Today, we have one of Chariots Child Transportation Systems. We have the Cabriolet with a Stroller Kit, part number CH138207. The Cabriolet comes direct from Chariot with the bike trailer system already with it. Weve also bundled it today with the stroller kit. There are four covers on the Cabriolet, two full length covers and on the back youll find two half covers. The first full length cover is a clear polyurethane rain shield that will keep water and moisture out from the inside cabin.
When not in use, it can be rolled up and stored at the top of carrier. There are elastic loops up at the top to secure the rain shield. Theres also a full length mesh screen. This screen is designed to protect from your children from any rocks or debris that are kicked up from the bicycle as well as keep bugs out if youre out on a hiking trail on the woods. It also can be removed if not needed by undoing the two snap buckles at the bottom and pulling it off at the top of the chassis.
Well slip the handle bars off and the two full length covers will slide off the elastic loops off the ends of the carrier. There are also two half roof systems. The first is the sun awning. The sun awning has a tinted polyurethane sun shield to help protect your kid's eyes from the sun. It can be folded over the front for a half roof system and attached to the frame with hook and loop straps.
If you dont need this system, it too can be rolled up and stored on the top of the carrier. Again, there are elastic loops to secure it. The second half roof is again a mesh screen system. It will come down low enough to protect the occupant's eyes from debris kicked up by your bicycle. Inside, youll find two five-point harnesses for securing the children.
If you're only taking one, you can remove one of the harnesses and reposition the second as the center configuration. There are mesh screens on the back to allow air flow through the cabin. Theres a padded seat back and a padded seat bottom. There is a small storage pocket on either side of the trailer as well as an adjustable window vent to control how much air comes inside. Theres a large storage compartment in the rear that has plenty of space for housing purses, diaper bags, or anything else you might need to take with you when youre out for a stroll or on a bike trail. In addition to the bicycle trailer kit that the Cabriolet comes with, weve also bundled the strolling kit. The strolling kit includes the two position handle bar, a parking brake system, and the stroller wheels upfront. The handle bar can be set in two positions. Right now, its in the low position. If we push our buttons in, we can slide the handle bar assembly out, flip it over, and reinsert it into the frame. Now, we have the handle bars set at a higher height so no matter if mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, whoever is out with the kids, they can set up the handle bars where theyre more comfortable for them. The strolling kit also comes with a parking brake system. Theres a foot switch. One push to the right, it releases the parking brake and the wheels can travel freely. When swung over to the left, the locking brake engages and prevents the tires from rolling. If you need to reconfigure the Chariot for a bicycle trailer or jogging system, push the button in and the strolling wheel drops out, flip it back over, and it will lock into place. That way, we freed up our hub now and we can insert our bike trailer arm, a jogging kit or one of the other available kits. The Cabriolet also folds down and becomes nice and compact for transporting or for storage. Well flip both of our strolling wheels over in the storage position and then we'll move to the rear of the Cabriolet. First, well remove our handle bar then were going to remove the wheels. Well lift the weight off the rear axle, pull the metal clips up and slide our wheels out of the axle. Well set the frame back down flat. Well go inside the storage area, grab our two red knobs, fold them out, and push the frame forward, and we can grab the frame on the top and push it down and the whole system collapses flat. The Cabriolet is compatible with the bicycle trailer kit and the strolling kit as well as the jogging kit and the hiking kit. It is not compatible with the cross country ski kit.
