Today, we have one of Chariot's Child Transportation Systems. We have the Cabriolet with the Hiking Carrier Kit, part number CH138601. All the Cabriolets come with the Bicycle Trailer System. So included in the package are going to be the bike trailer safety equipment, the reflectors, the flag, as well as the bike trailer hitch arm and skewer for your bicycle. It also comes with a hiking system. There are four different roof covers for the Cabriolet, two full-sized covers and two half covers.
The outer full-sized cover is a clear, polyurethane rain shield that will help keep water and moisture from getting inside the cabin. It secures at the bottom with a hook and loop strip. When it's not in use, it can be rolled up and stored out of the way. Theres a pair of elastic loops at the top to secure the rain shield as well. The second layer is the mesh shield.
The mesh shield is designed to prevent any debris from being kicked up by the bicycle and getting into kids. The hiking configuration will also protect against bugs while youre out hiking through the woods. The whole full panel can be removed. There are two snap buckles down at the bottom. It secures at the top with two elastic loops that slip over the end of the frame.
There are also two half covers that you can use. This half cover comes with a tinted polyurethane sun visor. It can be flipped over to the front and attached with the hook and loop straps. It will then provide protection from the sun as well as debris from hitting the eyes while allowing open air. The half sun shield can also be rolled up and stored at the top of the chassis.
Again, we have a pair of elastic loops that will secure it in place. Finally, theres a mesh half screen that covers our storage compartment in the back or it can be flipped over to the front to provide a half mesh screen that will come down far enough to protect the occupant's eyes while still allowing some open air. In the back is a large storage area where you can put your purse, diaper bag, toys, and snacks or whatever else you need to carry out on the trail with you. Inside, youll find two five-point harnesses for securing the children. The back is an open mesh to allow air flow and theres a padded seat back and seat bottom. You can remove one of the harnesses and reconfigure the first for a one child setup. Inside on either side of the trailer, youll find storage pockets for holding onto toys and snacks. There are also adjustable window vents so the kids inside can control how much air comes in and out. The hiking kit replaces the bicycle trailer hitch arm. There are two aluminum tubes that slide into the hub and are secured with the pin that goes through the back. The arms come up and then with two handles so that you can control the carrier. Theres also a shoulder harness system that will help distribute a lot of the weight over your shoulders so youre not carrying it all with your arms. The Cabriolet with the hiking system can quickly and easily be disassembled and folded down for storage or transportation. To remove the hiking arms, undo the clip on the bottom of the pin and pull the pin up from the top. With the pins out, the arms will slide out of the ends of the hub. Next, to break the system down, well lift the weight off the rear, pull up our metal tab, and slide our wheels out. We'll access the rear cargo compartment, pull our two red knobs, and push this handle of the trailer frame forward. Push it in then take the top of the frame and push down and the Cabriolet folds flat for storage and transportation. The Cabriolet is compatible with four of the different function kits. It works with the bike trailer kit thats included and also works with our hiking kit as well as the stroller kit and the jogger kit. And thats it for Chariot's Cabriolet with the Hiking Carrier System, part number CH138601. .
