Here we have one of Chariots Child Transport Systems. This is the Cougar 2 with the stroller front-end, part number CH919404.The Cougar is Chariots most popular line. It features multiple covers to help keep your child safe and protected from the elements. The outer layer is a clear rain shield that will help keep moisture and rain out from inside the carrier. It can be rolled up and stored out of the way. There are two elastic loops that you can use to hold the cover in place.
The next roof layer is the screen. Its a breathable screen, but its going to help debris from being kicked up and hitting your child. Chariot recommends always using this when you have the carrier set up as a bike trailer. On the leading edge are two strips of glow in the dark material so if youre riding at night, people can spot the carrier. One thing to note about the screen, the front edge uses a molded clip system to secure it rather than noisy hook-and-loop straps that might wake up a sleeping child.
Finally, you have the sunscreen with the solid awning that goes over the top and a tinted visor to help protect your children from sunlight. It too can be rolled up and stored out of the way. Again, theres another set of elastic strips to secure the sun visor. This is the two-seat model, so inside youll find two five-point harnesses to help secure your child, a padded back support and a padded seat bottom. The seat bottom is also removable and washable. There are three hook-and-loop strips that will secure it back inside of the Chariot.
On the back of the inside is a meshed screen to allow more air flow inside to help keep your child cool. Its also got space for the childs helmet to move in so its not pushed over the front of their face when youre using it as a bike trailer. This system can also be set up for a single child use where you move the harness to the center. To do that, well remove one of the harnesses by undoing the buckles and storing it out of the way. Well move the other harness into the center position.
Then well undo the lap belts on either side and put them together. Now weve got the system converted over for one child.Inside, on either side, is a meshed storage pocket for holding toys and snacks. Theres also an adjustable window vent to allow more airflow inside that way your child can adjust the amount of air to suit his or her needs. Chariot uses 16-inch spoke wheels. These are larger than some of the other child carriers out there which means jogging and going over rough terrain keeps the carrier more stable. Its also less likely to tip over. The wheels are easy to remove when you need to fold it down for storage. Simply take the weight off, push in, and the wheel slides right out. The Cougar models also offer an adjustable leaf spring suspension system. There are four different weight ranges that you can use to help tailor the suspension to your childs needs. You have tinted window side panels again to help protect your child from the sunlight and theres more glow in the dark material here at the back so that the carrier can be spotted at night. The handle bar can be flipped over and set for two different heights, if you need it higher or lower. Simply push in the push button at the base of the handle, slide it out, and flip it over.At the rear, youll find two storage compartments. First is a fold-down bag. There are two cam handles on either side of the frame that youll flip out to either fold the bag down and out, or if youre jogging, you can fold it up tight against the carrier that way youll have more foot room down below. It uses a fabric lid with elastic band to help snug it around the aluminum frame. Tucked up against the back of the carrier is a mesh storage bag for even more storage space. Theres also a hook-and-loop sealed pocket on the inside for keeping things like your phone, keys or wallets secure and handy. Theres also a secured hand strap attached to the trailer frame that you can put around your wrist when youre jogging or strolling so that it doesnt get away from you. Also, on the back of your exterior bag are three straps. Youll use these to secure the jogging wheel if you have that front kit when youre not using it. Down on the rear axle is the foot operated parking brake. Push down to lock the wheels into place and pull up to unlock and release them. This bundle comes packaged with the small stroller wheels. The stroller wheels simply pop in and out of the hub and can be flipped over and stored on the top of the hub if youre using it one of the other configurations such as the bike trailer or the jogger. The Chariot Child Transport Systems can also easily be broken down and fold it up to minimize the amount of space it takes up when youre storing it. Well just pop the other stroller wheel off, flip it around and do its storage position. To fold it down, inside the frame is a red knob. Well pull that out and we begin to fold the carrier down. Pop the other wheel off, release the other red knob and the whole system folds down flat. And that does it for Chariots Cougar 2 with stroller package, part number CH919404. Its also available in a purple, silver and gray pattern, part number CH918404 or a red, silver and gray pattern, part number CH917404.
