed Toolbox

Today we are going to be reviewing the DeWalt Contractor Series Truck Bed Toolbox, part number DCS70. This toolbox features two J-fasteners, one for each side of the vehicle. This is what is going to holding the toolbox to the truck bed. You are simply going to drill a hole on the inside of your toolbox here, side your J-hook through there, and that will fasten on the underside of the lip of the truck bed rail. The DeWalt Contractor Series Truck Bed Toolbox is perfect for storing you additional tools in the bed of your truck. This toolbox measures 70 inches long, 19-1/4 inches wide, and 13-1/2 inches tall, which equals 8.6 cubic feet of space. :36

This toolbox features a reenforced, foam filled lid, along with dual lift struts and enclosed locking rod, and durable, rust proof, aluminum construction. The lid is held on the tool box with a full length piano hinge, which helps allow the toolbox lid to close evenly in all situations. The toolbox features two paddle handles, one on each side of the toolbox, so you can open it on either side of the vehicle. To open the toolbox you only need to release one of the handles, it is a nice feature that you only have to release one of the paddle handles to release the lid completely. The reason for that is that we have this dual connecting rod here that attaches the two paddle handles together from the inside. It also features a lock on the drivers side. 1:17

Now lets go ahead and take an in depth look at the inside of the toolbox. The first thing I want to mention about this toolbox is that it has a fully foam filled lid. The importance of that is the other toolboxes on the market are not, and over time the lid may start to warp on you. With the foam filled lid, which is patented, will keep that lid from warping or collapsing from occurring. You will also notice this product has dual lift struts, which is different from most toolboxes on the market that usually just have one. You will notice with those boxes you will also get some warping or just not as much structure when the lid is lifting up. The lid itself features weather stripping all the way around the inside of it, which helps keep the toolbox weather resistant. Inside the toolbox you can see we have a nice, deep, well. We have pockets built in on each side of the toolbox, as well as an adjustable tray that sets here in the middle of the toolbox, so you can easily gain access to your tools at the bottom of the toolbox. You will also notice here at the inside of the toolbox we have screw driver holders. It can hold up to seven screw drivers on each side of the toolbox. 2:22

As mentioned earlier, included with this toolbox is a foam piece of weather stripping, one per side. That is going to go here, at the bottom of the toolbox where it attaches to the rail of the truck. That is going to keep from marring the truck bed rails. With that, that will conclude the review of the DeWalt Contractor Series Truck Bed Toolbox, part number DCS70.

Questions and Comments about this Video

Hello, Ive recently purchased a truck that came with this toolbox, the dealership said they did not have a key for it, my question is how I can obtain another one for it?

There should be a number engraved or etched into the face of the lock core. Grab that number and give us a call! One of our reps will be able to track down the key on our site and get an order made up for you. You can also try running the key number through our search box on the website and it should come, if not call us. 1-800-298-8924
