Installation of Putco G2 LED Headlamp Day Liners on a GMC Sierra

Today I'm going to show you how to install Putco's new G2 LED Day Liner. First thing you want to do is lay out the tools you'll need for this installation. These are the tools for the Silverado Sierra, Suburban and Tahoe. Instead of pliers a 7-milimeter ratchet, 10-millimeter ratchet and a flat head screw driver. The first step in the installation process is removing the eight clips that attach to the top cover. It's simply removed with a flat head screw driver.

After the top cover has been removed, I find it a lot easier if you remove the grill from the vehicle, it makes it a lot easier pulling the headlight out. To remove the grill there are four bolts on the top and actually some clips on the back. After the four bolts have been removed from the top, release the clips that are holding the grill in place. Use a set of pliers to push in the middle and to release the clip. It's good to have a little bit of outward tension on it so you know when it's released.

After the grill has been removed there are two 10-millimeter bolts that you'll have to remove that attach the headlight to the radio support. The next step is to remove the 7-millimeter bolt and the 10-millimeter bolt inside the fender wall. The 7-millimeter bolt is located on top, and the 10-millimeter bolt is located in the middle. After the fender well bolts have been removed there's a 10-millimeter bolt inside the fender well, don't remove it, just loosen it, because it's actually a guide inaudible 02:36 just like that. I need to loosen that about half the way out.

Now that all the bolts have been removed or loosened it's now time for the headlight to come out. Pull straight forward. It might take a little finesse but it will come. Once you have the headlight out, now you can remove the bolt sockets, the clips. Now that the headlight is free, go ahead and remove the alcohol wipes that are included in the packaging to prep the surface.

This will help the adhesion of the 3M Backing on the G2 Day Liner. Now that the headlight is prepped go ahead and peel the backing on the back of the G2 Day Liner. Line it up to the headlight making sure that it's down towards the bottom line. Now that the G2 Day Liner is installed onto the headlight, now it's time to wire it up. We're going to wire it up to the top running light on the vehicle. You're going to splice the black wire off the Day Liner into the black wire off the socket and the red power wire to the brown wire on the socket. Use the T-taps provided in your G2 Day Liner Kit. Now that your LED Day Liner is wired up, reverse the installation process and you're complete. Now that we've installed the G2 LED Day Liner on both sides of the vehicle we're now ready to install all the remaining screws and the factory grill back into the vehicle. Now your installation of your Putco G2 LED Day Liners is complete.
